Our little tradition...... Donating blood, then some breakfast. We tried something different too. The hubby had the fried rice breakfast & I had the moroccan sauce baked eggs. Very yummy. Great service & vibes. #DiningWithTheAndersons #SavingLivesWithTheHubby #MichelinGuideRestaurant #SanDiegoLiving

Chilaquiles Rojos

Stopped by for a weekend brunch here with my partner and had a wonderful time. From the moment we walked in, we could feel the energetic and lively setting. The staff was very friendly and got us seated right away. We ordered a few things to share: Chilaquiles Rojos: includes eggs, crema, cotija, pinto beans, guacamole, pickled onions, and cilantro - a very flavorful, classic Mexican breakfast plate. The crispy tortilla pieces balanced out the other components of the dish very nicely. I liked that there was no spiciness. Egg White Scramble: contains swiss chard, brussel sprouts, harissa pesto, shallots, goat cheese, mint, and cilantro - a lighter brunch plate that is still full of flavor. I liked the creaminess from the goat cheese. This is a solid choice if you don't want something heavy. Ultimate Sticky Bun: wasn't planning on ordering this until the server convinced us to, as there are limited quantities made per day. It tasted extremely sweet and decadent. The cold vanilla ice cream tasted amazing when eaten with the warm bun. Definitely felt more like a dessert to be eaten at the end. In addition to seating inside the restaurant, there is some comfortable outdoor seating on their patio. They do accept reservations for any time of the day, so I would recommend making a reservation in advance.

3.5 stars We had reservations and were seated immediately, which was a great start, but unfortunately the service never really followed through. After being seated, our waitress never came by. About 15 minutes later, the manager stopped over, asked if we had any questions about the menu, and ended up taking our order. After the food arrived, no one really checked on us again until near the end of the meal as brunch service was wrapping up. I had the chilaquiles and my husband ordered the burger--both were good, but nothing I'd rave about considering all the hype around the restaurant. The coffee was excellent though and easily the standout of the meal. Overall, the experience just didn't live up to the reputation for us.

I visited San Diego for the weekend & so many creators on TikTok recommended this spot for brunch. My friend & I showed up mid-morning on Sunday, & thankfully didn't have to wait for a table. I ordered the honeydew lemonade limeade and the fried chicken and pancakes for my entree. I only took a few sips of the limeade. It was made with sparkling water, which the menu didn't mention. I'm not a fan of sparkling water, so it was a no-go for me, though it didn't taste bad. Sparkling water makes me feel like I'm eating pop rocks lol. Anyways, lemongrass can be such an overpowering flavor, but it was balanced with the other flavors in this drink. It was just more reminiscent of pop than lemonade. Before you think "pop???" Listen. I'm from the Midwest. We don't say "soda" this way, lol. The chicken and waffles were good. The pancakes tasted like vanilla & I loved the crispy edges. The main thing I look for in pancakes are crispy edges. They were incredibly filling, so I could only finish one. You will probably leave with leftovers if you order this. The chicken was well seasoned & the chili crisp on top wasn't too spicy. It gave the chicken additional flavor without all the heat. I enjoyed that the chicken was served in bite-size pieces. They use dark meat (my personal favorite because it's so forgiving), so it was super tender. There's both indoor & outdoor seating. The restaurant was clean & service was good. We were greeted pleasantly & our server was also great.

BRUNCH review: Came here for my birthday party and it was fantastic! Love the upscale ambience, presentation and bright light, as well as friendly professional service. The cinnamon roll is indeed a must for the table. 10/10 The other dishes I tried were either savory or sweet, pretty typical upscale brunch fair. I had the fried chicken and pancakes (8/10) which was fairly good. Nothing blew me away per se, (maybe a little unseasoned?) but I think overall it's fairly priced and they have a good selection of coffees, mimosas etc to make your whole group happy. The cold brew with whipped cold foam on top was smooth and delish! Definitely one of my preferred brunch options in SD going forward!

