And by god, was I impressed. It's a small little sandwich shop off of Michigan Ave that has seating for maaaybe 20 people. I ordered the spicy chicken sandwich to go, and when I got home to open my box, my jaw dropped. These guys put not one, but TWO mf chicken breast cutlets on this poor, poor bun. Topped with delicious house made pickles (their namesake), a fresh and tangly slaw, and a spicy oily sauce, this thing was a behemoth. And for, like, $15?? This is two meals for the average person. My only complaint was that the bun simply could not shoulder the monstrous burden of what it contained. Additionally, dude the fries are phenomenal. And they absolutely LOAD you up. Get the truffle upcharge, it's worth it I promise. I have been a Two Beards fan for the better part of the past 15 years, but man, in terms of value, The Toasted Pickle takes the cake. I can't wait to experience whatever else these guys are whipping up behind the counter.

You know Rico's is doing something right when they boast a perfect 5 star rating!…read more Rico, Jessica and Lupe were very gracious when I called in my order at 1:59pm when they were due to close from 2-5pm. They made me a delicious panini grilled cheese and veggie sandwich that was a perfect compliment to the recommended chili. I added onions and cheese to my chili and it was phenomenal! Flavorful and the exact right amount of spice. The whole mom 'n pop shop had fun add-ons that could be purchased like candy cigarettes, local pops and delicious sounding pints of ice-cream. I'm happy I found this little gem. Maybe next time I should test their pizza. Sold by the slice during the day for 3-4 bucks a slice. Definitely recommend the paninis and chili. Good deal for $13 and much tastier and more food than Panera bread's U pick 2. This place deserves all the business! Friendly and affordable. Support local, your stomach will thank you.

I think the Chicago dog and the Italian Beef with the au jus on the side were solid, but nothing to write back home to Chicago about. Better than Portillo's, kind of reminded me of Mr. Beef almost. Getting the sandwich wet is usually the rite of passage, but I went for the au jus on the side. Don't make the mistake I did. Everything just falls out of it when you tilt the sandwich to dip it. Also, if you think you can eat hot giardiniera peppers, just think for a quick sec longer because these ones were pretty hot for someone who has a decent heat tolerance.

We stopped in for a drink and ended up catching two different live jazz bands, which was such a great surprise and made it a really fun place to hang out for a while. We both had beers, shared a Chicago dog, and ordered wings. The Chicago dog was good, but the wings were advertised as crispy and unfortunately they were definitely not crispy. So I'd probably skip those next time. Other than that, service was good, prices were very reasonable, and we really enjoyed the laid-back atmosphere and live music. Nothing fancy, just a cool little local spot to grab a beer, listen to some jazz and hang out. We'd definitely stop in again--just not for the wings! they say crispy on the menu yeah not so much. The face wasn't dirty so that's nice. There is an outdoor seating area as well as indoor.

It has to be from a bakery, it cant be homemade. Reservations on weekends is for 12+ party. Besides the amazing service. The food is amazing! The cinnamon rolls are the best cinnamon rolls I have ever had. We got it without the bacon. It was flaky and warm and just so delicious. For my entree I got the breakfast sandwich with vegan sausage and no egg and side of potatoes. It was also very good. The biscuit is very soft and buttery. All the entrees were huge portions and enough for some leftovers. I will definitely go back even just for the cinnamon roll and the service! The Hawaiian mac salad was tasty, but was a little heavy handed on the red onion for my own personal preference. When I arrived my order was waiting for me - it was nicely packaged and secure so everything was safely contained for my short drive home. The sandwich wasn't very melty, I ended up heating it up in a pan myself which helped. It was super tasty, though! I love the combination of cheeses. The steak and mushroom soup was really good, with chunks of meat in a creamy broth. The snert soup was very salty! The menu description indicated the snert soup should have sausage or kielbasa in it, but we didn't notice any. The restaurant itself is pretty small with limited seating, but I'd probably just order there next time. You can also get samples.
