I recommend the chicken sandwich with fries meal - both items were crispy and delicious. However, my meal only came with lettuce. Not a big deal since I'm not a fan of tomato, but if you want more on your sandwich, make sure you say that when ordering. I'm not a fan of the fried chicken, but it is just a matter of preference. I like bone-in fried chicken, and the chicken served here is similar to the Taiwanese fried chicken cutlet - a large boneless fried chicken with dark meat. 98k is definitely worth dining at and is better than the average fried food restaurant. I had their Italian sandwich on a hard roll, and I can say, without a shadow of a doubt, it's the best one I have ever eaten. It's truly a mystery how they do it. The ingredients themselves aren't groundbreaking, yet the combination, the freshness, the sheer perfection of it all, elevates it far beyond any other Italian sandwich I've ever encountered. Perhaps it's the legendary fresh hard roll from Tringali's, or maybe, just maybe, it's a touch of culinary black magic - whatever it is, it works! This sandwich alone was absolutely worth the 30-minute drive to get my hands on it. And as if the sandwich wasn't enough, Ventimiglia's is also a fantastic Italian market! It's an absolute treasure trove where you can easily grab some amazing little Italian deliciousness, whether it's a refreshing lemon soda, a unique can of sardines, or some bubbly water. Ventimiglia's Italian Food offers a truly great experience from start to finish. If you're looking for an unforgettable Italian sandwich and a delightful market to explore, you simply must visit!

Though I am fond of the new pickle slices/chips that they have, they now have crinkle fries, when you order a deluxe, it no longer comes with the coleslaw and the fries. Speaking of the coleslaw, that has completely changed and includes black olives! You know how they used to put the meat in the pot and let it boil a little bit before they put it on the fryer? That is no longer a thing, which makes the meat less flavorful and moist. Definitely don't have to come back here again for a while.

They have an extensive menu to include vegetarian options which was nice to see. They also have many local brands to include chips, sodas, and other small local business products (caramelized nuts, baked goods, etc.)! On the topic of local businesses, they also had a board which allowed local owners to post business cards and event alerts, fantastic for drawing the community together. Now, I ordered a Reuben as a lover of corned beef and sauerkraut. It was delicious and sizeable, a fair portion size for the money as well. The chips were also delicious having gone for the salt, pepper, and onion variety. A solid crunch and bursting with flavor. Among the positives I have two negatives, both of which are not adequate enough to lower their star ranking. Firstly, it took around 20-25 minutes to get our food after ordering. I rarely hold timing against a restaurant as having worked in food, I know lunch rush exists and things happen. To mitigate this (for those in the area) I believe they have an online ordering system, which I would recommend utilizing! Secondly, they do not have indoor seating, so it is a very grab and go type establishment. This is counteracted by the multitude of benches around Royal Oak, though it would be nice to have some amount of seating, especially for those with accessibility needs and those waiting on their food. Overall, Oak House Deli is solid and delicious and I will definitely stop by again when I am in the area!