Enjoyed a nice brunch with my partner as we had a brunch reservation. Highly recommended to make a reservation as Trust can get super packed often. Upon arrival, noticed they have quite the modern design. Love that there's a large outdoor area with sizeable indoor seating as well. Very spacious overall and clean. Service is pretty quick, our orders were taken quickly and food came out at a adequate time. Restaurant was quite busy during brunch so props to the speed. We decided on three dishes to share, Chilaquiles Rojos, Egg White Scramble, and the Ultimate Sticky Bun. The Chilaquiles Rojos is filled with Tortilla chips mixed with cotija, guac, cilantros, and two eggs. Portions are huge for this dish, very much a shareable dish. Chips were a good touchup to the sauce, a bit spicy but very enjoyable overall. It's also one of their popular items and I would certainly get this again. The Egg White Scramble is a bit interesting to me. It's very much a seasoned vegetables type dish. Very unique I'd say but it was quite delicious. A savory touch to the dish and complimented the other two dishes well. I didn't enjoy the Brussel sprouts in the dish as to me, it didn't apply much flavor or difference to the dish. Other than that, a decent dish. I was massively impressed with the Ultimate Sticky Bun, a HUGEEE fun dessert to share. From what the staff said, it's limited per day, and is different layout/toppings daily. I can see why it's their most popular item as the flavors are just fabulous. Luckily, the day we dined in, we got a custard type sticky bun, layered with vanilla ice cream, peanut crumbs, and orange slices. It was the perfect dish to conclude the meal, it was something that we've never tasted and we're very glad that we had ordered this dish. Overall, it was a decent brunch experience, star of the show was definitely the ultimate sticky bun, a very fun find and most definitely excited to revisit the next time my partner and I are in the area.

We really wanted to like Trust--honestly, it's right there in the name. Customer service was solid, but unfortunately the food just wasn't it for us. I ordered the chilaquiles while my partner went with the "simple breakfast." The chilaquiles sauce leaned way too tangy for my liking; I barely made it through half and didn't bother taking leftovers. My partner's potatoes also missed the mark. Potatoes were definitely not fresh, definitely not crispy (despite the request). Maybe "simple (breakfast)" was a little too on the nose... We were also seated at an outdoor corner table by the steps, which... was unfortunate. A lot of dogs pass through this walkway, and the area smelled strongly of dog pee. Not the restaurant's fault, but it's hard to enjoy breakfast with dog pee scent wafting in the air... Parking in this area is already limited and overpriced, so pairing that with a breakfast we didn't enjoy--and could've gotten elsewhere for cheaper and far better--just didn't help the experience. Overall, we left as two very un-happy campers, lol. It's safe to say we won't be returning for breakfast. Maybe lunch or dinner is another story, but not sure when/if we'll be back. Not every place is going to be a winner in my book, and that's okay. Sorry, Trust!

Broken cucumber salad

Obsessed with this restaurant. It never misses. From the drinks to the food - everything is so delicious and bursting with flavor! The portions aren't the biggest, but they are filling! Things add up quick, but it's worth it haha. My husband and I ordered 5 dishes and drinks, and we were pretty satisfied. We ordered the following: Broken cucumber salad 10/10 Ricotta agnolotti 10/10 Hamachi crudo 11/10 Albacore tartare 10/10 Char siu glazed brisket 8/10 I ordered the Panama fountain and it was so good and also pretty strong haha. The place itself is cute and the service is wonderful.

Tuna tar tar
Nan T.

We ordered a few things and weren't overly impressed for the price and hype. The albacore tartare was extremely heavy on the avocado. The casarece pasta was runny, and the crab fried rice had a very overpowering creamy sauce on top. It seemed like they were trying to do too much. They also coursed things out very slowly -- veryyyy long gaps in between our courses. Other than that, it seems like a great place for a date night and the service was good, I just think the menu needs some tweaks.

Chicken and Pancakes & Fried Chicken

Trust is a nice restaurant that sits on the corner. They have indoor and outside seating. Good for groups, dates, family or eating alone. I stopped by on Saturday for brunch. I ordered the chicken and pancakes, my daughter ordered the chilaquiles. I loved the chicken, it was crispy and topped with spicy garlic which gave it a good flavor. The pancakes were ok and the chilaquiles were good. Our server was really nice and attentive, I wish I could remember his name but we sat outside and he made sure we were ok and kept our water glasses full. Metered oarking is available all around.

