The first staff that greeted me barely looked up from her phone. I'm used to being told to pick a color at nail salon prior to sitting down in pedicure chair. The woman was halfway through my pedicure before having me pick my color. I felt that my services were extremely slow. I was there about an hour and a half for a regular pedicure and no chip manicure. The services were not relaxing. I am also not a fan of salons that have one service provided by one technician and another service by different technician. My no chip started chipping at 9 days. Just an ok experience.

I walked in and they asked how they could help me and I simply asked what time they were closing and they let me know they that although they were close to closing time they would be happy to take care of my grandmother's needs‼ Now this is the type of service that goes a very long way in the eyes of people‼ They really took great loving compassionate care with my grandmother and the service: mani and pedi was stellar‼ Top Tier quality service with a smile‼ Tanya is simply a beautiful angel that really cares about her customers‼ Frankly, I thought the staff was really good and thank you Shi-great job‼ I highly recommend this place‼The atmosphere was really refreshing! Further, he did absolutely no cuticle work and rushed throughout the entire process. I told him I didn't like the work he did and he proceeded to laugh at me and tell me that he "has a 2 year old and a 4 year old" at home and "doesn't have time to help me". I told him I was going to leave him a negative review seeing as though this was my first time coming here and he treated me with such disdain and he then began yelling at me! Taunting me about the fact that I was going to leave him a negative review. He rushed the service, kept acting like it was an issue for me to even be there to begin with. Then told me "well you came at 6". which was the appointment time HE GAVE TO ME when I called earlier in the morning to make an appointment. He is a dishonest, unkind business man and he aggressively kept taunting me when I specifically asked him to get finished so I could pay and leave. I paid him and left and then he stood in the doorway and took a picture of my license plate, further indicating his tendencies for violence which was absolutely uncalled for considering I had already paid and left the establishment without any issue. To taunt a NEW customer like that just because I said I would leave this review is 100% unacceptable. Sun is aggressive and gets angry with customers when they tell him they do not like the work he or his shop has done. He doesn't even deserve this 1 star that was given in this review. This is something other customers who plan to go here should definitely know about. Due to his aggressive nature I have alerted the Downers Grove Police Department regarding his conduct, particularly in that he took a picture of my license plate with the intent to cause harm. I was approached by Jessie who asked me what services I wanted. I told her I wanted to only remove my no-chip she immediately rolled her eyes then walked to a chair and said you can sit here. (Mind you I usually always get either dip or no-chip today was the first time I wanted to give my nails a break since two of them broke.) I asked the nail tech that I was with to soak my nails to remove the polish and she said this the polish (attached below) is the same thing. I said okay.... on the second round of apply some got on my skin and started BURNING ME. I told her I need to wash my hands and she said "it's okay wiped it with a already used paper towel and said see better", I said no I need to wash my hands and got up to wash it. My nails feel so bumping and unprofessionally buffered. I understand I came in for a "small" service but this being the first time I've experienced such horrible service just because I'm not spending a lot is ridiculous. I have made two visits to this salon…read more 1) Basic no chip with Mimi. Totally fine. Lasted about ten days without lifting. Good service. Seemed skilled. I'd come back. 2) Returned for dip with tips. Showed a specific shape of oval with a shorter length. Color was standard with chrome. Saw Mimi. Long story short- the end product was worthy of a Facebook page that highlights worst nails ever. I felt horrible because it was evident that the technician is not capable of filing or completing a set of nails like this. My nails were very long and narrow (nothing like the photo) and were filed so horribly that my natural nail was poking out of each nail by 2-4 millimeters on each side. They were visible and obvious with the naked eye. The color was nothing like I requested, even though she insisted it was the name and number of the color provided to her. I stopped her several times throughout the service, to which she replied "I fix"-- and filed as hard and quickly as she could. Finally, I stopped her and asked for a manager. At this point- removing the nails was what needed to occur. She filed so roughly, I was not going to continue the service. A male employee brought a bowl of acetone and requested me to soak my hands. My fingers were absolutely burning. The technician removed the nails and left my fingers covered in sticky gel pieces. Upon leaving, I approached the owner who actually cleaned my fingers and gave my cuticle oil. No apology. Nobody attempted to have a conversation about what went wrong. I'm convinced they are staffing nail techs that are not licensed. No tech would create the mess she did & handle it so unprofessionally.
