We did a quick search of veg restaurants while we were riding through town on our way to Newark. A little skeptical of the outside appearance we trusted the yelp reviewers wouldn't lead us in the wrong direction. We are so glad we found this little gem! My hubs was a little leery about ordering the cauliflower wrap but I insisted that one of us had to order it given all the raves reviews on her about it. So he got that while I got the Baba Ganoush gyro. Both were good, but the cauliflower wrap was AMAZING! I am trying to figure out a way to re-create it here at home. So delish! We also indulged on the baklava and that was superb as well. We will definitely make a trip back here if we are ever going through town again. P.S. I'm posting this after my second visit, and I've only tried the lamb and steak gyros, and the cauliflower. So far, the food has been consistently delicious! I do have to say I'm not the biggest fan of the pita chips and hummus; they both are quite fresh, just a little too much oil for me. The cucumber tomato salad and the rice that you receive with the combo are definitely worth it. I will definitely be coming back, my friend and I are excited to sit on the patio when it warms up a bit. read more

About 2 weeks back on a saturday my husband and I had been to true blue for lunch. I had come to know about it through morning call magazine. We ordered falafel, babaghanoush and chicken kabob rice. I must tell that the food was simple, homemade and simply too good. I hadn't found falafel to be this good in lehigh valley and it matched the standards of new york's maoz falafel. We loved the ambience and would love to visit the outdoor cafe in summer. read more

Wow! I was so impressed with how fresh everything was---vegetables, shrimp, and chicken grilled and seasoned to perfection! The hummus was better than Mamoon's in NYC, and that is saying a lot! I stumbled upon this OASIS, which is located in the middle of a strip mall along Chestnut Street in Emmaus. The first thing that caught my eye was the charming little outdoor courtyard, complete with cafe tables, living greenery and a soothing waterfall....aaaahhhhh!! I walked inside the eatery, and was instantly overcome with the wonderful aroma of Arabian coffee and pastries. Taking in the ambiance of the hooka pipes and interesting decor, it all kind of made me dizzy--but in a good way. I felt transformed, as If I had instantly traveled right into an authentic Eurasian cafe. The Greek/Arabian owner, Ziad, is adorable, friendly and extremely helpful---and I was suddenly having fantasies of flying around the world with him on a Magic Carpet!! He recommended I try a fallafel salad, which I did--and I was not disappointed!! Since I only had time for takeout that day, but I really wanted to sit outside to enjoy the ambiance of the courtyard, I went back two days later. I looked through the menu, and realized I would have to order something new at every future visit. I decided on a type of Mediterranean Empanada--sauteed seasoned ground beef wrapped in a soft pastry shell. Ziad suggested the lunch plate version, which added basmati rice, tabbouleh, cucumber sauce and hummus with pita...for which, my taste buds thanked me endlessly!! I needed something to drink, and noticed they carried my favorite iced tea--Tazo Organic Green Tea---BONUS!! Then I let Ziad " twist my arm" into trying a tempting pineapple/coconut smoothie, whipped together with green tea and exotic fruits, all blended into a frothy lather and topped off with real whipped cream!! Can you say YUM? Next visit, I had a wonderful coconut/mocha latte, and was once again transformed to another world of happiness and hooka pipes!! All I know is that I need to set my magic carpet on autopilot for lunch to take me directly to True Blue!! read more

Excellent food, excellent service! As a native New Yorker it's hard to find great Mediterranean food around here but this is the place. They have an amazing Lemonaizze sauce which rivals any tahini or cucumber yogurt sauce I've ever had. I would also recommend the cauliflower app or wrap. They can also make their fun drinks with soy milk and I got the frozen chai - best ever! They even make their own Chai! Overall, you get great quality, food and service for a great price. My wife and I love this place. They serve the best cauliflower wrap and the fattoush salad is excellent. They make the finest hummus. I have eaten hummus from a variety of restaurants and they have the best. The only word that I think could best describe this hummus is SMOOTH! This place is amazing. The food is fresh and authentic. The service is fast but not overbearing. They have a laid back, relaxing atmosphere while still retaining a bit of class. The outside eating area is always clean. And they have free delivery! I only wish that they were open later. A friend told me about this place and I decided to give it a try, and oh boy am I glad I did! This place is a gem. It's small and intimate and also has a nice outdoor seating area that is perfect for a romantic date. My family and I have been here at least a dozen times in the past 3 months and can't get enough of it. Their gyros are authentic and the best I've ever had. I've been meaning to give this place a review for a while now. I moved to this area about a year ago and had persistently heard enough great things about this place to give it a try about three or so months ago in the late afternoon to meet some friends for lunch. I was blown away by the fresh and tender taste of the lamb gyro. The pita chips were also fresh and flavorful; I could tell they were properly tossed with dry spices after being fried to a nice golden brown. Even more amazing to me was the cleanliness I saw when I peaked in the kitchen on my way to bathroom. There was a young man with tattoo's cooking by himself, with a decent amount of people to cook for. The cutting board was one of the whitest I've seen in a while and I could tell by the way he was working (chef pants, tongs, proper utensils, clean towels) that he was classically trained and knew how to put out good food consistently. Did I mention I'm a chef? I've been back many times, usually for a late lunch or an in-between meal (they do a lot of take out). This food has even managed to impress my wife, which is something I don't do all the time. Well done. P.S. I was here earlier this evening and was not disappointed, the grape leaves appetizer came out within a matter of minutes, and was neatly garnished, service was excellent, all the things I like to see when I go out for a meal. As for the very few bad reviews I read before I posted this, I guess certain flavors aren't for everyone and every once in awhile over a period of years the chef has a bad day. read more

As far as the western end of the Lehigh Valley goes, this is probably the best Mediterranean place. It offers fair portions, good, but not superb, quality\taste. Their salads are pretty basic, but more than enough for two to share, the kebab entrees are also fair--The roasted peppers are my favorite part of the meal, to be honest..I could eat a dish simply made up of them...It's pretty good, for the Lehigh Valley. I openly admit I'm a "food snob" who grew up in North Jersey with top quality of all ethnicities available within a 15 mile radius of my house, so please, realize, as far as the Valley goes, this is good. They take their time to make a good product. I'm a regular here and have found little in Lehigh County that even comes close to what they do here. Overall, its in 2nd place on my Mediterranean list in the greater Valley. If you live in Western Lehigh county, worth the trip over. read more

All I can say is WOW!! My wife and I have been coming here once a month for the past year and we absolutely love it. The price for all menu items are very reasonable. The owner and head chef are very friendly and will even personally bring your food to your table. The Lamb Gyro and Lamb Fatoush (salad in a lemonaise dressing) and Cauliflower appetizer are my favorites. At first, I was hesitant in ordering a lamb dish because I immediately think it is the processed stuff that you see at the mall food court spinning on a rotisserie. I come to learn from talking with the owner and taking a tour of the kitchen, it is the real thing. No processed foods here!! I worked in many restaurants as a cook while in high school and college and do not enjoy eating out because I know what goes on in the kitchen. After I told the owner and head chef about my past work experiences, they invited me into the kitchen to see for myself just how clean it really is. The floors were spotless, all the food was stored in covered refrigerated bins and the prep table and the ventilation hoods were extremely clean. I am looking forward to the next time we visit them and hope they stay in business for many years to come. read more
