This is my new cozy space as I've started working from home a bit more. They're always quite busy, but I greatly appreciate the staff willing to bring coffee to dine-in customers when it's really hectic. Coffee is delicious and staff are friendly- though sometimes during the summer, I wonder if that old building has any AC! read more

Super cute atmosphere inside, the kids behind the counter were super nice and helpful. Coffee and food were not great, but thankfully not crazy overpriced. Either low quality espresso or was not pulled right, but got very little coffee flavor. Breakfast burrito was essentially scrambled egg in a tortilla. Would consider coming back to study/work in cafe, probably not for food or coffee. read more

Beautiful cafe house. Live music and excellent chocolate chip cookies and mochas. The decorations and artwork is unique and fascinating. Felt like I was on an art museum. Photos to follow. read more

Great sandwiches in a very open inviting atmosphere. I highly recommend. They have a drive through ad well for on the go.

This place is just adorable. I really love to hang out here when I get the chance. I'm in love with their chai tea latte, and I've seen them make a great cappuccino as well. The staff is usually pretty friendly, not as stuck up as at other small coffee shops. Most of all I just love the atmosphere! It's nestled in a beautiful little spot in downtown Hamilton, right next to a nice quiet alley/resting spot with some beautiful foliage. The windows are huge and make the space feel very open and one with the outside surroundings. You can come here, get a treat and just look out the windows at some beautiful architecture and the gentle bustle of downtown. It's a great little nook. read more

In a city thats options are limited when it comes to local coffee shops (Hamilton). True West is definitely a great addition to the small business revival collection. Both locations are located a short distance from each other. I went to the location that is open on Sundays on Main st. True West is located in a small house right next to Amstead Park, you couldnt miss it right on the corner of Main and D sts. While I have been to shops that are smaller than True West (Looking at you, Collective Espresso OTR), this coffee shop is indeed tiny. The staff seem to be college students (surprise there) and are quite friendly. I went ahead and had their espresso, which upon questioning turned out to be Deeper Roots coffee, which is a popular roaster in Cincinnati (Their roastery is is Northside). Since I came in on Sunday, I also went ahead and did a pseudo-brunch (its like 3:00 in the afternoon) and I had a waffle with Strawberries and powdered sugar. However, the waffle was advertised as Belgium Waffle; which was the reason why I got it. But its no Taste of Belgium waffles or Waffels n' Dingles (in NYC). The waffle was a batter base not dough, alas my disapointment. The waffle was still great, its just not Belgium. Overall True West is very quaint and small, but Hamilton proud. If you need a coffee fix this is definitely the place to go. Apparently the two locations have completely different menus. The downtown location has Pita Pizzas, I guess I'll have to go down that way sometime during the week. read more

Stopped by for the first time today to grab lunch and get some work done. It's super comfortable and welcoming - lots of seating inside, upstairs and outside, so I grabbed a table outside in the shade. I got the "Chuck Norris" wrap - turkey, roasted red pepper hummus, avocado, Parmesan, lettuce, tomato on a wheat wrap that was pressed/toasted. Tasty and super filling. I had to finish with a chocolate chip cookie which I think they warmed up a bit first (nice touch). It's a popular place and I can see why. Great specialty coffee and tea selections. This will be my go-to anytime I'm in the area. read more

I love supporting small businesses. This one has been rough. I came through about a month ago and I ordered an iced vanilla latte with non fat milk and by the time I got my straw in and tasted it, the milk was expired . I will go back and give it another go and update my review. read more

The coffee was expensive and even though I ordered coffee with a shot of espresso - it was lukewarm. Bathrooms are clean. The service was meh. But since it's a coffee spot I believe the coffee should have at least Been on point. It wasn't. You can pretty much get it anywhere. I didn't try the food. read more

Very cute place downtown! Pretty close to Miami University Hamilton, so I went there after class. Everyone was very nice there. My only complaint would be that I got an iced coffee and the cup and straw looked like they were from McDonalds, so if you're going there for instagram pics maybe get a hot coffee. :P lol for real tho it's a cute place. read more

True West Coffee - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Hamilton, Ohio

Decided to stop in for a cup of coffee although they do serve sandwiches as well. I ordered a 'black sheep' which is a dark chocolate and vanilla latte. Cute set up for a coffee shop. Plenty of seating, stroller friendly and good service. I can't speak for the food, I have only ordered coffee there. $4 for a small latte so comparable prices to other coffee shops. read more

I love the many different menu options. All made from scratch. Great relaxed and welcoming atmosphere to just enjoy great food and conversation. read more

Ordered lone star which is a egg and avocado wrap was really good and a frappe which was terrible waste of money. Should have just gone with a regular or latte. read more

Good little place nice people, I like the ambience, place to go sit And meet with people

