Tiramisu
Jenny B.

This was a small cute restaurant. Staff were really friendly and gave their opinions on food options. Service was great, we never ran out of water. The restaurant is very much open concept so you can see the kitchen from all angles. I LOVED the way they presented their deserts for us to choose. They brought out the deserts on a tray for us to visually see what each looked like. Super cute, never saw a restaurant do it that way before.

I love tapas! My friend and I stopped by for an early dinner and got a few dishes to try. They were able to seat us despite no reservation. The restaurant has an open kitchen concept where the owner is also the head chef. They were able to accommodate allergy concerns (balsamic on the side for the sprouts). The duck breast was slightly overcooked but the flavor was so good it didn't really matter. The gnocchi were pillowy and the short rib was super tender. The calamari steak was unique, and I enjoyed it! I'd come back the next time I'm in the area, and get someone else to drive so I can try some of their cocktails.

Short rib empanadas with a smoked paprika aioli and sangria

We were in the mood for Tapas and this place caught our eye. The owner/chef is from Portugal and made some amazing food. We had short rib empanadas, fried calamari, Spanish sausages, Mussels with chorizo in tomato broth, and of course Sangria. The food was fresh, flavorful and perfect. Our waitress was very attentive and pleasant. The location is in a strip mall which can be deceptive, but inside the feeling is warm and welcoming.

I went to Truffle Bistro for the first time last Sunday for a wine pairing dinner. There was a delicious 5 course meal paired with tasty wine from the Willamette valley. It was a full house and the staff handled it perfectly. I highly recommend trying it for a fun and delicious evening out.

Gnocchi with Gorgonzola sayce

Truffle Bistro is an amazing place for Tapas - aka: appetizers. Everything we have EVER ordered has been delicious and we've tried almost everything on the menu. The only reason we haven't tried everything is that the owner, Henry, changes the menu to keep things fresh and in season. The place is very intimate with a cool vibe. Sit at the bar and watch the chefs work their magic We had Gnocchi in Gorgonzola sauce, Spanish Sausages, Duck Breast in Pomegranate sauce, Lamb Meatballs, and Bacon-Wrapped Dates with Gorgonzola. For dessert we had Tiramisu (amazing!) and a Chocolate Dome over a Chocolate Lava Cake. And if that doesn't make you hungry - I don't know what would! It's a little pricey, but worth every dollar. You won't have anything else like it in Orange County.

Stuffed mushrooms

This is a quaint place for tapas! Our server was really nice and offered recommendations. That was very helpful because they had an extensive menu and we were having a hard time picking dishes. We finally decided on stuffed mushrooms, red wine braised chorizo, short rib gnocchi, grilled octopus. The mushrooms were nice and savory. It was stuffed with cheese and perfectly seasoned and finished off with a sauce. The chorizo had a rich flavor that was heightened with the red wine braise. The octopus had a beautiful char and was accompanied with roasted potatoes and tomatoes. The latter added a nice freshness to every bite. The gnocchi was nice and tender and the short rib was flavorful. Great shareable meal!

Brussels Sprouts (5 stars)

I'm really glad I liked this place because I didn't want to face the wrath of the owner, lol. I found the flavors to be superb, however definitely on the salty side (eating this salty might not be for everyone). I don't know if there's a term for it, but our lips were saturated with salt from certain items; I'll star the salty items below. Maybe you can request less sodium if you are looking out for your blood pressure? Pro tip: If you're getting something with sauce, ask for bread when you order so it comes out at the same time as your food Brussel sprouts - not many restaurants get this right but theirs were actually crispy and tasty Meatballs* - although simple, it was excellent; order bread Shrimp al ajillo - we loved the sauce on this one; order bread Oxtail** - this one was mouthwatering good. I'm not sure if I'm supposed drink the broth because it's so salty, but I did (well as much as I could) Duck breast* - I was most disappointed with this of all the dishes. It is part my fault for not asking what their "perfectly cooked" temperature is, but it came out medium with the end pieces being medium-well. I prefer medium-rare and should have requested that. Flavor and crispiness of the skin were perfect though (maybe ask for a little less sea salt on top if you're looking to cut back on sodium) Frutta di mare - simple but delicious. I like a lot of lemon on my seafood pasta so I asked for an extra slice to squeeze on top Limoncello dessert - haven't had many good ones in the past so I had low expectations but it was surprisingly scrumptious -staff was very attentive and accommodating -crushed red peppers actually had a little bit of a kick -we didn't think of it until after, but sit at the bar and watch the chef working his magic, if you can

Chocolate dome dessert was divine!

