Current arrangement of teas and more.

First of all let's just celebrate that tricky once again has a tea shop! I came in today just a week after the opening and so far I love what I see! If you were a fan of Cha Fine Teas then you will be thrilled to find out that you can once again get your loose leaf addiction here! The original blend by Cindy herself! So needless to say, this place already has a lot going for it. I went in and was greeted by a warm feeling immediately. Lots of space to sit at individual tables. Currently the loose leaf tea is up on the wall opposite from the entry. I spoke with the owner today and she was a delight! She explained they're still doing a little moving around as they get the layout perfect but so far so good! This place also has a small tea room that can be rented out for multiple purposes. It holds about 10 so it would be great for private tea parties, small craft events, book clubs, anything. Definitely a needed space for the area! And despite being located in the same shopping center as the well-known coffee shop and not far from both the health food market and the Italian pizza place, it looks like there are plenty of offerings here that you can't get at any of those other places. Tea sandwiches, scones, very different cookies including a lavender lemon I believe that looked phenomenal. Again when speaking to the owner, she said as their menu expands they will be offering vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options very soon! One thing you probably won't expect is that attached to the shop with really adorable barn door separating the two spaces is a slime kitchen. Yes you read that right: a slime kitchen! The very popular Slime Kitchen from Reno now has a space in Truckee as well. I stopped in there to take a look and it looks so fun! They have do-it-yourself kits ready to go as well as everything set up for a full fun slime experience. When I have a chance to actually check out this slime experience I will do a separate review. Overall I'm really impressed with the first impression of Truckee Teas. I look forward to being a frequent customer. By the way, the chai latte is phenomenal. Oh and of course there is boba too :-)

Surprisingly good boba for our small mountain town! Earth day matcha latte was so good with unique flavors. Boba is soft and chewy.

I finally had some some time while in the area and made sure to visit. I was not prepared for the sheer volume of GF items! It is not the largest bakery, but that doesn't matter when the variety of pastries and sweets are as high caliber as this! I had some questions about items, and the staff was super friendly and answered them for me. I had the hardest time deciding what to get. I had to go with something simple and comforting. I chose the pull apart cinnamon roll. It was everything I dreamed that it would be. Soft, fluffy, cinnamony, and coated with cream cheese frosting. Paired with a vanilla latte, it was the absolute highlight of my week. There are some indoor low tables and high top tables if you would like to sit inside. A couple of tables outside are available as well. I've had a favorite coffee shop in Truckee already, but I think this one will be my new recommendation.

I have yet to try a bakery good I didn't like there. I will stock up on their breakfast bowls too. They are quick and filling and one of the few things I can get my teenager to eat in the morning. The owner is amazing and she chooses her employees well. I have not met one that didn't greet me with a smile or a small talk conversation. I might not be a local, but I always feel like one when I go here. I highly recommend this business!

As an avid baker/cook, I was wary of some of the products after reading some reviews on Yelp. After waiting in line for an hour, reviewing the online menu, then ordering a selection of goodies, I am here to tell you that this place is worth it. Granted I had to stand in line for an hour and there is no seating, but people in line were civil and friendly. No meltdowns. Nobody going "postal". If you want coffee, there is an excellent coffee shop a couple doors down. Many people in line were drinking coffee while waiting. Because I returned home right after purchasing my box of baked goods, I was able to re-heat the pastries, which I highly recommend, and enjoy them on the patio. Here's what I had: ham harissa red onion Parmesan croissant - reminded me of chorizo pistachio baklava morning bun - complex flavors of fruit and spice kale potato tomato onion cheddar cheese quiche - best quiche ever raspberry peach almond pie bar (gf and vegan) - very fruity chocolate chunk cookie - lots of chocolate passion fruit Basque cheesecake - creamy with a passion fruit topping Due to elevation, the croissant wasn't like other croissants I've had with their many layers, but I enjoyed the ham harissa nonetheless which reminded me of Mexican chorizo. Because there is a 70¢ charge per large box, the locals brought their own Tupperware to haul their treasures back home and maybe to reduce landfill. In addition to freeze-dried strawberry granola, dog treats are also sold here. Strategy for next time: Show up before 8am opening or closer to closing time 2pm (you risk product shortage) to avoid long wait times. Bring my own Tupperware to avoid extra charges. Apparently, July 4th weekend is the busiest day of the year...just my luck.

They do wholesale to businesses and also sell retail to people like you and me! They offer sourdough in loafs, sliced bread, and rolls. I am sure much more, but I have not actually been to their retail store. I was gifted a loaf of sliced sourdough and muffins. Ohhhh my!! It was delicious!!! What I like is their simplicity. They use freshly milled unbleached flour, sea salt, and water. I don't like when companies use "enriched" flour. With clean ingredients and no preservatives, it will not last as long so enjoy it while it is fresh!!! Fast forward, I am shopping in the Nugget grocery store and I found the Truckee sourdough breads!! Woo Hoo!! SCORE!!!

I like big bread and I cannot lie, you other brothers (and sisters) can't deny…read more.. I pick up a loaf of Truckee Sourdough Company bread from Raley's in Carson City about once a week. It's probably the best bread that I've found in the Carson Valley and that's even taking Schat's and other local bakeries into account. This bread makes a great grilled cheese sandwich, cheese toast, or just a regular Sammy. I prefer the regular sourdough over their whole wheat bread, and haven't yet had the opportunity to enjoy their full loaves or buns. There are a few negatives, which takes this review down a notch to 4 Stars. - It's expensive as it's going for $6.99 a loaf. - The loaf has less preservatives (which is good), but that means that mold may appear sooner than expected. Hence, I do my duty in consuming this bread in a timely manner. - Uneven QA (see Picture). The last loaf had thinner slices and various holes within. And this is not the first time. I actually sent a that picture (and another) to the Company and haven't heard back yet. At this price, I expect better. Note: Trader Joes sells a reasonable alternative loaf for a couple dollars less.
