I read that so many people like this BBQ, so definitely had to try it out. Atmosphere - 4/5 - Tucked away in HEB, but it is a pretty good sized dining area. It loses a point because you have to leave your shopping cart (if you bought groceries) in front of the restaurant. Although there is a person standing and watching your items, I still feel a little uneasy about it. Personally, I would probably eat before I shop going forward. Staff - 5/5 - Typical BBQ Staff. Friendly and helpful. Food - 4/5 - It is good, not great BBQ. Do not compare it to the top BBQ places, and you will be just fine. Ordered the following: 3 Meat Plate ($18.99...Add $2.75 to switch for ribs) - Did the Ribs, and 2 types of brisket with cornbread, brisket beans, and mac & cheese. They ran out of burnt ends :/ Ribs - 4/5 - Really good meaty ribs. Definitely recommend. Fatty Brisket - 3.5/5 - Typical fatty brisket. Lean Brisket - 3/5 - Little on the dry side. Chopped Natural Brisket Sandwich ($6.19) - 4/5 - Def recommend for the taste and price. Smother it with sauce and you are good to go. Pulled Pork Sandwich ($4.59) - 5/5 - Cannot beat the price for a pulled pork sandwich. Cornbread (varies, but also comes as a side) - 4/5 - comes in a skillet. I recommend getting this. Brisket Beans - (see above) - 4/5 - Really good beans with brisket in it. I recommend this as well. Mac & Cheese - (see above) - 4/5 - If it isn't Kraft, then I am happy with it. Really good...especially for the kiddos. Bread Pudding (Seasonal) - 4/5 - If they have it, I recommend it. Keep in mind that I love bread pudding. Also, they have a good happy hour (hh) for beer (3-7 pm). This is a BBQ chain restaurant, so expect BBQ chain quality. Is it bad BBQ? No, not at all. It is what it is designed for. You want a quick fix for BBQ, and it is right there while you shop. Would I go back? Yes, because the price isn't too bad for the items (especially the sandwiches). HEB really has it all haha.

Solid BBQ and a good price point. I'm new to H‑E‑B, and decided to order lunch from True Texas on a whim. TTBBQ slow smokes all their meat in-house, made fresh everyday. They sell until they're sold out, which sounds like may happen often. I ordered lunch through their app, which was really easy and quick. The pickup part was a bit trickier because they have only been open for a few days, and lines are wrapped around the building just to get in. Luckily, they have a drive-thru window, so I was able to pull up and get my order that way. The wait time around 1pm was still around 20 minutes in the drive-thru. I'm sure this will change once the craziness dies down. I ordered a brisket baked potato, 1/4 white meat chicken with a side of spicy bbq sauce, mac & cheese, and creamed corn. The potato was delicious - well cooked and generously topped. The brisket was tasty, with smoked flavors really coming through. My only gripe was that the brisket portion I got was mostly fat, and I hate fatty meats to begin with. It just may have been my luck, but it sucked all the same. The bbq sauce was nice, but wasn't terribly spicy. I'd call it a mild plus. The chicken was amazing, tender, juicy and well marinated. Would definitely get this again. The creamed corn was good, kernels we're crispy and not mushy. Mac & cheese was ok - a bit on the salty side, and the cheese was a smidge grainy tasting. Overall, I will definitely eat here again. Can't wait to try everything that they have to offer.

This review is for the food ONLY - not wait time. The brisket is very good for the convenience. I have had worse brisket at brick and mortar restaurants. It was incredibly tender - meaning no knife was needed to cut it. The turkey is similar to any chain barbecue spot, dry but flavorful. I personally wasn't a fan of the baked potato only because I prefer my baked potato to be mixed and mashed already. If you are a fan of cakey, bread pudding like peach cobbler, this is for you. I prefer my peach cobbler to be flakey and more similar to the complimentary cobbler from Hutchins (definitely worth going to) The sides were all really great as well, I didn't get a picture of the macaroni and cheese but it was incredibly cheesy and thick, not soupy like many other macaroni and cheese sides tend to be. Super thick and definitely heavy. I really really enjoyed the cole slaw but I have had better creamed corn. Overall, if I'm craving bbq and find myself at HEB, I will probably go here again.

