While looking for a quick lunch bite, I decided to try out this new Greek restaurant in McGinley square. Upon entry, you can make an order on their kiosks. However, you cant pay by app or make a customization there. Their bowls for $11.95 initially caught my eye. They had an all day $8 gyro sandwich promo too, but I wanted a bigger serving so I went for the beef kebab with rice/fries and Tzatziki sauce. Everything tasted good and fresh, but lightly seasoned. If the dishes were more flavorful they would be great. The serving size was great with a large beef portion and generous sides. They have a large, clean seating area with tables. They also have child high chairs available. Although they don't have servers, the clerk was nice enough to come assist with requests for things like a condiments. Overall, the food was very good, the prices were reasonable, and the service was good. I'll definitely visit again! read more

It's unfortunate I have to do this but the service my partner received at this establishment was so blatantly disrespectful that I have to put it out there for others who may have experienced the same. Upon entering Tros my partner waited to order something and the person working (the manager who he later learned was named Andres-?) was on the phone at the counter. The manager then proceeds to "shoo" him away by waving his hand. Who does that? Is he a child? Is this what a decent establishment does to potential customers? Perhaps he was busy (there was no one else in the restaurant but a police officer, who we later learned was lieutenant Rodriguez, waiting for his food). So my partner said "I'm going to use the restroom" and the manager rudely responds "don't you read the sign? Restrooms are for customers only." This exchange escalated to a place it simply didn't need to go if only the "manager" exhibited any customer service. He was uncouth and disgusting. And I believe his behavior was dismissive and disrespectful because of my partner's appearance. Will we ever return? Absolutely not. No one needs what appears to be extremely mediocre Greek food by what we can see in the pictures, especially when this is the way a manager behaves. Gross attitude, gross management. read more

Tro's Greek Street Food is absolutely worth the stop. The place is spacious and very clean, and the staff were friendly and welcoming from the moment I walked in. The food came out in under 20 minutes, which was impressive given how fresh and well-cooked everything was. For just $28, I got enough food to easily feed three people, such an amazing value. What a great addition to the area! Excellent service, even if you go up to the counter and order yourself. Runny, the chick working the counter, helped us out. We wanted our greek fries reheated and she was helpful with that. the owner came in and spoke to us and introduced us to his son. very friendly people and i hope this location does well. we each grabbed a pita sandwich. one was gyro and one was chicken. both were jammed to the max with filling. i liked the chicken shaved gyro meat, lots of flavor. we also grabbed the greek fries. i wish there was lemon on them, or more of it. i felt they were missing something. they felt dry. orange cake for dessert - an absolute must get. its always juicy and drowned in orange flavor. this is my favorite item by them. we also tried the Bougatsa - which was a pleasant surprise. i loved the flakey shell and the custard inside. it was heated up. loved it. looking forward to coming back! read more

It was my first time trying Tro's Greek Street Food and it did not disappoint. I loved the aesthetic of this place, once I walked in I felt like it was luxury. Tro's wasn't too busy when I went I believe partially because of the area it is in on Reed St. and Bergen Avenue in Jersey City. I ordered a build my own platter and got chicken skewers, basmati rice, and tzatziki. I really enjoyed it. It tasted super fresh, the chicken was juicy and the lettuce was crisp and on point. The pita was definitely a great additive to the platter. I will definitely be going back to try some other stuff. Awesome spot! read more

Pretty good fast casual Greek spot! Stands out here in the McGinley square neighborhood as there aren't many good options in the neighborhood. My favorite is the lamb kebabs but the chicken is pretty good as well. Greek salad is good on the side as well. They have a seating area but I usually get take out. read more

Stopped in for a quick bite with my friend. Service was quick and friendly. Salads were fresh and good size portion. We also got the trio dips which were soooo tasty! My favorite was the eggplant. Finally got to try them one hot afternoon. We liked the decor and the interesting ceiling. They have cashier and kiosks for ordering. Plenty of selections and healthy choices. We got a few items with BBQ with soda and water. Food took a bit to make but no an issue. All well made, hot and fresh. Plenty of online order pick up during our visit. We've been back a couple more times since the initial visit. Oh and get the orange cake. You won't regret it. Tros gets a high recommendation. read more

Won't even get started with how horrible delivery was because it was conducted by Grubhub. But the quality of the food is blatantly awful. Absolutely no Orzo in the "Orzo Chicken" soup. All the meat is tough, and they don't even give you actual lamb when you pay extra for it. Will obviously take this up with them directly, but this restaurant is garbage. Saw this place open near me and also saw they have the gyro special. Once you enter you see the place very clean and neat and that is a big up for me. We were greeted by the server and he was very plesant, another plus for me. The food was so good that I didn't even get to take a picture of it! So so good!! The chicken gyro was excellent! There's a cashier and kiosks, so comfortable if you don't feel like talking to order. I ordered a chicken gyro added onion taziki and feta. No taziki was on the gyro and I didn't expect the feta to be a spread and the chicken wasn't my favorite. But it does feel like $14.18 for a gyro is a lot. As I was driving around my new neighborhood where I moved to I saw this hidden gem. It must have been new as they said they have been only open for a month so far. I used to go to the hoboken location for my Greek fix of a Greek salad. Pork souvlaki and rice pudding. The food here is exactly the same and will not disappoint. I was very impressed with the quality of the food here especially considering it's affordability. The store is bright & clean with plenty of tables if you want to dine in. The bathrooms are also very clean. I ordered the salmon & was extremely impressed with the quality & seasoning of the fish. The true star here though is Saba, who was working the counter, & expertly walked me through the menu & provided excellent customer service to every patron & delivery driver who walked through the door. She greeted everyone by name & effortlessly made small talk while happily attending to her duties. We ordered a Chicken Soulaki platter and Salmon. When I opened the platter, the food smelled weird. The salmon was okay and the chicken was okay but the rice had a very bad stale smell, looked like they mixed some left over rice and it spread to the pita bread too. I recently decided to get food from this restaurant. I had passed by it a couple of times since it's been in Jersey City but had not tried it. I am ever so glad I finally did. I was unsure what to order and the woman at the register was very patient as I looked over the menu and asked questions. She informed me that the classic Yeero chicken pita gyro is a bestseller so I ordered it. OMG!!! Absolute deliciousness! The french fries with shaved chicken and the sauce all complimented each other and the pita was warm and soft. I recommended it to a neighbor friend who tried it today and agreed with me that it was very delicious. I will return soon and hope I can be open to something else on the menu knowing that I will be tempted to order this sandwich again. The service was also good, very friendly workers. To my fellow Jersey City neighbors, give this place a try, lets keep it in our "hood" I highly recommend it and will be telling more people about it. read more