I'll start by saying what they have done with this building is super cool and I love supporting local businesses. Drive thru usually takes awhile so I decided to go in. Apple Pay device was dead so after about 5mins of them trying to get it to work I had to go get my card out of my car. I typically try to avoid places that don't accept some sort of tap to pay. There were 4 people in line when I got back inside which also made it very crammed in the order area(most people waited there as well because there were no spots to sit, but not your fault that you're busy) Employees were extremely nice, but also seemed very scattered and unorganized. I waited 15-20 mins for 2 lattes and a wrap, and the lady in front of me waited about the same amount of time for a small drip coffee. At the 10-15 minute range an older gentleman by the name of Steve walked in and his order seemed to take precedence. I can appreciate the idea of loyal customers but my lattes still hadn't been made... Employees apologized several times for the wait but I'm not sure that they realized how long this actually took and the full experience. I come here all the time and I plan to continue to, but the coffee is overpriced for the size and service is usually slow. I hate leaving bad reviews, I'm sorry. read more

Great local coffee shop. I love stopping in when I'm in town.i never really order food but it seems fair.

This is the quintessential neighborhood coffee shop, and Hamilton desperately needed one. The drinks are really tasty with great variety. The sandwiches are delicious and have great portions. The Loch Ness sandwich with pesto mayo and shaved turkey is my pick of choice. I haven't tried the soups yet but they look quality; very good ingredients here. This place is great because everyday is a little different. Featured desserts and soups change a lot and are offered until they run out. The building itself is really gorgeous inside. Two floors, art for sale, live music nights, etc. It gets very busy at peak times so expect a little delay. The prices are as expected for an independent shop -- $7+ for the sandwich alone. They are trying to get a drive-through going. read more

Great environment for a college student!! I went in with a group of friends to finish up a project and the vibe was amazing! Not too loud and extremely helpful. Went back a second time in less than a week because the Pot of Gold Latte was amazing'n read more

Had a coffee and a sandwich. The coffee was excellent. The sandwich, not so good. The shop uses a cheap/inexpensive credit card processing system. No printed receipts. If you want a receipt, you have to give up your email address and wait for it to be emailed. The person who took my order was the cashier, cook, and server. I wouldn't want to be there if there were several customers. While the cook was preparing the sandwich, I could hear him hacking and coughing. For that, I lost my appetite. There was some commotion in one of the sitting areas. A woman with her young kids. Turns out, they are the cashier/cook/server's family. Not a problem really, except they were sitting in the nicest part of the place (couch/table) and the kids were noisy and running about. Surely there's a playground near by. Would I go back? Not a chance. read more

I visited 3 times. Each time was unfriendly. I wanted to like it because it came highly recommended by my friends at church. The pastries were dry and the coffee too bitter. The atmosphere was shabby shabby??? Saw quite a few Electronic keeks and college students on lap tops but Nothing really to hold my attention or make me want to come back. Chairs were uncomfortable so most likely, won't be back. OH, WAY, WAY Too expensive for what you purchased. Elaine read more

Great coffee shop with a very homey atmosphere! I don't drink coffee, but they have plenty of tea drinks, smoothies, and milkshakes so I definitely don't miss out! The sandwiches are pretty awesome as well, and I love the roasted red pepper soup. After your meal you DEFINITELY want to try a chocolate chip cookie, they're out of this world! Employees are always really nice too :) read more

Went to Hamilton IceFest and since it was a little chilly me and my girlfriend were looking around for a coffee shop. Saw that this place had a few decent reviews so we decided to walk the ~5 blocks from the downtown strip. It was definitely worth it. The shop is in a house that has been redone into a cozy coffee shop/lunch place. We got a cappuccino and a chai latte, both of which were delicious. We did not get food but their menu of sandwiches and salads looked appetizing and I did hear a few people compliment the food on their way out. All in a all a friendly, cozy place - just what you would expect from a neighborhood coffee shop. Worth checking out even if it's not exactly on your way. read more

True West Coffee - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Hamilton, Ohio

This is such a relaxing place to just let loose and get away. The atmosphere is great and so is the staff. I 100% reccomend the London fog!

I just enjoyed my first visit and hopefully more True West Coffee visits. What a cute coffee shop with lots of personality on the walls. First, I must say the staff was friendly and helpful. I had planned a small intimate baby shower for a friend & was able to request a room with little to no hassle or need for a deposit. Everyone really liked the place and we most definitely want to come back. The food was pretty darn good. I ended up getting the Mango smoothie with a combo meal of a 1/2 George Bailey & 1/2 Caesar salad. Everything was very delicious and ample portion sizes for the price. Overall it is a pretty cool place to hangout, they even have games & and outdoor patio. Looking forward to my next visit. read more

Wow what a place! Amazing ambiance, great food and excellent coffee. In town visiting and have been there twice in two days.... love the vibe. Beautiful refurbished historic home decorated in bright colors and welcoming decor. Tons of games if you're looking for entertainment for you or your kids, a separate upstairs private room perfect for parties, and cozy couches and chairs for your sitting pleasure. They also sell fun, whimsical art and great water bottles and tshirts. If you are in the area- this is a must do! read more

