I've been to a few Tropical Smoothie locations and unfortunately this continues to be my least favorite one. The quality of the food is the same as the others, however the service at this one has been an issue multiple times. I've gotten the wrong sandwich twice. I've tried calling in orders twice, only to be put on hold for over 10 minutes before hanging up because I've almost arrived at the store - I know it can get busy during lunch, but they need to put together a better system for calls during that time. One morning before work I stopped in and wasn't helped for over 15 minutes. This was without a line in the store - they prioritized phone calls over me (and the other individuals who joined me in waiting to place an order in the store.) It looked liked there were only 2, eventually 3 people working, but again, a better systems needs to be in place during the busier hours of the workday. I had to ask someone to finally be helped. I was in there for about 35 minutes (without an actual wait!) because all of the phone calls jumped in front of my order. read more

Good, but be prepared to wait. Order ahead and order early; and allow yourself enough time for the (usually) one counter person to finish taking orders before they can hand you your order that's ready. You'd be hard pressed to see a manager around helping with the surplus of customers in store/call in orders/online orders etc that almost always ONE counter person is left to manage by themselves. And it's consistently this way. Places that I frequent I could pick the manager out no problem. Here, no clue. Seems like tropical smoothies in general are not the best run franchises because there are several others that I've come across that seem to have poor management. Maybe one day that will change across the board. Until then... This is one place where I'd say DoorDash or Uber eats...etc is well worth the money because it saves you a lot of time and unnecessary waiting and aggravation having to sift through waiting and lines and chaos during busy times especially if you are on a break. read more

Very dissatisfying, plus the kids working there (besides the cashier) were snickering at the customers from the back table where they prep the food. I also was dissatisfied about our smoothies due to my mocha madness not even being filled to the top. 35 min wait for a smoothie and a sandwich where the workers don't even need to actually cook the food. That's ridiculous and I'll never be coming back. I read through all the other reviews and tropical smoothie actually responded to them. If I could change my review to a -3 I 100% would. I ordered a chipotle chicken club and a peanut butter cup smoothie with half sugar. The smoothie I received was not only barely cold, but had more sugar than a goddamn Mountain Dew. I've been eating at tropical smoothie for years and I've drank smoothies with half sugar and with regular sugar, and I can 100% say that this has more sugar than the regular smoothie which is ridiculous since I even asked for half. They forgot a sandwich with my order last month, called the next day because they were closed by the time I got home, and woman told me nothing she can do and to email corporate on the contact portion of their site and hung up on me. Emailed corporate no response still after a month. Came here again today, place wreaked of body odor, only 2 other people waiting and I had to wait 33 minutes to get 2 smoothies. They had at least 5 people working there as well so it's not like they were understaffed. In the time I was waiting, I counted at least 19 flys in the restaurant. I was extremely patient, but after a while, I saw people who ordered after me getting their food first opposed to those waiting for 1 hour was very irritating. The kids don't pronounce when they are calling out the names so everyone was standing there trying to figure out what they were saying. This may be because I only come before 10 am usually but I never have a problem here, there are never any lines and my smoothie always comes out within 5 minutes and they always taste great. Honestly I've never had a problem here and the kid who work at this location are always very friendly! Let me first say i do enjoy the food and smoothies from Tropical Smoothie, however this location has provided horrible service for years and today was just the icing on the cake of how horribly managed this location is. The staff here are overall rude and incompetent, some more than others. Half of the time my food order is wrong (usually missing ingredients) and it always takes forever. I only get a 30min break to grab food, I used to order in the store, but that took about 20-30mins on average. I started using their app to order and pickup in store as recommended by an employee. I'd get there and still have to wait for my smoothie (however food was usually ready), so I stopped ordering smoothies and finally food was ready when I arrived I was able to grab my food and go. Yay, finally things were working for me...for a time. Until they made a change. You then had to get staff to grab your food for you (Why? Was someone stealing food? Panera does this with no problems.) Even though I would patiently wait in the designated pickup area, staff would just ignore me and I found myself waiting 10-15mins just to get them to grab my food off the shelf. Staff making the food put it on the shelf, but don't yell out names and the cashier doesn't check either (even if they know you're waiting). So if you don't nag them they will just let you stand there. Even with all this I still come here. With the current pandemic they offer curbside. It's not curbside at all. My order took about 40min to be ready for a single wrap, I had to wait in the store with about 10 other people in close proximity, which is exactly what I didn't want to do. They have taped off the dining area and areas by the windows so it is impossible to safely distance in that amount of space. Workers are also handing orders directly to customers only a couple feet away. Not good. This plus the usual issues, it's not worth the aggravation or jeopardizing my health. With new management maybe I'd come back, but this place is the absolute worst. read more

For a smoothie place their smoothies sure suck! Came here with a friend and got the detox island smoothie and a buffalo chicken wrap. The wrap was pretty good! The smoothie however had no taste. Line was pretty long but moved fast. Cleanliness is definitely an issue that needs to be fixed here. Buyer beware: on Saturday someone brought my brother a smoothie from here. While drinking it he found a piece of metal in the smoothie. We strained it and found another piece of metal. I called them and a young kid came on the phone and said they had no manager and that he would get me a shift manager on the phone. He proceeded to pretend to be the shift manager and told me to come down there. I told him I would come Monday. Well today I come down there and the rude staff of teenagers basically told me that they couldn't help me and there was no manager. Two girls were preparing orders In the back. i don't blame the staff, but the management has to find a way to make this system streamlined. The only reason I put one star is because our smoothies came out good. Went to patchogue location on 4/15/19. Ordered four smoothies with one person ahead of me. Waited 25!!!! Minutes before getting the smoothies. There was three workers in the back so this shouldn't have been the case. Person before me also complained about waiting 20 minutes for two smoothies- actually asked for a refund because he couldn't wait any longer.