It's a tiny restaurant, we didn't have reservations but thankfully got sat bc we arrived at 5pm. Service was impeccable. Someone in my party had gluten allergy and the server made suggestions to which dishes to get and which were easily made gluten free. - Squash salad: impressed. This was a new novel dish and I loved it. It had finely shaved zucchini like super thin flat noodles. There was shaved Parmesan cheese, hazelnuts, and the dressing was light and barely dressed. - Mushrooms: the onsen egg was perfectly runny and the mushrooms so savory. - Gambas: plump shrimp with yummy flavors. - Rack of pork: our fav! We asked what was in the sauce it was so delectable. We predicted fish sauce and maybe orange. The server went back and confirmed it was fish sauce! The chef has Vietnamese origins. This was so good, we cleaned the bone and licked the plate. - Cheesecake: only enjoyed by the gluten eaters. It was well made. I'm not a dessert eater typically but I found this wonderful. Not too sweet and decadent.

We stopped by here on my birthday for a nice evening dinner. Got there a little before sunset. There's just something magical about eating outside during a sunset, especially at the Orange Plaza. The restaurant has such a cool look and vibe! We started off with the Hamachi crudo, salmon ceviche, and a bowl of clam "chowdah". The crudo was absolutely delicious, highly recommend. The salmon ceviche was really good but a bit heavy on the sauce for me. The clam chowder had whole clams in the shell throughout. That was fun to pick them out! For entrees we got the lean and mean plate with sea bass. It comes with salad and rice, we substituted the rice for black beans. We also got the skirt steak "bulgogi" which was served on top of mushrooms and bok choy with a sweet soy sauce. They accidentally brought out salmon instead of sea bass, but were very apologetic. They brought out a sea bass on the side and comped the entree to make up for it. Great service right there! The salmon and seabass were both delicious and cooked perfectly. The steak was tender and juicy, full of flavor. As a birthday gift they brought out a thai milk tea blondie sundae which was soooo good! Get it if you like sweets. I wish the owners all the best in their future endeavors, they created a great restaurant that many will miss. The food was served on shared platters, but the portions were distributed unevenly. One section of our table was expected to share a single platter among eight people, while the other section received two. I brought this up several times before our server finally corrected it. Getting enough food for the people paying for the menu should not require repeated requests. The drink service made the evening even more frustrating. The restaurant was loud, and when someone at the table suggested ordering shots, the server would bring entire platters of tequila shots without confirming how many people wanted one or which tequila they wanted. I repeatedly asked him to stop bringing shots without checking with us first, yet it continued. When the bill arrived, the shots were far more expensive than expected, they were at more shots than ordered and we had also been charged for additional people who were not in our group. Our server initially told me there was nothing he could do. When I raised the issue with the manager, I was met with attitude rather than a willingness to resolve an obvious billing problem. She eventually corrected the headcount, but only after considerable back and forth. She only deducted five shots out of the 25 she charged us for, mind you most of our group was not drinking or only ordered a margarita. There was also an automatic 20% gratuity, which I understand for a large party, plus an additional 3% credit card fee. After spending the evening repeatedly addressing service and billing issues, that extra CC fee felt like the final insult. Unfortunately, the food offered no redeeming quality. It tasted soggy, excessively salty, and far from fresh. We came to enjoy an evening together. Instead, I spent much of it managing portions, trying to stop unconfirmed drink orders, and disputing the bill. Based on this experience, I would not return or recommend Cafe Sevilla for a group dinner.
