The service was pretty efficient, and it wasn't long before the food came out hot. The plantains were fantastic. There was so much that I couldn't finish them myself, but they tasted pretty amazing. I recently discovered how fantastic plantains were, and Taqueria Jaguar's fried plantains were top notch. I highly recommend them. When it came to the birria, however, I was left disappointed. I fear maybe it was the experimental nature of my order instead of going for some al pastor tacos, but I felt the meat was not great. It was cooked well, but it had no flavor. I could best compare it to when my grandma made me chili and told me it was amazing, when I had to put so much cheese on it to hide its lack of flavor. I don't know if it was from the goat meat versus your typical beef you'd get elsewhere on the menu, but I was shockingly disappointed in how weak they were. I didn't finish them, sadly. I hope to return and give Taqueria Jaguar's a second chance. If people praise this food truck like they do, I think I might just be wrong. Until then, it is not my trusted taco joint.
