A few months ago I got a mango magic smoothie that definitely didn't have the magic. Literally the worst smoothie I've received from TS. I called and was told when I come back again my name will be on a list for a new smoothie. I went to get my smoothie (a few months later) and was told the free replacement expires after a month. I obviously didn't know that. All they had to say was that is their policy and always has been. It would have helped if I knew I needed to return within a month of the original order. The service was horrible, with no communications! Around 9 PM, I was placing an order for a couple of smoothies, the chick who was placing my order, kept responding back with a slick and bratty tone. then I get to the window to pay for my food, and no one came until I knocked on the window seven minutes later. A little chick came to ask me what's up, and while I was telling her what's going on, she kept cut me off. I will never come to this location again! If I could give a negative star I would. Knew better than to try it again, but went for it and yet again disappointed. Chicken Pesto Flatbread that had so much pesto you could smell the garlic on the way home to find it so loaded with pesto the outside of flatbread was green. Great food establishments are not easy to come by in Saginaw, Michigan. But Tropical Smoothie Cafe gives you hope to find fresh food in the middle of nowhere. This place feels as good as any other smoothie cafe you'd find in a major city. It had add-ons such as three varieties of protein, several options for nuts and nut butters, and several choices for fruits. They have a drive through as well as a dine in. Smoothies only come in one size, 24oz. And they taste great and are a competitive price. I didn't get to try any of the other menu items, which were a variety of hot and cold salads and sandwiches. In the middle of nowhere that is Saginaw, MI, it was a true breath of fresh air and mouthful of fresh fruit to stumble upon this Tropical Smoothie Cafe. (Trust me, there aren't a *ton* of options around here...) Smoothies are AMAZING -- especially the Strawberry Kiwi -- and the food is super tasty, as well. Flat breads are more like a taco made with pita vs. the pizza-like appetizer you're used to, but they have a whole bunch of flavor and drop the cost of that smoothie you came in to order, too! Why 4 stars only? Call me picky, but the bathroom was really dirty. How does a place in the middle of nowhere have such a nasty bathroom? I don't know. But if you go here, go hungry and having recently voided, and you may just have a 5-star experience instead. ;] read more

While I typically would go to the location on State Street (with good luck) I thought I would find the same here. Not the case. It started bad with the board in the drive thru stating one price. The employee told me a price that was higher. When I questioned the employee about the price difference from the board to what I was charged, he claimed the board inside was changed but they hadn't changed the drive thru board yet. When I told him I thought it was the law that they needed to honor the stated price (pretty sure it is the law?), he just shrugged his shoulders. That was his explanation......and still charged me the wrong amount. I was hoping the flavor of my smoothie would make up for the distaste I now had for this location. Once I received my smoothie, it tasted very watered down with no flavor. You would think that their seasonal flavored smoothie with cranberries would have tartness and flavor. Tis the season, right? I honestly drove across town and threw it in the trash. I did contact the State Street location but they are not owned by the same people. Bottom line-- I don't recommend nor will I go back to the Bay Road location. read more

Went through the drive thru and ordered a sandwich meal and two kiwi quenchers. Service took forever and no one came to the window saying it was going to be a few more minutes until it was done. The kiwi quenchers taste more like jetty punch, more banana than anything and there's no banana in that smoothie. read more

We were so happy to find a tropical smoothie on our trip through Saginaw. Sad that this is probably the worst Tropical Smoothie ever. It took 25 minutes to get smoothies. They were out of chicken for both the flat bread and the tacos, they were out of chocolate for smoothies, out of sun chips, and out of pea protein. This was at 1:00 pm! Whoever is in charge of this place really needs to make some much needed changes. read more

My husband and I usually love tropical smoothie, but this one was the worst. We waited in the DRIVE THRU for 20+ minutes, trapped between cars or else we would've driven away. Our smoothie ended up bland and watery because they forgot to add our protein. Oh, and the Flatbread was sloppy: Mostly bread with very little inside. We will not return to this TS anytime soon. I also laugh at the reviewer who says Saginaw is in the middle of nowhere, you clearly haven't been to Marine City, Algonac, or St. Clair Michigan have you??!! I did find the drive through wait crazy long when I used it once, the State St. location is faster at serving (though no drive through). Ordered two wraps and two smoothies. One of the wraps come with a side. They never asked me which side I wanted and instead just threw a bag of sun chips in the bag. The veggie hummus wrap was only half filled with ingredients and the other half was the tortilla shell wrapped up. No exaggeration. I reached out to them via their website and nobody contacted me. I sent another message and I received an email from someone telling me that the wrap no longer comes with rice (it actually does and did have some rice in it). They didn't ask any questions, just mentioned that I could come get a wrap of my choice. Except I never want to come back to that location ever again. read more

Good some of the time. Tropical smoothie is always a wait. I tried ordering before arrival and came in to find others ordering after me getting food first so that did not help. The last few times I wen my smoothie has been completely tasteless. And the food was wrong, it happens but this location is the worst around. I love the food and smoothies when it is right, but good luck. I will only stop at different locations. This one is understaffed and cutting corners with products and the quality is suffering due to it. Update tried again. Order wrong took 25 minutes. Smoothie tasteless.
