    Glorified smoothie.

Service: Counter service; number given and called when order's up. Menu boards on walls: 4 general bowl choices -- ACAI (ah-sigh-yee, please), PITAYA, GREEN, and BANANA. Those are the bases, and various combos and toppings are additional. Young kids running the counter service. Not too knowledgeable. They JUST work there. Not engaging. Edibles: Got the Goji. Lovely, creamy Pitaya; lots of texture from toppings -- granola, banana, pineapple, coconut, goji, and honey. These are HUGE bowls, and worth sharing with a friend. It's like a glorified smoothie with natural ingredients that SHOULD(?) be good for you in a bowl and to be eaten with a spoon. This experience reminds me of the episode where George Costanza is feeling refined while eating a Snickers Bar on a plate with a fork and knife. So, it seems overpriced. But that is the cost of eating 'healthy'. Ambiance: Chain, fast-casual. So, no soul -- just flashy 'tropical' decor. FREEZING COLD INSIDE. So we sat outside for warmer temp. THIS place is THE hangout for highschool girls with highwaisted mom jeans and crop tops or hoodies and yoga pants. They all share their bowls with each other too. So, guess what their staff is like -- yep, same demographic. Of note: Lot parking. Loo stocked and clean. Overall, OK+. Healthy-ish.

The theme of playa bowls smacks you in the face the moment you walk in. Surf shack imagery, giant murals, chalkboard-style menus, leafy palms everywhere and the location splayed across the wall- just in case you forget where you are. The pura vida bowl ordered without honey is vegan. Learn from my mistake, if you forget to say no honey, this comes loaded with honey. A thick layer between the granola and açaí (probably to keep the granola from getting soggy) but even as someone who enjoyed honey prior to going plant-based, this was an extremely excessive amount. Vegan or not I would order without honey. It took scooping out multiple big gobs to get to the açaí part, which resulted in losing a lot of the granola. The staff were all super friendly and efficient making all orders. This location was steady with people in and out the entire time I was there and very busy. Even so, the staff was happy to answer any questions about their menu, which is always appreciated. Overall taste, it was fine. The bowl was loaded up with the fresh fruit toppings but the açaí didn't have as much flavor as I would hope for. Maybe that's where the honey is supposed to come in? Either way, I would give it another try and the generous toppings made up for a lot and the staff was nice but it wasn't my favorite açaí bowl I've had.

You definitely know what you're getting into at playa bowls. I think anybody who orders here knows what an açai bowl taste like. I would always get the Nutella bowl or at least add it on.

I have mixed reviews about this.. firstly, upon entering there isn't a board up to tell you what their bowls are or what is in them. You are greeted by a board with all the ingredients and products that they use which is nice but an additional board outlying some of their staples would be better. In other words, do your research before you come. The store was nice and clean and very authentic looking. The staff was professional. As far as the bowl.. for 13.99 I was not impressed. I had the berry bowl and the texture quality was weird. I'll attempt one more time with the açaí bowl and update this review .

Finally we have a Playa Bowls! If you didn't grow up on the East Coast you may know not about Playa Bowls, but they are the OG in the smoothie bowl game. They offer sooooo many kinds of bowls to choose from: acai, oatmeal, dragon fruit, banana, Chai and banana as bases with tons of different topping combos. They also have smoothies and these delicious protein bites. I was happy to see the menu is the same. I ordered my go to favorite bowl, The Jetty with half acai. That's right, they let you mix bases if you like the best of both worlds. My bowl tasted just like back home and everything was fresh and yummy. The Playa bowls back home offers poke bowls, I know not all locations offer pole but it would be cool if this location does in the future.

Still loving this spot! It's one of my favorite places to enjoy an açaí or coconut bowl. Absolutely amazing service! Great decor and clean restaurant! The new winter bowls are GREAT!

This place is the best place for the ice creams or sweet cravings that we have once in a while. The flavour, taste, ingredients everything was just so good. Loved it!!!

    Protein powder not blended

This is one of my favorite spots and i order from here at least once a week but im leaving this negative review because the last couple of times ive gotten it theres been issues. I always have protein powder added to my bowl and common sense its always blended into the base. Whoever made these just sprinkled it on top. It was so hard to mix in myself with all the toppings on it falling out and clumps of the protein powder would not mix in. I had to basically eat chunks of powder.

We are addicted! Ingredients are fresh and just so so good. This is most definitely a once a week or more stop. These bowl combinations are like you're tasting/experiencing fruit in a whole new way. Almond Joy chia based is my favorite. We've also tried the açai and coconut based bowls and they have all been 5 star as well. Super friendly and helpful staff!

It would have been a bit better if the oatmeal was only slightly easier to mix the fruit with but they were steel cut oats.

I was asking a valid question, no need to immediately jump on the defense, just answer the question. I thought water was free so I called corporate to ask about this policy and ask why a massive corporation like them feels the need to nickel and dime customers for a cup of water. I can understand paying 10 to 20 cents for the cup, but almost a dollar? Corporate confirmed my suspicion and informed me that the restaurants should NOT be charging for cold water. They are allowed to charge if it was hot water, it was not. So not only was the manager wrong, but she was rude to me about it too. Not returning to this or maybe any other Tim's locations if this is how they treat their customers. I also didn't appreciate how she immediately blamed the employees and spoke negatively about them to a customer, implying that they have done something wrong (when they haven't) especially since SHE is the one who is incorrect. I apologize to the kind employees I have met who have to work with this lady, you all are very nice. This potential manager is the first bad employee I have interacted with here. Edited to add: A male manager called and doubled down on everything and said the rude employee was in the right and they have been charging for water for 2 years. Unsure where the disconnect is between the franchises and corporate as I am getting different information from both. That seals the deal, I'm done with Tims. Good to know you think it's okay for the employees to be rude to customers as well.