Come one come all!! H-E-B is here baby! I am SOOO excited that H-E-B is now in my local community. I was there on day one. The big day. The one. The only Grand Opening day September 21, 2022. Of course I had to try True Texas BBQ and snag a couple of their notorious buttered tortillas. Oh by the way I forgot to mention, True Texas BBQ is located inside the H-E-B. Don't feel like getting out of your car for some delicious bbq? We'll no problem! They have drive thru so you can wear your comfy pajamas at your leisure while enjoying a nice hot plate of TX bbq! I got the turkey plate comes with two sides. I chose potato salad and mac and cheese. MMM can't wait to go back for that banana pudding. Swing on by support H-E-B! Nobody does it better than my HEB! Toodaloo for now folks!

Hello Linda's, As per the usual when you see one of my reviews, then you know that I am here to put you up on food game or I'm trying to save you! Let me tell you I randomly decided to try this place, because even though I typically eat more plant based sometimes you want a rib & you miss home! Off the top the customer service was amazing & she was patient as I was trying to make up mind. Plus, the young lady taking my order gave out great recommendations! Now on to the good part Linda's the ribs!!! These ribs tasted like Gods love had been tossed on them! Perhaps, someone blessed them before I got a chance to bless & eat them ,because these ribs were everything!!! Linda's It's only because I share with you all that I can let y'all know that I ate almost all of them before I got home. The Taurus in me wanted to turn around and get more, but I opted not to be greedy ! I put this on Taurus and as someone from Missouri that you need to do yourself a favor and go get these ribs! Listen Linda's even the pickles were fire !!! I didn't eat any of the sides, but when they need a brand ambassador, then all they have to do is call me me up! If you have a rib craving and you're from Missouri then do drop in on them you won't regret it!!! Treat yourself & don't cheat yourself!!!

Tried today. The dude at the counter wanted us to use the kiosk for first visit. We can't ask questions to a kiosk. But ok. He confirms they don't use or cook bacon inside the restaurant. This is a win for some of us. :) We order & cut to share Texas torpedo that is a little tough & it looks crazy. Confirm with another who explains - his misunderstanding might be they are made elsewhere & shipped in. They warm them but don't cook them. We rechecked l kiosk to make sure we weren't stupid. It seriously says brisket & cream cheese. The bacon & nasty sausage was an added, unpleasant surprise. Wasted $5. Proper communication goes a long way, considering the large quantity of halal & kosher foods sold in the store here.

They deserve zero stars for tfw worst service anywhere. They always screw up your order and it's near impossible to get someone to fix it.

That all changed and was very noticeable during fathers day and especially this weekend during July 4th! The past few weeks when calling in to check for food availability or how busy it was, Ive noticed the same person answering every single one of my calls that I had to double take and make sure I called the right place! When I mentioned my concern about the massive line wrapped around the building during fathers day, mothers day and this weekend, the same lady named Kayla answered the phone. I was about to leave and she assured me that it would move fast and not to worry and that they had samples to ease some hunger while waiting. Sure enough, she was exactly right! To top it all off, after we got our food and sat down, she actually went above and beyond to come over to our table and check on us just because I had called to thank her for helping me from not leaving to the amazing customer service she provided. I let her know that is very rare now days and not to ever change that! I found out after meeting her that shes about to head out on maternity leave soon and honestly, I'm going to be a little sad when she leaves! She is a massive asset to the Hutchins team and can change the mood just by her smile and friendliness. Not only that, she gave a lot of good recommendations for trying some new foods at Hutchins and every time has been a good call! Give this girl a raise!! I wish Kayla the absolute best and I'll definitely be looking out for her when she gets back! Our server, I believe her name is Cynthia, was also fantastic and made sure we had everything we needed at the table. Excellent food, legendary customer service from Kayla, and a great experience overall! Its like our first time coming in each and every time.

Nonetheless, it was well worth the drive. Despite it being around 2-3 PM, there was still a line out of the restaurant. The inside was bustling. Almost every table was filled. And for good reason. Thankfully, my friends had already made it so I did not have to wait in line (thank you if you're reading this hehe). For a group of six, we got the Family Pack. It's advertised to feed 3-4 people. It definitely was more than enough for us. Though, we also did get some extras. Our spread included some jalapeno cheddar sausage, brisket, pork ribs, Texas Twinkies, and beef ribs. Sides included french fries, green beans, coleslaw, creamed corn, and mac and cheese. I honestly did not have any personal complaints about any of the meats or sides. Some of the group did feel that there was too much cream cheese in the Texas Twinkies. I respectfully disagreed. Sure, it's quite rich but that's the point. Out of the meats, my favorite was easily the brisket. It's exactly what you envision and want from Texas brisket - smoky, beefy, and with the perfect balance of lean and fatty texture. My favorite side would be the creamed corn. Although still rich, the sweetness and velvety texture was an appreciated break amidst the smorgasbord of meat. Lastly, can't finish this review without mentioning the desert. Complimentary all-you-can-eat self-serve dessert that is. Featuring banana pudding and peach cobbler, if you weren't already in a food coma before, you'd definitely tip yourself into a comatose state at this point of the meal. Like with the rest of the meal, both desserts were delicious. Nonetheless, if I had to choose between the two, it would be the peach cobbler. Especially when paired with the ice cream. Perfection. All in all, I can see why Hutchins get the hype that it has. Well deserved. I look forward to coming back one day!

