He encouraged me to take it for a thorough test drive and never made me feel rushed or pressured. Every question I asked was answered honestly and professionally. Their professionalism, transparency, and customer service exceeded every expectation I had. As the owner of Another Plumber, I rely on dependable vehicles to serve my customers, and I couldn't be happier with this experience. I'll absolutely be purchasing my next work vehicle from Tony and his team. Without a doubt, this was the best vehicle-buying experience I've ever had. Your email appeared to be a general acknowledgment rather than a meaningful response addressing the specific concerns I raised regarding my experience with Javier Vasquez. I took the time to explain what happened because I expected my concerns to be taken seriously. Unfortunately, your response did not provide any details about the steps taken to address the situation or how Mossy Toyota intends to prevent similar incidents in the future. Additionally, I was encouraged to contact your dealership for further discussion, but no direct phone number or email address was provided to facilitate that communication. If Mossy Toyota genuinely wants to address my concerns, I would appreciate being contacted directly by a manager who can discuss this matter with me. I look forward to receiving a more meaningful response. Sincerely, Saied Jafari

He found the right Escalade, managed every conversation with the dealership, coordinated the purchase and delivery, and also handled the sale of our Mercedes G63, including the buyer and pickup. All we had to do was sign paperwork and transfer money when needed. For such a reasonable fee, the amount of time and headache he saved us was incredible. This experience honestly made me understand why brokers are becoming the future of car buying. We're so happy with how everything turned out and will absolutely continue using Z for future purchases and sales. What stood out from the beginning was the transparency. Modern's fee was clearly explained upfront, and Z took the time to explain how the process worked and what he would handle for me. I was also very specific about the car: an IONIQ 5 Limited RWD in Digital Teal with the Dark Green interior, with no dealer-added accessories. At a time when buyers in other parts of the country were reporting waiting lists for this model, Z found the exact combination I wanted at Riverside Hyundai. Just seven days after my first contact with him, I got the call that my car was available. He also negotiated a deal I was very happy with and structured the lease with $0 out of pocket at signing, with the available Hyundai and California incentives covering the drive-off costs. What I appreciated most was that Z didn't disappear once he found the car. He stayed involved through the credit application, contract, and delivery process. Before I signed, he gave me the exact numbers and terms I should see in the contract so I could make sure everything matched what we had agreed to. He also prepared me for the finance conversation and told me to contact him before agreeing to anything additional if something changed. That made the whole process much less stressful. Instead of trying to decipher a lease contract and dealership finance conversation on my own, I had someone knowledgeable in my corner who already knew exactly what the deal was supposed to look like. Z was responsive, straightforward, and easy to work with throughout the process. I would definitely use Modern Auto Brokers again.

The truck was priced better than any comparable truck in San Diego, and we literally left Mossy Ford to go buy it. When we arrived, we expected the advertised special to be ready for us to see. Instead, it was buried in the back of the lot. Our salesperson, Josh, was first-class throughout the entire process. He was professional, helpful, and genuinely wanted to earn our business. After the test drive, we went inside to write up what should have been a slam-dunk deal. Josh's manager, Mike, was leaving, so the deal was handed over to another sales manager, whose name I believe was Stephen. That is where everything fell apart. Josh returned with numbers that were approximately $20,000 higher than the advertised online price. The proposal appeared to include every possible add-on and inflated charge they could fit into the deal. It felt like the sales manager was attempting to take advantage of my son because he is a younger buyer. That approach might work on an inexperienced customer, but I have been in sales for 35 years. I asked to speak with the manager and questioned whether he was new or even familiar with the dealership's advertised pricing. He then asked me what the online price was. It is his responsibility to know the dealership's advertised specials before presenting a customer with numbers that are $20,000 higher. I genuinely feel bad for Josh because he did everything right and lost what should have been an easy sale because of the way his management handled the deal. We left Kearny Mesa Ford, returned to Mossy Ford, and purchased a truck from them instead. I had purchased a vehicle from Kearny Mesa Ford a couple of years ago, but after this experience, I will not be returning. Mossy Ford earned our business and will be our dealership going forward.

