What stunned me about most of the contractors is they do not have a imaging camera. I happened to have one, imaged my home prior to having a different contractor work on my home, and afterward found that not only had he not filled all my walls, did a lousy job cleaning up, but hadn't even mentioned that he didn't do interior walls for my garden level basement although it needed to be done. My bad for not reading the contract closely. I assumed that if he was going to insulate my home he'd do it all (or at least tell me what he wouldn't do). Thermal Craft came in and finished off my home and I'm really pleased.

He accommodated me by splitting the job into two parts, allowing us to do some electrical while the walls were opened up. When the electrical work was finished, I called him to come back to finish the job--with more than ample notice to schedule the rest of the work (over 3 weeks). When he did finally come back, a "3-4 day job" became 4 weeks. Also, not only did his crew smoke in my home, use my tools without permission and damage my property, but the reasons for the delays in finishing the job were ridiculous. "Your walls are too high" and "You already have insulation in your walls," etc. He also, "as a favor," patched my drywall (not in the contract) so poorly, that it took over 12 hours for an actual drywaller to fix the damage his team did...not including cleaning up all the compound they spilled on the floor. They left the job leaving my home unlocked, and frequently showed up over an hour late or left early, despite promising more than once that they'd "finish the job tonight". The owner also made no secret that he was prioritizing other jobs above mine, meaning his crew was simply unavailable to do the work. And in one location in my home, the most important for noise intrusion, I pointed out several empty wall cavities three times. They left the job without filling them at all. After I discovered the damage and paid to repair the "favor" of his crew's drywall work, I asked for a partial refund. I got no reply other than Chuck's accusation that my request was unethical. When I enumerated the cost of the damages, I was given a litany of reasons he had lost money on the job and reasons why, despite the problems, he did an excellent job--far better than his competitors might have done. Rather than an apology for any of the epic delays, poor / incomplete work, or damage to my home, I am apparently expected to be grateful.

She said she was interested in scheduling a project walkthru, and gave me her phone number. Since I'm hard of hearing, I asked if we could instead continue the scheduling discussion via email, to which she agreed, and provided her email address. So I immediately sent her an email... and that was the end of our communication. No response to my email and no further communication via Yelp chat either, despite several prompts from me asking for a response. Completely ghosted. Verdict: Poor communication skills, total waste of my time having engaged with them. Avoid.

The team ran into some problems that were outside of their control and handled them extremely well. The spray makes a mess but they covered beforehand, and then cleaned up very well afterwards. Re cost, I obtained seven estimates. Only two came in cheaper, and I those estimators did not leave me with a good level of confidence that they would have quality work.

I also discovered that the technician moved my security camera from the window to a table without asking. This was captured on my security footage. When I raised these concerns with management, I felt they were dismissed. The manager told me he believed the technician's account over mine despite the video I provided. I also informed him that I intended to leave an online review. During our conversation, he responded by saying, "I'll sue you for defamation." And, " I can't wait to see everyone on Reddit laugh at you" That response made me question whether customers feel comfortable leaving honest negative reviews after receiving that kind of warning. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this company. I encourage anyone hiring these contractors to have security cameras and to document the condition of their home before and after service. In my opinion, moving a customer's security camera without permission is a serious security concern. Xcel's website has a list of companies you should use I'll provide a list below. With only 140 reviews on google and 21 on yelp the business has been in business for 17 years he says. Yea a lot of people love your business