The food was good, if not the greatest BBQ I've ever had, but the overall experience was much fun. The restaurant is in the form of a large barn with ample seating and a walk-through line where you can pick out your meat and then any sides and drinks you'd like. I enjoyed having the "conundrum" of trying to figure out which of the meats to try as they stare at you from the smoker, all saying, "Pick me!" My first visit to any BBQ place is nearly always to try the pulled pork, figuring that if they can't get that right, nothing else is likely all that good. That's not always true, but since pulled pork is one of my favorites, it's a good approach anyway. :) I took my platter laden with an abundant amount of pulled pork and then selected corn on the cob, cole slaw, a slice of custard pie, and a sweet tea. After paying, I made my way into the main dining area and selected a high-top wooden table along the wall that was, shall we say, very awkward to sit at based on how the stationary stool was positioned in conjunction with the table, so I moved to a nearby regular table that was just fine. There's plenty of outdoor seating, but based on the temperature that day, I chose to stay inside. Digging in, I found the pulled pork to be good, but it was a little dry and salty. The standard house BBQ sauce was good, though, and the corn on the cob was very nice. The cole slaw was about what you'd expect, and the custard pie was tasty, even if it wasn't the best I'd ever had. The sweet tea was excellent. What I probably loved most, though, was eating all this in that environment, with the Texas-American paraphernalia hanging on the walls and a radio station playing nothing but 80s and 90s country music over the speakers--the years when I loved country the most. I wanted a BBQ experience as big as Texas while I was here, and I got that. For that reason, my visit to Hard Eight was a hit, and I will happily visit again on a future trip.

I went with a friend of mine for breakfast around 1030. First time for breakfast here for both of us. I ordered a couple tacos and a pancake. My friend got the breakfast platter and a pancake. We were given a number, got our drinks and went to ta table. About 20 minutes in, no food. We were greeted by a very nice member of staff and talked with him for a bit. But when that was done we realized it had been about 35 minutes. No food. A waiter comes by and asked if we had the pancakes. We said yes. He told us they were out because a football team came in right before we did and ended up ordering like all they had for the day. You can't make this up. So I asked ok but where's the rest of our food? I'll check on it he said. So I leaned over to the table next to us and ask if they were still waiting on their food since they had been there a while also and they said yes did you also order the pancakes? Lol We laughed and said yeah but we should get the rest of our food no? they ended up leaving. About 10 minutes later another waiter comes and asked if the manager had spoken to us. Nope just a waiter. So he goes to get him. He comes back 5 minutes later cause the manager was helping to cook and would be with us soon. So we def in well over an hour now. Manager finally comes and is the most apologetic he could possibly be. Told us straight up our other food was never made and he would make it right now. And he would comp our meal. So that was already a really good turnaround. But when he brings the food out he also brought us a rack of pork ribs because the initial employee we talked to told him about us wanting to try the pork ribs another time and he just gave us some. Could really not have asked him to have done more to make up for everything. That alone will make me return to this location a lot. Food was fine but their courteousness and willingness to make the situation right and go beyond earned a customer for life.

My sister and I came here for my birthday lunch and from the first bite I was in heaven! From the moment we walked in, to the moment we left the service and hospitality was so welcoming and amazing. You just felt like you were visiting your tia's and your primos. We were given sample cups for the teas (which were all so delicious it took me forever to decide!) We ordered to patacon with garlic pulled pork and the cachapa with the braised beef. Not a single dish lacked flavor, moisture, layers of ingredients, nothing! They checked ALL the boxes! The garlic rice was so good, so simple, so amazing. And that jalapeño citrus slaw was creamy, zesty, crunchy, fabulous. These are the type of flavors you never forget, and always desire. Stick to your ribs, embed in your memories, visit you in your dreams, type of flavors. LOL I will ABSOLUTELY be back EVERY time I'm in Dallas!

