We had a great experience here. My husband who was a mechanic in the service was just at his end…read moretrying to figure out what was going on with the his truck. After many fixes I ended up calling the place my insurance used to fix my car and they recommended Silverlake. It's where they take all their mechanical issues and that's was the best recommendation. They did the diagnostic, kept us informed, let us know the price and any changes allowing the way and after some deep searching figured out the problem. It's been a few months and the truck is doing great. My husband was really happy with the service and we recommend them to everyone now. Great service, friendly people and fair prices

Recently we took our car into Silverlake PF to have our AC repaired. The service person offered to…read morerun diagnostics on the AC to find the problem. My husband said, "Yes, do that because I don't know why it isn't working or what needs to be done". Silverlake added the diagnostics charge onto our bill to service the unit approx 275.00. They called us to pick it up but said nothing more. They didn't say this may not work and obviously it didn't because in approx 1 week the AC stopped working, again. Now they want us to pay AGAIN for the 1st service, PLUS 850.00 approx for a hose to be replaced, which, if they would have given us this option, that it may cost a thousand dollars, we would have said "NO". If they would have called us after the diagnostics to tell us this information, we would not have had any work done at all. It seems the intension is to do a quick fix, then you are expected to bring it back in for a more expensive service. This is a 20 year old car and we are in N Idaho, AC is not a must it's a nice luxury. We weren't willing to put 1000.00 into the old AC but we were not given the facts or the options available. One kid that works there was suppose to talk to his store manager about the AC problem. My husband waited THREE days for the manager to call him or for the service rep to call him back, no one did. Hubby finally called late afternoon on the 3rd day. 'Opps, I forgot, my bad. I didn't tell anyone'. So 3 days waiting on a guy who forgot to talk to do his job. That instills confidence. Service rep said, "We've been so busy!" Isn't 'Service Rep' your JOB? Whatever dude. What a lame excuse. The 'service managers' were not helpful in solving this screwup. They really don't care or is it coming from the top down? Manager doesn't care? In our case it is true. No refund, no apology, no discount for the larger job, lack of communication about the service or customer service aspects of this encounter. It won't happen again. 3 + years of using this small, local business is over and we will be servicing our cars at Honda and Lexus from now on. We will not have the AC repaired. We do however want our money back 275.00 minus the diagnostics fee. The manager is either not in the office or in a meeting. Maybe he will see this? Have the customer service reps told him about the problem yet? IDK This garage does not have enough experience with Lexus at all. When my husband took his Lexus in for repair they quoted him 300.00. Once they took it apart they realized they didn't know what they were doing and there was a learning curve for them to figure it out. We paid for their learning curve to the tune of 3,000.00 instead of 300.00. My husband was hesitant to trust Silverlake again after the Lexus debacle but decided to use them for the AC because it is closer to us. NO more. We will drive to Honda in CDA or Spokane & to Spokane for the Lexus. The garage dismissed us and the manager is elusive and will do NOTHING to make this right. I, however, have gone against a nationwide builder in 2018 for keeping our earnest money, due to finding construction defects in a new house we were going to buy (10k). I picketed their offices in Kirkland WA, they paid the money they owed us, only if I stopped picketing. I picketed against a local builder in WA State in 2007. One of their conditions to settle on the construction defects of our new house, was that I stopped picketing their offices in Redmond and Auburn and to remove all the honest reviews I'd left on multiple sites about what they did to ruin our house during construction. I picket rain, snow or sun. I'm like a mailman in that way lol. So, If you see me picketing the Silverlake Automotive shop, honk and wave to entertain me. My son in law in the IT industry decided to strong arm a business that had wronged him. He bought a domain name, which included the business name SUCKS, posted it so it came up with all the other hits for that business. He told his story on the new website. The manager of the business contacted him and paid him the money they owed him. I thought this was very creative. Poor communication, non communication, lack of knowledge on Lexus, absent manager, no resolution. I guess we have been dismissed as valued clients after 3 years of paying them to do our mechanical services. My advice, go to the dealership of the car you own. THEY know how to service YOUR car. That's what I've always done. I'm not sure why my husband decided to bother with Silverlake. I think it was the whole "SHOP LOCAL" thing which I total align with, but now am a lot more skeptical. Honda for me. for him. Not Silverlake. Look for more reviews on this business on other sites, coming soon!

Extremely frustrated with this place which came highly recommend to me from someone who personally…read moreknows the owner. Sept 2018 I went in with overheating issues. I was told I needed to replace the water pump, thermostat, and timing belt. Paid $937. Car started overheating again. Returned it to them saying that didn't work. They looked again and told me it was my head gasket. I asked about trying block seal before I paid that much to have that work done. Block seal did not work. Car was still overheating. So I went ahead and made the appt to do the head gasket. Was told it would take 3-4 days; they had it for 9 (2 they were closed for). I was called during this time and informed that the head gasket work was finished.....but that it had overheated still and that they figured out it was the radiator. I am completely baffled that my radiator was never looked at in the first place. An easy $200 fix.....now I've paid $2,571 for things that probably wouldn't have needed to be replaced if the actual issue had been fixed. Additionally, upon picking up my vehicle I was told they also replaced the water pump and timing belt AGAIN, and was going to charge me for that AGAIN. I was told the water pump was leaking and that the timing belt just needed to be replaced in case of any damage coolant leakage could have caused. I am an extremely unhappy customer because I feel as though 1) I was taken advantage of by being told different things needed to be replaced when I don't know anything about vehicle work so I took their word for it, and/or 2) that whomever was diagnosing my car had no idea what they were doing if they just bypassed looking at my radiator as a cause of the overheating (now that I've looked online that's one of the few things that can cause overheating, so for that to be carelessly overlooked is deceiving to me). Lastly, my water pump replacement in Sept I was charged $141 and the timing belt was $83. Today on my bill the 2nd water pump attempted charge was $133 and the timing belt $70. Which means I was overcharged for the work done way back in Sept anyways. I do not recommend going here.
