Many of the TH locations in SE Michigan are still operating as drive thru only. Just like this one. At least that's the note on the door at 7:00pm on Sunday. At least their hours are accurately reported (unlike many of the local shoppes). From a drive-thru perspective, these guys were terrific. I'm leaving a one because, every time I go, I ask for a sandwich that's supposed to have sauce on it and they never put the sauce. I also asked for no cheese and they put cheese on my sandwich. The Tim Hortons in West Bloomfield always give you hash browns with the steak egg wrap. Apparently, at this one you have to ask for it. First off, the cheese tastes nasty in the wraps. So I did not enjoy my wrap. The person at the window confirmed there was no cheese but, there was. The cheese was really nasty that, I couldn't eat it. I end up throwing the rest of it out. Went there this morning and was charged $.89 cents for a cup of water. I asked the employee at the window (who I now assume is a manager) kindly if the policy had changed as I hadn't remembered being charged before and she immediately jumped on the defense and snippily said "well if you have been getting it for free then the employees are in trouble because they aren't allowed to do that" etc. Like... I was asking a valid question, no need to immediately jump on the defense, just answer the question. I thought water was free so I called corporate to ask about this policy and ask why a massive corporation like them feels the need to nickel and dime customers for a cup of water. I can understand paying 10 to 20 cents for the cup, but almost a dollar? Corporate confirmed my suspicion and informed me that the restaurants should NOT be charging for cold water. They are allowed to charge if it was hot water, it was not. So not only was the manager wrong, but she was rude to me about it too. Not returning to this or maybe any other Tim's locations if this is how they treat their customers. I also didn't appreciate how she immediately blamed the employees and spoke negatively about them to a customer, implying that they have done something wrong (when they haven't) especially since SHE is the one who is incorrect. I apologize to the kind employees I have met who have to work with this lady, you all are very nice. This potential manager is the first bad employee I have interacted with here. Edited to add: A male manager called and doubled down on everything and said the rude employee was in the right and they have been charging for water for 2 years. Unsure where the disconnect is between the franchises and corporate as I am getting different information from both. That seals the deal, I'm done with Tims. I wanted a honey cruller and sour cream donut but they both didn't have them and then they didn't have vanilla cream when I asked. Unbelievable. So I literally asked for a random donut that I thought they would have which is vanilla dip. So I got that and THEN they ran out of cookies that I wanted! So I just got my one donut and a croissant sandwich and when I got it, it was so burnt and tossed in a bag in had to eat it without the bread like at least I was saving carbs but cmon don't feed me burnt food that tasted like fire ashes! I asked for a napkins and a straw when I was in the drive-thru when I received it they throw it at me for no reason I was never rude to them very nice and they also made my drink wrong and I was nice not to say anything and drink it. Juvet a worker at this Tim Horton told me that they take this coupon, after ringing in my order of a large Iced cap he said my total was $7+ where the cost before the coupon is $3.49 coupon plus the coupon clearly says it should be $2. Honestly this Tim Horton's has gone down hill. This morning after buying my coffee threw the Drive- Thru, I tried to buy a canister of coffee while paying for it. The lady behind the window told me "Nope, your total is already done, and if you wanted that, I would have to come inside for it"...... I've always bought my canisters of coffee this way. This deadly coffee shop is right on my way to work. I am Canadian by birth and grew up at these stores all across Southern Ontario. The staff is usually always on the ball at this location. I found out that one of the servers at the window is also from my hometown area and is passionate about Hockey and Tim Horton's coffee like I am. There is a specific ratio of coffee to cream/sugar that needs to be met when a double/double is ordered. All Canadian Coffee drinkers understand this when it comes to Tim Hortons. If it's off by just a bit - it's not the right Timmies experience. It is rare that this location gets it wrong. I am normally very happy with my purchases here - they meet all expectations to my Canadian taste. I now stop here quite regularly for at least a cup of coffee, if not more. I am beyond thrilled that Timmies is now in Rochester and that there is usually a line up at the drive thru (although it clears quickly with the speedy drive-thru services). Hopefully my regular attendance will aid this location to become a permanent coffee stop in R-Hills. My Canadian heart is overflowing with joy (and coffee). **A technical mention here - as of 9/23/14, the location on the map on this Yelp page is inaccurate. The address is correct (940 S Rochester Rd) but the picture of it's location shows it in a local subdivision. I can't figure out a way to notify Yelp so they can edit this glitch. Tim Hortons Rochester Hills MI located on Rochester road near Avon. This locations does not fill its cups it missing about 20 % of the coffee. I ordered the medium French vanilla. This location has very generously donated coffee for several events hosted by the local PTA organizations in Rochester. I go to this Tim Hortons every day that I work. The workers at this location are usually fairly nice and welcoming except for this one guy that is really rude every single time. I can accept the "he's having a bad day" thing once in a while but when he's intentionally rude every time I come it's going to be an issue. I didn't make him fill out an application and work there so why is he so rude to me? I don't know. He's gotten my order wrong at least a hand full of times as well. I like the sandwiches and love donuts, but I've never had a good specialty coffee drink here! I swear, 4 out of 5 times I've been here, I've asked for a frappuccino or latte or something and they're "cleaning the machines" and can't make 3/4 of the coffee drinks... I love clean coffee machines, but it's a little ridiculous. Then, when I do get a drink, the iced tea I ordered tasted like coffee grounds, or the plain iced latte I bought today actually has coffee grounds in it! It didn't have much coffee taste to it (except when I sucked grounds up the straw) and it was really bland. I have been to this location on multiple occasions and every single time I have had a bad experience. I keep hoping that the next time I go there it will be better but it never is. I am just happy that there is another Tim Hortons opening up a few miles away from this location so that I can receive the service a customer should receive. If someone buys a sandwich, they should get a napkin, at least one napkin. On my trip previous to this one, I decided I would stop at Tim Hortons and treat my Dr's office to a treat. I bought a whole bunch of timbits and some coffee. When I got to the window the girl told me that they couldn't follow my request of which timbits I wanted because it's up to the location's discretion and they can give me whatever they want in my timbits box. When I stop by at 5:30am (an hour and a half after they open), they often tell me that the donuts I am requesting aren't ready yet....but they don't even bake them at the store. So either they can't be bothered to get them out of the freezer to thaw in time, or they are not getting the correct quantities shipped to them. I requested a 20 pack of assorted Timbits and they had NONE available. Another time that I stopped for a 20 pack of assorted Timbits for my son's birthday at school, we opened the boxes at his school and they were all plain except for 3 chocolate. I called to complain and was told I needed to call and order a few days prior in order to ensure variety. To me, that is unacceptable. My drinks are also made sloppily - they skimp on the toppings for their Oreo frappes. This location has gone downhill over the last few years.