KM is now under their ownership and this dealership brings with it all aspects of shady and terrible practices. I'll try my best to condense this but its a lot to cover. DO NOT take your vehicle to be serviced here DO NOT work with their slimy salespeople DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT consider one of their "certified" pre-owned vehicles SERVICE:After over a decade of being a VW customer at this location (see former glowing review), I can tell you this is not the same dealership and I was pretty blindsided in discovering this. I've tried to shop around for other mechanics but having a German diesel vehicle has pretty much priced me locked in for services and I liked having all work history at a location. So I did a major service again. 2 Months later, a major fuel-related issue happened while entering the freeway....twice. Given the proximity to the service, it was understandable for me to think 'maybe the tech did something wrong, and quickly brought it in for diagnosis. Without barely looking at it, I was told to replace the in-fuel (low pressure) fuel pump. I was also told the 'good news' there was no metal debris present. I was told this fixes it 90% of the time. Then 30 mins later I was texted again, didn't fix it, we now have to replace the high pressure fuel pump "and see." I stopped all work on it and was now out $850. We carefully drove the car home where it's sat in the garage as I weighed my options. Well guess what? A very kind, diesel expert mechanic was able to come for a house call second opinion. He spent about 5 mins unscrewing the cap of the fuel filter (one of the items I just replaced) and there are metal shards. The car is done. The entire fuel system is lost. And the VW tech stated no metal was found and to just go ahead and replace the HPFP (a job they list as about $5k). Their expert best tech either didn't check a very basic thing, or straight up lied to get me to pay for a replacement that would have failed from a compromised system. VW corporate: This is a very big deal. I am hoping you are paying attention. This is a soon to be BBB claim. SALES: On the day I was told my car needed the HPFP replaced (before learning about the metal in the system) , I considered the option of getting a certified pre-owned electric car that had just come in. It was truly a casual inquiry. The salesman was friendly and down to earth, and shared that if we wanted to put down a deposit, no one else could consider the car (which seemed to be a rare inventory). It still needed to be serviced and cleaned, so I went ahead and did that just to secure a first look. Again, this was a casual inquiry and the friendly guy said "no pressure, if you change your mind you get the deposit back." This returned lease started to rub me the wrong way. In only 2 years it had 42,000 miles on it and it was returned extremely dirty. Carfax showed it was never brought in for service nor recalls corrected. I expressed my concerns and the sales guy just saw dollar signs of a deposit on the car and thought I committed. I wanted to see how it was cleaned up. They rushed everything with that guy seeing it as a done deal. We came in and immediately I saw coffee stains still on the armrest. Couldn't even clean it. The display screen was massively delayed on touch, the compartments abused. When we returned to the lot, the child lock was turned on for the back seat and wouldn't unlock. The guy laughed it off and said something about it being quirky. Was he this oblivious? Smiling, he asked if I was paying cash or wanted to finance. I told him I was not buying this car. Suddenly his demeanor completely changed and he decided to try some gender biased guilt trip on me... "Did I do something wrong? My manager is telling me he thinks I did something wrong." What kind of awful sales tactic is this? I felt like I was on a 2nd tinder date with someone who had no awareness. "Why did you come back then?" He demanded. Um... to get my $1,000 deposit back? Then the uncomfortable trying to sweat us out with waiting and returning with more terrible offers for a defective used car. It probably took 30 minutes to finally get my card refunded. I contacted the service manager about my experience (again, this was before finding out there is metal all over the fuel system) and their new young service manager has zero customer service skills or empathy. He ignored emails and blew me off after initiating another call. I filled out the service survey (they try to guilt you into giving them 5 stars for everything regardless of your experience) and said I wanted to be contacted in follow-up, and nothing. I contacted VW CARE with a thoughtfully written email and was replied to with a no subject canned response blowing me off. VW: You have clearly learned nothing from Dieselgate.

From the very beginning, the experience was a mess. I first called to ask about the part and was shuffled back and forth between the parts department and service department, which was already frustrating. When I finally reached someone, the employee was kind and told me to come in so they could check it out. A few days later, I showed up in person and the same thing happened -- bounced between parts and service, multiple employees who didn't seem trained or aware of how to help with a simple issue. Eventually, Michael helped me and assured me they would order the part ASAP. He gave me the price, said they could install it, and I confirmed the cost multiple times to avoid any surprises. I asked if I should pay now or get some kind of confirmation or estimated date, but they gave me nothing. Strange, but since they're the Acura dealership, I trusted them. They offered a free car wash while I waited -- and I regret accepting it. It took over an hour, even after I mentioned I was pressed for time and just needed the car checked. Once it was finally done, I had to keep asking for updates because it felt like they forgot about me. I left with no paperwork, no confirmation, nothing... but still hopeful they'd follow through. A month later, nothing. No call, no update, no part. After three weeks, I called to check in. The person who answered had no idea what I was talking about. It was like the order never existed. He said he would talk to Michael and get back to me. Of course, no one ever did. No call, no email, nothing. This place is unprofessional, disorganized, and clearly not on top of anything. I wish I hadn't wasted my time coming here or waiting for them. Now I have to start the entire process over somewhere else. Would not recommend this dealership at all.

So I thought to myself, "Why not try them out"? instead of going through the Costco buying service that I'd been contemplating using. I spoke with Grant Ruthenberg and told him the model I was interested in. He explained the he receives a fee from the dealership but he'd be working to get me the best price. He got back to me the very next day with what I was looking for. Ever the skeptic, I ran his proposal and the invoice through ChatGPT and asked if I'd gotten a reasonable deal. ChatGPT answered, "FINAL VERDICT: This is a fair, clean, and pretty good deal. You could spend weeks calling dealers and possibly not do better. You're not being overcharged. The numbers match reality. And the transparency is excellent." So who was I to argue? I told Grant to go ahead with the purchase and he told me the car could be delivered the next day. I was informed about the ETA of delivery and given a more precise ETA as they had more info (the car was coming from Riverside and I'm in Bonita). Grant had me sign the paperwork and explained what I was signing when questions arose. I gave him the check and then we went out, sat in the SUV and he explained all the new features.