Hamburger with really good fries

We had a really great experience once we actually got to the restaurant, but it did start off a bit rocky. I tried calling ahead to see if there was a wait and if so, how long was the wait. I was put on hold for over 7 minutes without anyone picking up. I eventually had to hang up and call back to get through. That was a little frustrating. It was also hot....VERY hot inside. Not sure if the AC was broken or if the place is always that hot inside. That said, everything after that was fantastic. The staff was friendly and welcoming once we arrived, and the food absolutely made up for the rough start. The brunch menu had a great mix of classics and creative options. We got the chilaquiles and the hamburger. Both were fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. We got a bottle of champagne which came with a side of fresh squeezed orange juice and some sort of lavender juice. Yum!!! We sat at the bar and Bianca assisted us. She was so sweet, attentive and provided great recommendations on the food. Service was quick...like really quick. Thank you Bianca!!! Definitely a spot I'd recommend for a weekend brunch...just maybe don't rely on the phone to get through!

Always driven by this place on the way to work. Finally got to try it out for my birthday! I was very impressed with the service, the food and the ambience. Sitting inside or outside would have been fine with me. My favorite dish was the braised oxtail! Everything we had was great! Would definitely come back again!!!

Does anyone know how to contact Trust Wallet support directly?

Are high chairs for babies available during brunch time?

yes

Do they have happy hour?

Yes! 5pm-6pm Wednesday thru Sunday at the bar

Do they wear masks?

Nope

Are you guys currently doing dine in?

Is there a dress code? Flip flops, shorts, etc allowed?

I don't think there is an official "dress code". If you're going for brunch, then shorts and flip flops would be ok. However I would recommend something nicer than shorts and flip flops for dinner.

Do they have happy hour?

No Happy Hour ! Morning Brunch are overcrowded !

Do they have bottomless mimosas?

No 😕

Would Sunday brunch be kid friendly for well behaved kids?

I've only been there once but they have a big patio for your well behaved kids :)

Is this place better for lunch, dinner or both?

It depends on your budget. Dinner is really good but the plates are tiny. The idea is to get a lot of small plates to share (which I don't like too much). This can be expensive. Brunch is normal portions and great. Just depends on what you prefer.

Are they dog friendly?

The patio area appears to be dog friendly, yes.

Are there gluten free options?

There are a number of things on the menu that are gluten free. But if you have any concerns call the restaurant, they may even be able to suggest some substitutions.

I told my friend the food was worth the wait. After an hour we got sat at the bar and our first server was friendly. The bartenders in front of us were clearly having a conversation and I didn't want to interrupt. My friend claimed her Irish coffee was sour? And didn't realize cheese came on a side of eggs (she should've checked when she ordered but the server never clarified either). We weren't checked on during the meal until the bill came and by then we just wanted to leave. I ordered the fluffy pancakes and found an egg shell inside. The cracking of eggshells in my mouth made me loose my appetite. We paid (still tipped of course) and left. It was great the first time and mediocre the second time. I prefer consistently in service, especially if I'm waiting an hour to be seated.

Cramped and loud, but nicely decorated and serving solid authentic meals. Mexican Latte-9/10: Pretty straightforward. A solid, nostalgic spiced coffee. Mazapan Latte-10/10: A novelty menu item, both nostalgic and tasty. With a sweetened condensed milk rim and mazapan dust, this sweet coffee is a must order. Chilaquiles-10/10: Cocina 35 knows how to throw down the best Mexican breakfast item: the chilaquiles. The Verde was good but didn't pack much heat. The Salsa Secreta was our favorite; a creamy 3-chile salsa with an artichoke flavor, this one packs an enjoyable amount of heat. The Chipotle was another yummy and creamy option, making your nose run but still very enjoyable. Frijoles Puercos-7/10: They were pretty standard. I've definitely had better. They served their purpose as a good side. Concha Rellena-7.5/10: Another creative menu item. Whipped cream and whole strawberries sandwiched between two french toast-style concha halves and drenched in cajeta. It was sweet and warm, but would've been more enjoyable with fresher and/or sliced strawberries. Fun to order, but a regular concha is better suited for enjoying with your coffee. Service-6/10: Again, Cocina 35 gets packed, so service isn't as attentive. Our party had to order and wait for water, ask for refills, call the server over for more orders and again for the bill, and wouldn't speak to us in Spanish. I witnessed other tables be spoken to in Spanish, but upon ordering I'd only be responded to in English. I know I'm a white Mexican, but native tongue is nice when I make it clear I'd like to order in Spanish. Overall, a fun spot with solid menu items. The samplers are pricey but probably the best bang for your buck. They do the classics very well, and are very much worth your visit!

Another table was also talking about this issue. Bacon was way overcooked as well. I also really dislike when food timing for a table is way off.
