The gentleman in the review below, Mr Edward Tilbury is the owner of carbonfiberhoods.com. He is also a spoiled individual whose 1 star reviews on yelp represent more than half of his total 60 reviews. Check for yourself. This is not a normal behavior but rather a vindictive one. I kept my silence for months but I can't anymore. He simply wants to blackmail GSR. The story is as follows: I bought 3 cars from GSR. I had great transactions, superior service and excellent follow up with them. I referred my friends to him for high value cars (A Tesla and a Range Rover). He ended up going physically with them 5 times from San Diego to LA at NO charge. After buying another car, I decided to sell my Lotus. Naturally, I contacted GSR and they agreed to market the car for me as a valued customer of theirs, something they never do usually. Mr Tilbury expressed interest and reserved a plane ticket to come in town to buy it. Unfortunately, my other car got flooded the same week and as much as it pained me, I had to cancel the sale as I needed the Lotus. I apologized profusely to Mr Tilbury and refunded him the plane ticket via paypal immediately. I also cancelled my clinic for two hours to explained the situation to him the situation by phone. I offered to reimburse him for his time and troubles so that we can all move on. He declined insisting to buy the car which by now was back to being my daily driver. I explicitly informed him that: 1-GSR was the middle man and as such his reviews were unfair towards a company that had assisted both of us to the best of their ability. As such, the transaction was between me and him and they should be left out of it. 2-the car was NOT for sale but that in the event I were to offer it for sale again, I promised that he would be the first to know. I absolutely did not have to do that yet wanted to be helpful to a person who seemed to genuinely enjoy cars. He expressed agreement and asked whether he could call me later to inquire whether I had changed my mind and wanted to sell. I agreed and told him to text me at the end of summer in August or Sep. I had no intention to sell the car but if by then, I had changed my mind, then I would let him know. I get surprise by his texting me on July 27th, at which time I politely stated that I did not want to sell the car. In a twisted way, he unfairly and unexplicably went onto rating GSR (which has nothing to do with the transaction) a 2 star review. I highly discourage anyone from interacting with Mr Tilbury or buy from his company. Can honestly say that interacting with this gentleman is an undue stress and burden on anyone.

Some may have had some previous damage, but nothing to brand the title. He gave us a free copy of the CARFAX. I can only imagine he would be willing to email you the CARFAX if you called him. Very amiable man. Any car he buys with damage is fixed with certified mechanics, but he was still very willing to allow us to take it to a near-by AAA mechanic (Pacific Auto Service - great reviews on Yelp) for a pre-purchase inspection. Everything turned out just as expected from Ramin's explanation of the vehicle. We were sold. Really great experience, and seems like a guy to go out of his way to give you good business (not aggressive, just willing to please if you have a question). If you are deciding to look at one of his cars, know that this is a trust worthy man to do business with. I would still inspect it, of course, and it will just give you more assurance of Ramin's reliability.

I haven't driven my car more than 200 miles and there has been transmission fluid leaks almost everyday. Just before 3pm I reached out to confirm his arrival, he said "I should be done in about an hour or two max". I again agreed. At 5pm when I still hadn't heard from him I reached out again and he said "I'm sorry this car is taking me longer then I expected, I might have to reschedule" Might being the operative word, I asked him when he would know for sure if he needed to reschedule and he never replied back....EVER. I 100% get that unforeseen things come up but it takes so little effort to communicate with a customer. 1) I shouldn't have needed to reach out to him each time he needed to postpone, he could have been respectful of my time by updating me and 2) Ghosted by a mechanic is not a good way to build up your business!!! BTW, Estala, changes $100 a hour which after I did a little digging is WAY higher than the norm for a mobile mechanic. Finally around 8pm when I still hadn't heard back from Estala, I decided to call a different company. Not only did they answer right away, he actually SHOWED up when he said he would, fixed my car really quick and charged me less than what I would have paid at a regular mechanic. Total cost was $480 for a new Starter (parts + labor) on a BMW!!! So, I should probably be thanking Estala for ghosting me as it ended up saving me money.
