Service was polite and quick (there was no wait). My wrap was warm (from the jerk chicken)... the first half I ate lacked any jerk spice, but the second half was spicy...Too bad it was not evenly distributed. I did not notice extra tomatoes, so I might be disappointed with the standard portion. The pineapple salsa was nice and did balance the spiciness. The kale and apple slaw was a small side with a $1.29 upcharge... it was quite small, but seemed fresh and was as described. I have been to many tropical smoothies and order the same thing. This was my first time visiting this location and the employee that helped me wasn't the best. She was very short and quick with taking my order and looked like she didn't want to be there. For the actual menu item I got, I ordered a smoothie that came out more like juice and there were still chunks of fruit at the bottom. The flavor was normal and it tasted great I just wish it was thicker and fully blended. But the flatbread was literally almost inedible, there was so much soggy lettuce and way too much sauce, thick tomato slices. Genuinely one of the worst customer experiences I've ever had. I work in the service industry and typically don't expect much because I understand how it is however, everybody was moving so slow that it almost seemed intentional, and seemed to have a little desire to be accommodating or helpful. I was charged for something I didn't order which I chalk up to a simple miscommunication. However, the lack of urgency or positive attitude to fix the issue was truly irritating given how long I was waiting while there were three employees behind the counter. This is my neighborhood spot to get a healthy and fast breakfast/lunch. I've always been thankful for this location since it's convenient for me and there's always parking available. The space inside is small but still has plenty of seating options and they utilize the space well. The times I've dined in, I've always found it to be clean and service is satisfactory. That's why I'm so surprised this location doesn't have a better rating! When it comes to convenience, my favorite thing is to use their online ordering system to order ahead and have my food ready once I go pick it up, I've never had to wait past the 'promised time' on my receipt nor had anything wrong with my order. Even if I go straight to the pick up area, I'm always greeted when I walk in and thanked on my way out. My favorite thing to order is their detox island green smoothie and the chia oatmeal pudding (which is a somehat addition). Highly recommend! Also, I love their edible straws. Place doesn't stay consistent with the orders. I buy acai bowls often and the portions aren't consistent. At times the bowls are full and are great, other times they are halfway full and I pay the same full price. Today I ordered the new bowls with boba, and I requested and paid extra for Nutella and again I didn't get it and it's not the first time. I've had the privilege of both eating and smoothie-ing here already and this place is great! An incredible addition to the already outstanding selection of Brookside. I've always thought it was weird that there aren't more healthy/breakfast type places on Brookside (a Panera or a Jamba Juice or something) and Tropical Smoothie Cafe is the perfect fusion of both, and opens at 7am so most anyone could pop in for a treat on their way to work or come down for a healthy lunch. The vegetarians among us will LOVE this place because there are a lot of veggie/vegan options and nearly every meat dish (mostly only chicken dishes on the menu) can be served with those meat free chicken replacement strips--yum! As far as smoothies I loved the acai berry and the kiwi kicker. They have a large number of boosters from multivitamins to fat burner they can add to your smoothie, and can also use Splenda or honey instead of sugar if you're worried about the healhiness. Food-wise the hummus veggie wrap is a MUST try--lots of awesome flavors, light and served with your choice of chips or fruit. I wish there were more breakfast options, but the peanut butter banana flatbread I had was incredible--lots of yummy honey and crunchy granola--it was gone in a flash (sorry fam). Highly recommend--this is going to be a Brookside hot spot so get in before everyone else figure out they're open! read more

Terrible service! This was the worst tropical smoothie cafe I have been to. I took my daughter there for her birthday lunch. Her quesadilla only has cheese/meat in 3 of the 4 pieces. One piece was completely empty. I thought it was not a big deal, so I went up to tell the lady working. She seriously told me that the filling was in the other pieces so it didn't matter that the fourth piece had nothing!! ‍‍ Then she told me she was busy so she missed that one. At first she refused to fill in, finally agreeing to cheese. She said "I will Give you cheese but I am not giving you chicken" But we paid for a chicken and cheese quesadilla. This place is hit or miss honestly. I do enjoy the food sometimes though. I wish they didn't put sugar in their smoothies and made it healthier but I usually just tell them no sugar. The kale apple slaw is great (sometimes) today I ordered it and it's brown and gross, looks old :( everything is good when they have it fresh but it's just hit or miss. I've always ordered vegan options and substituted chicken for their beyond meat chicken, but the nerve of the older African American lady who seemed to be a manager when I asked her if my sandwich had real chicken or beyond meat chicken in it and she flat out said "I don't know, it's probably the veggie chicken" while the young girl working register saw it and cringed, saying "that is definitely real chicken." To which I responded "that's what I thought," then explained I am vegan and asked them to remake it correctly. The manager refused, saying she suddenly remembered making my wrap and that it was correct. I told her that not only do I consistently order the same thing so I know what it should look like, but that her other worker also agrees with me so if she could remake it correctly I would greatly appreciate it. She then refused and practically kicked me out of the place before I could even pick out my chips/fruit! So not only did I pay for a wrap and chips that I did not eat, but I was accused of arguing "over something that is made correctly in the first place," when it is SO obvious to a vegan that there's real chicken in my food. The person working charged my card $114.48 instead of $11.48 and the only reason I caught this mistake was because of my banking app, the clerk didn't admit their mistake until I asked about it. When I asked when it would be returned to my card she laughed and said I don't know. Very irritating experience. I've worked in fast food and overcharging someone by $100 is not a common mistake. This is a great addition to Brookside and I will return, but today's service was atrocious. The girl at the register was training, which was fine, but it took an awfully long time to place my order with a fairly perturbed manager helping. To make matters worse, one of my smoothies didn't even make it to the order, and my kids meal was wrong. It took me at least 15 minutes to get smoothies and food, and when I asked about the missing smoothie, they just looked at me and said they didn't have an order. I wasn't about to wait any longer, so I left. For Saturday at lunch on Brookside, three people working is certainly not enough based on the foot traffic and call in orders I witnessed during my time there.
