Ovando, Montana --- "Trixi's Antler Saloon" is bar 343 of "666 Bars of 2017" ... "Trixi's Antler Saloon" has been on Montana Route 200 since 1960. Owner "Trixi" McCormick was a Montana cowgirl and legendary rodeo/vaudeville/USO entertainer, who was even in 2 movies. The atmosphere is comfortable, with plenty of "antlers", "Trixi" trivia & other eye-catching bar flair. Bartender Christine was efficient & interactive ... and gave me "More Smiles Than I Came In With!" Love Trixi's; one of our favorite Montana bars. Great memories of coming up here for steak dinners, BBQ, burgers, or just playing pool, hanging out and having a few beers. My brother has a crazy story about coming up here one time w/ a college friend who was drop-dead gorgeous when there happened to be a bachelor party going on. Long story short, they throught the best man had invited her to entertain them. Not to disappoint, she ended up dancing and donig a strip tease on the bar. Good times! Came back this week for the first time in quite awhile, and brought the kids. Still looks about the same. The little cottages in the front are falling into disrepair, and from the real estate sign, looks like the property might be for sale. There's a stage in the corner, but not sure if they still have live music - I hope so. We each got a burger, and they were really good, with and the fries were tasty, too - crispy, and tasted battered. They have some local Montana beer on tap and in bottles -- Moose Drool and some other good Big Sky brews, and a honey amber that was really nice. The only downside - our waitress was probably one of the meanest, rudest servers I've ever encountered. I won't go into detail, but it was over-the-top, and it wasn't just us. A group of four very friendly folks sat at the table next to us, we exchanged some pleasantries; the waitress came over, and was so rude to them that they walked out. Ordinarily, I'd knock off more than 1 star for this, but as my 10-year noticed, there was a sign out front adverising for new bartender/waitress, and "maybe that's why!"

Pork chop sandwich with tots. Is this on my diet? I think not.

Montana at its best. Super cute everyone friendly. Family friendly for our lunch that we had there. We stop by everything we are in town.

We enjoyed our burgers. The fries were piping hot and the burgers were tasty. We would definitely eat here again when passing through.

Quick word of advice: if you're heading east toward Butte, you'll need to drive through the whole town of Drummond to get back on the interstate. Parker's Restaurant sits conveniently just off the highway and boasts what might be the largest burger menu I've ever seen -- over 100 different options. The interior is eclectic, packed with nostalgic touches like vintage glass Coke bottles and quirky figurines. You can order from printed menus or from the massive chalkboard that runs the length of the restaurant, listing entrees from end to end. Even on a busy late Saturday afternoon, we were greeted promptly and seated right away, though open tables were limited. Our drink order was taken and delivered quickly, and the server was ready for our food order whenever we were. The only downside was the wait time -- about 30 minutes from ordering to the table. I had a tough time choosing, but ultimately went with the Ultimate Patty Melt: two ¼-pound patties, grilled onions, grilled peppers, Swiss cheese, and Thousand Island dressing on grilled dark rye. The patties were fresh, thick, and clearly hand-formed in the kitchen. The onions and peppers added great flavor, though I found the Thousand Island a bit lacking. Luckily, their fry sauce was excellent and made a perfect table-side substitute. My buddy ordered the Chili Size, which was massive and also featured two ¼-pound patties. As with any chili dish, the chili itself makes or breaks it -- theirs was solid, loaded with both beans and meat, and you could clearly taste the ground beef in every bite. Overall, Parker's delivers a fun, old-school roadside diner experience with huge portions and plenty of burger variety. Perfect stop if you're cruising through Montana on I-90!