If you have family coming for the World Cup, THIS is the place to go for the best dang BBQ in DFW area if not Texas. You want brisket? Their fatty brisket is smoked to perfection and just falls apart in your mouth. I'm always a turkey gal, and the turkey here has that nice sweet wood-smoke flavor but oh so tender. To me, the clear winner is the Mac & Cheese with pork Burnt tips. Trust me when I say, words can't describe this heavenly taste and you need to try it for yourself. We got to talk to Tim, the owner and he is just so lovely. You can see how much pride(justified) he takes in his food. I can't wait to go through the entire menu.

I love that they stay open real late because most restaurants in this area close at 10. I always try something new every time, my favorites were the clams which were stuffed and the whole spicy fish, the eggplant was good too. The entrees are huge so you'll have plenty of leftovers to last for a few days lol. All the dishes are packed with flavor, you can't go wrong with anything. I love the soju and the complimentary peanuts. The service is always nice and fast. This is a great date spot, you and your partner will love the vibes!

Awesome experience…read more Noodles, beef skewers, and lamb skewers. The food was amazing. The skewers are definitely cooked over some type of coal in the back which gives it a smoky charred flavor you don't usually get on bbq outside of Asia. Definitely reminded me of the bbq in Pakistan. The noodles were my favorite part and the reason I'm itching to go back. The simple umami flavor takes this dish far and I would say it needs nothing more and nothing less. You don't go here for the service, but you do go here for the great food and the ambiance. It seems as though they have a karaoke stage but I don't went during the week so I did not get to see it in action, hopefully I will when I return. Definitely take your friends here and try this one out.

I have came here with family and friends visiting, I have ordered this for takeout countless times. Rodeo Goat is where it's at I'll be talking about the 2 most recent burgers I tried - The brisket beef attacked my arteries in the best way - the brisket melts in your mouth (overshadows the beef though). This is the meatiest burger I've ever had from here. I have a bit of a sweet tooth so the sugar bomb is the most frequently ordered burger for me (maybe 10+ times?). I really enjoy the arugula mixed in with grilled peaches, a bit of jam and the party itself. I love this burger and I hope it never leaves the menu. The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive - points to them!

I really do, but with so many nice or better burger options available,…read moreI'm just going to say I will choose somewhere that offers medium rare burgers or hits high on the napkins quotient (as in, how messy and greasy it - the more, the better). Rodeo Goat seems more of a schtick theme. We started with the "Steaming Pile," which is basically characterized as bacon-cheese tots with additional goat cheese & a sunny side up egg. The egg was properly cooked. The portion was small for $10. It's really not a shareable size for more than two light eaters. There was zero hint of truffle oil. The Cowboy Cobb salad was a healthy portion, and all was good except for two things: the "jalapeño croutons" were not crispy in any way - they were like what would happen if a mushy hush puppy and tempura batter had a love child and it wrapped itself around an uncivilized jalapeño trying to socially climb. The second was that the burger patty had no cheese (why bother?) & I know it was an add-on. I ordered the Inspector Clousseau. Not much of a smash on the over-cooked patties. And, yes, I know what to expect from smash burger, but again, these patties were two the thickness of anything I've ever seen called a smash burger. More importantly, the pan sauce poured over the entire plate was cold and congealed. Generally, the flavor was okay. The service was nice, but at premium prices, I'm looking for elevated effort from the kitchen.

Each plate comes with the choice of two sides, and we both got coleslaw and potato salad. The ribs here were surprisingly very tender and flavorful, while the brisket also had the perfect mix of lean and fat. They also make their dinner rolls fresh in-house, so every 20-30 minutes or so they'll come around with a basket of fresh rolls and offer them to people. For the price, you're getting a solid deal. Good meat, multiple sides, and unlimited fresh dinner rolls. On top of that, they give out BOGO free coupons often, so then the price comes down to $12/person. The price for taste here is unbeatable and I think that deserves a five star alone for that. Once they stop making those coupons, it'll probably go down to a four star. Overall, I would recommend this place for casual amazing value BBQ.

The hot, fresh bread rolls were easily the highlight. The restaurant was clean, which always helps the experience feel a bit better. Service was fine, just a bit rushed, like they were trying to keep things moving along. Portions are decent, sides are okay, and prices are what you'd expect for BBQ. Overall, it's a solid experience, but with so much strong BBQ competition nearby, it doesn't quite stand out. Still a good, dependable option.
