The owner called me and said it was the worst possible scenario and would cost the highest price they charge. I trusted them and paid the full amount, hoping to have a reliable car again. The car drove once and then wouldn't start. When I called to report the issue, they immediately tried to blame me--saying it must have been something I did. It turned out the computer programming (which they outsourced to another company across the street) was done incorrectly. I had to pay out of pocket to tow my car back to them, and the owner refused to reimburse me, arguing with me the entire time. They kept my car for another full week. When I finally picked it up, it started--but the A/C no longer worked, even though it was working perfectly before. When I called, the owner dismissed it and said it was just a "coincidence" that it went out at the same time. Every time I brought up a concern, he backpedaled to avoid responsibility. Later, a mechanic inspected the A/C and said it looked like parts were broken--right around where they would have installed the battery. On top of that, the incorrect programming kept frying my battery, and I had to buy two replacements. When I got my car back the second time, the brackets for the battery weren't even reinstalled--they were just left on the floor of the car. The final straw was when I noticed greasy, oily handprints all over the inside roof and visor above the driver seat. When I called to ask about it, the owner responded sarcastically with: "You're upset about a little dirt inside the car?" He was incredibly rude, did poor-quality work, broke things, and refused to take accountability for any of it. To this day--five months later--my car still isn't fully repaired. It continues to have issues, but I'm too afraid to bring it back to them even though I have a warranty through their shop. That's how little trust I have in them now. I ended up having to take out a second loan and buy a new car because I had already paid everything I had to fix this one--and they left me with an unreliable mess. This place caused more damage than repair and has zero professionalism or integrity. Avoid them at all costs.

When I picked the vehicle up, I immediately noticed that the check-engine light was on and brought it to the staff's attention. I was told the technician had apparently seen the check-engine light when the vehicle was brought in and didn't notify anyone. Then nobody notified me about it before I picked the vehicle up. What frustrated me most was that I had no idea there was an issue until I got back into my vehicle. The paperwork states that the check-engine and ABS lights were "on prior to service," while also stating that both lights went off during their test drive. I asked for documentation of the diagnostic codes but was told they couldn't provide me with a printed report. My advice to anyone leaving a vehicle here: take a picture/video of your dashboard, including the warning lights and mileage, before handing over your keys. I wish I had done that.

I brought my car to Christian Brothers Automotive for a single issue. They performed an inspection…read moreand gave me a list of recommended repairs totaling over $3,200. Trusting their expertise, I approved about $2,000 of the work. I declined their "urgent" $538 rear brake pad replacement because shortly afterward, a dealership inspection found all four pads were at 7mm and healthy. When I questioned Christian Brothers about this, they only offered to "re-measure" them. They also overfilled my engine oil by about half an inch above the maximum mark on the dipstick. When I brought it back, they corrected it but initially told me the overfill was "fine." The biggest issue happened after I paid them $240 for a coolant flush. Before their coolant service, I had no check engine light or thermostat issue. 2 weeks after the flush, my check engine light came on with a thermostat-related code. I got a second opinion and was told to check the coolant level because an improperly performed flush can leave air trapped in the cooling system. When we opened the hood, the coolant reservoir was completely EMPTY. I brought it back to Christian Brothers and showed them the empty reservoir. Instead of investigating whether their coolant service had been done incorrectly, they argued that the engine had simply "used up" the coolant. They then told me the thermostat needed to be replaced and wanted to charge me over $500. I did not replace the thermostat. I demanded they complete the job properly and fill the coolant reservoir to the proper level. I have now driven the car for about a week and the check engine light has completely gone away and has NOT returned. So, in my experience, they performed a coolant flush, left the reservoir empty, a check engine light appeared afterward, and then they tried to charge me $500+ for a thermostat that did not need to be replaced. Correcting the coolant level resolved the problem. Christian Brothers is NOT a cheap shop. Their prices are extremely high for most services, while the quality of their work and accuracy of their diagnoses have repeatedly been terrible and incorrect. Wrong about the brake pads. Overfilled my oil. Performed a coolant flush that left the reservoir empty. Then tried to charge me for the resulting problem instead of correcting their own work. I have completely lost confidence in this shop. I would NEVER return and strongly recommend STAYING AWAY. Get a second opinion before approving any expensive or "urgent" repair they recommend.
