I'm an Army veteran and I handled this the right way: calls, patience, follow-ups, numerous conversations with their manager Mike. The day I said I'd had enough, his position was still that I could go to the DMV myself or wait another three weeks. Dismissive from start to finish. On 8/27 I showed up in person with the lender's paid-in-full letter. Only then did they hand over my check -- dated 7/27, two days after the sale. It existed nearly the whole time they were telling me they couldn't pay. The car had already been resold. (Keep-or-cut sentence:) Nothing in the bill of sale I signed conditions payment on the title. If you sell them your car, demand a payment date in writing. Every date above is documented.

So much so once on the phone that I had to make a complaint and speak with a different mechanic who could compose himself as a decent human being. They once repeatedly insisted that I needed a new compressor BEFORE even looking at my car and even AFTER I told them that I had just had it replaced 2 months ago. Then insulted my normal mechanic who had done the job, insinuating that he didn't know how to install a compressor. Without knowing him, and again, without having looked at the engine. Awkward much? Shockingly, it wasn't the compressor. It was an air leak as I had said in the first place and that they had failed to find in the end. Took it to a non saab mechanic. I used to take it here for diagnosis when something was really tricky but I'll be glad never to go back here again. Good news is, they were so difficult that I learned how to do a few things myself to avoid being held hostage to ignorance. Just replaced my vacuum lines, ignition coils and spark plugs myself. The car left me stranded and had to be towed back to the dealership and was accepted by them. It has been there 3 days and nothing is being done. I did not even drive it 100 miles! While being towed, I was informed by the tow truck driver that the emergency gear device had been removed. This makes towing the car impossible in emergency situations. It has a 'no warranty' status, and a waiver for a service contract, however, being 75, I drove the car very little, 100 miles or under. I can cancel the check from my Credit Union, but I loose my $1000,00 down as they say they had a 'no refund' policy, but that is not stated in the sales contract. I still don't have a car, and I lose my money. Meanwhile, I am missing important medical appointments.