Quick and delicious coffee and tea and great atmosphere! It's location on historic Main Street is beautiful and in walking distance to many shops if you want to pass some time after coffee. Parking can be weird but there are multiple parking lots off of main and there is on street parking and it's an easy walk from all of them. They also have a drive through if you don't want to go in! read more

I've only been to this location a couple of times as it's geared more toward the business crowd. I believe it's closed weekends unless there's a special event. It's a lovely space and offers the same quality as their other location. Good coffees and teas, friendly service. A great company doing good by the city. read more

In Hamilton and going this coffee shop. Great little place. Some food and of course coffee. Inside is an old house. Meaning you have several rooms and places to hang out. I went upstairs with my latte and found a place at a group table and worked for a while. There were people in other rooms and it seemed to be full of younger people 16 to 30 year olds. read more

I go to True West often, on my own time and i meet there for work to get out of the office. I have never gotten food or a drink that i don't like. I often try the soups of the day and they never fail to surprise me. The staff is always friendly, and the environment is very comfortable. Everything you want a local coffee shop to be. They have a room you can use for groups as well. Recommended food: 1/2 Loch Ness Monster Sandwich (I get it as a wrap) & 1/2 Soup of the Day. Recommended Drink: Peach Smoothie or White Chocolate Raspberry Coffee read more

Very surprised at the amount of poor reviews for True West... I love this place! This is just what our area of town needed, as we had no coffee place at all, not even a large chain coffee shop. I've been here three times; once dining in and twice through the drive thru. When I ate there for lunch, I ordered the George Bailey sandwich with a Pot o' Gold coffee drink. It was delicious! The portion was just right, as well. Enough to keep you full without over stuffing yourself. Both times through the drive thru, I ordered the same drink plus a chocolate cheesecake muffin which is FREAKING AMAZING. Even the manager made a comment that this particular muffin is his favorite, and I can see exactly why. Highly recommend it. Service was fast with no nonsense. The place is order inside, an old home with lots of character but decor has a contemporary twist. Lots of Miami students inside with their iPods and laptops, doing some school work, I presume. A few study groups were there, as well. One small area upstairs was closed off for a book club.. Adorable. My only small complaint was that it is extremely quiet and talking to the person I was dining with required us speaking in almost a whisper. Would be nice if they placed some music. True West really has the right idea. I will be back again and again, without question. read more

Food and coffee is very good! Workers are very nice. Nice place to come and have a relaxing morning or do work

Sweet Coffee! Sweeter Staff! This Old Victorian Home turned coffee shop is the talk of the town and the best for a cute date or day out for breakfast or lunch. This coffee shop was my go-to spot during high school. After managing a coffee shop in New York for the past year and visiting countless cafes all over the states, True West still takes the cake for favorite coffee shop. The atmosphere, the art work, the menu, customer service, seating options, and drive-through accessibility is incredible. I stopped in today (first time back in Hamilton in 5 years) for a soy capp and my heart melted at the familiarity and comfort. Best coffee shop in the area - wish I could give more stars. read more

This is my first time here and I must tell you for a small little place, it is quite surprising and delicious. Their vast array of coffee choices are intriguing and their food is fresh, healthy (as much as can be) and tasty! I ordered a beacon, egg & cheese sandwich on wheat, chunky chocolate chip cookie and a raspberry truffle latte. The sandwich was fresh and hearty, the latte was incredible and truly a flavorful delight for the tastebuds then the chunky chocolate chip cookie was pure perfection!! It has a nice crust with the softest, ooey gooey center with a perfect mix of chocolate chips!! They really nailed the cookie. Not too sweet and not too much salt. It's perfection in a delightful mound. This place is one to visit when visiting downtown Hamilton. I may have to visit here more often just to visit this little cafe. read more

True West Coffee - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Hamilton, Ohio

What a fun place! It's tough to find a non-chain coffee shop in the suburbs. True West fills that void. It's so quaint and colorful. While in the heart of Hamilton, it even has it's own parking lot. So if street parking isn't your thing and parallel parking is a bit tricky, I know this from experience, don't be shy, you won't have to! The menu is ample with both hot and cold tea beverages. There's several other drink choices as well, even frozen lemonade. And while I did not get food, I hear their scones are on point. And their menu is full of inventive offerings with clever names for lunch and breakfast. The interior is colorful, cozy and quaint; there's even outdoor seating on a covered porch. It's everything you'd expect of a coffee me shop near a college campus, or in the city, but tucked away in the suburbs. I've been looking for a place like this to catch up with friends, or to just enjoy a chill afternoon reading a book. I can't wait to go back! read more

This is my first time here. I am visiting my dad and am normally from Columbus. I was looking for a place to do homework and passed True West Coffee. This is a quaint shop with great coffee and delicious treats. It even has a drive-through! I haven't seen anything similar in the area. Plus, this latte and pumpkin muffin is the bomb. read more

True West Coffee has potential to be a five star venue. It's a great location, great structure and interior design (except some of the paintings are creepy but abstract), and the coffee is good quality. The food is good. Seating is subpar and if you go on a music night the volume is set at loud. Still a local hot spot nonetheless. read more
