They arrived right at the scheduled time, laid down tarps to cover my garden and did a fantastic job. I really appreciated that they took the extra time to clean up the bits a debris that came off the roof. We plan to have them return in the fall to install guards on our gutters and again next spring for a cleaning or at least an inspection. I've already referred them to our neighbors as well. I then attempted to schedule ONLY the basic cleaning (a separate estimate), because the project manager had not indicated that I was not allowed to do so, and I continued to receive automated reminders via text and email to schedule it. Rep called me back and explained why they are cautious about cleaning metal roofs. In short I've…read morebeen doing it wrong. He offered to make things right but his explanation was enough. I have a metal roof and gutters with gutter guards. They company that used to do an excellent job on my roof (I'll call them "JB") is a janitorial firm that appears to no longer do roofs. I called AA based on reviews and explained that my roof was quite dirty with pollen and was clear with them it was metal. They said they would come and blow the roof off and see what else could be done. They did NOT come right out and say they could not clean up pollen. They quoted me a price lower than the previous company had been charging, so I scheduled the work about three weeks out. The tech came out late in the afternoon, spent a LOT of time looking around and talking to the office and then told me that they could only blow debris off. To do a wash would take two people a full day and cost around $2,000. Sorry, that's NOT going to happen! I said go ahead and blow the roof off, there was plenty of Douglas fir cones and other debris that needed to come off anyway. The work was fine for what it was, though there's still a mess of pollen up there. I would have preferred that they just say "we don't clean metal roofs because you won't be happy with the results."

I have never encountered the level of hard selling I experienced with this visit from any other contractor. It was hard to believe much of what the estimator was saying amidst the constant pressure to get me to sign a contract. Speaking of signing a contract, they offered a significant discount for those who sign up on the spot. In one respect, I understand their desire to get a quick deal, since their estimate was much higher than all of the others and would not survive any form of reasoned analysis.
