Love how convenient the restaurant is to our cabin! It takes about 15 - 20 minutes to drive into town for food but this only takes 5! Helps that the food is delicious too. The complimentary bread with their balsamic dipping sauce is soo good. So good that you can drink it! Unfortunately, they do not sell bottles but it's something I'd pay for! Service was great although, Food took about 45 minutes after ordering. Thy had karaoke night so the bar was busy! I'm not a fan of mussels, but the little broth they were swimming in was also drinkable! Not all the shells were open, which was a bummer. I ordered the trout with huckleberry sauce and veggies. The fish was cooked medium and a little undercooked. The zucchini squash were just ok, and the baby Yukon potatoes were delicious. The ribeye was pretty good. It was ordered rare but came out medium rare. Still pretty good and a bit on the salty side even without sauce on top Calamari is no longer in the menu and that was the appetizer I was most looking forward to. read more

We usually hit Finley Point grill once when we are in the area. We learned on this trip that the owner also owns and operates the East Shore Smokehouse when we saw him in both locations and asked him about it. The good - The food is always good here. It's easy to see by the number of cars when we drive by. It's a popular restaurant for a good reason. The Meh - nothing to report. The Bad - Staffing has been short each time we're here. We had to remind the front desk twice that we hadn't seen a server in 20, and the 30 minutes after we were seated. We were reminded that we did the same in 2022 and moved into the bar side to get served. A server said that someone hadn't shown up for their shift, and maybe that's why the owner was there helping out. read more

Horrible experience. We are local and also restaurant owners ourselves, so we have a lot of grace. We rarely complain. Waited over an hour for food. 2 hours from entry to leaving with to-go food. Asked for our food to-go after an hour as we were with exhausted kids. Restaurant manager and owner forgot an item of our food order after we asked & confirmed they double/checked. I ordered a gift card (certificate) on 12/15 with plans to send it in a Christmas card for family. On the 23rd I called because I still hadn't received it. The man answering the phone said he'd look into it and call me back. He never did. I did end up receiving it that day. It was postmarked the 19th. Obviously not customer focused. read more

5 years later or more , FPG is definitely a go to in the Polson-Flathead Lake area. We were lucky enough to have Megan has our bartender / waitperson and she was on point both times that we have been here just this past week. The steaks , pasta , fish were excellent and it's a compliment that Finley Point Grill has a sister restaurant about a mile away... East Shore Smoke House which is awesome . I wish I had left this restaurant after soup and appetizers. Not because the main entrees were that bad, but they just weren't great... and I loved everything else about this place so much I wanted to give it a 5 star review... the location was great, there was ample parking, the ambiance was charming (omg bear paintings... too cute for words!), and the service was wonderful (it got a little slow once the restaurant got busy but in this world of post-great resignation where restaurants are always understaffed, I can't fault them on that... our waitress was working super hard!) And the first half of our dinner was spot on. It started with bread for the table with a balsamic dipping sauce which was out of this world. My entree came with a soup and if I could have gotten away with licking the bowl I would have.... It was that good. I ordered the Ahi Tuna Samurai for my 9-year-old and 4-year-old to share. Please excuse me as I'm going to be obnoxious for a moment. But I am incredibly snobby when it comes to seafood. I've spent my entire life living in or near Honolulu, Boston, and New York City and usually (silently... except for yelp) look down my nose at any non-coastal state trying to pull off a dish like this. But this is why people (oh hai, I'm people) shouldn't be snobby.... The dish was incredible... so much so that my daughter begged me to order a second plate of it. In retrospect I should have said okay, but at the time I told her no because her dinner as about to come. So why the 3-stars if I just wrote a love letter to the restaurant up above? Because most of the entrees were not that good. In what is clearly a parenting fail on my part, my 9-year-old eats some type of pasta or noodles at least once a day. It was therefore no surprise that she ordered the pasta Alfredo. But for the first time in her life, she found she didn't like it. I ordered the 14 oz cowboy ribeye (a ribeye with a tarragon cream sauce). That cream sauce... chef's kiss I tell you! And the steak was probably fine if you like your meat between medium well and well done. Unfortunately, I don't tend to like my steak cooked longer than medium rare so it was pretty dry/tough and I barely ate it once the tarragon cream sauce (that I was slathering over each bite of steak to make it less dry) ran out. I liked this restaurant so much that even if my daughter and I were not thrilled by our entrees, I was going to overlook it if others in my party (there were 7 of us that went) were happy. But after lukewarm responses from 2 others in the group, I figured it wasn't just a fluke. However, usually if I give a 3-star review it means that I will never seek out the restaurant on my own ever again (but would return to it if a friend/family member wanted to eat there). In this case however, since the first half of our meal was so fantastic, I do plan on coming back to Finley Point Grill the next time I'm back in Polson and hope for an ending as great as the beginning! read more

Unfortunately this is now under new ownership and the menu and quality of food has taken a hit with it. The beloved chicken chop (chicken piccata) is no longer available, and the quality of food across the board has suffered; especially the meat. The two times this year the chicken has been grisly and the cut of steak was clearly not the same high quality as before. Our service was great however. Still a good location and atmosphere for a post lake day meal or drive by diner, just need to bring some of the old quality and menu items back. read more

We had our wedding catered by them and it was the worst food I've ever had. None of the food we had ordered was correct, we didn't have any salad dressing, the rice wasn't cooked at all. We ordered chicken picatta and we're given fried chicken with a some kind of artichoke tossed on top. The chicken was hard and dry. We had gone to the restaurant a few days after the wedding to see if the food was better and it's was exceptional. I'm not sure if there was a different chef or if the wedding fell through the cracks but I expected my wedding catering to be much better. For paying an arm and a leg, I expected the food to be much better. We've been customers for over 20 years and this was extremely disappointing to say the least. read more

This place has never disappointed - been here a few times and the food and service are always on point. Recently we had some friends visiting and made reservations so they can experience this culinary adventure. The place is packed in the summer, so reservations are a must. After waiting couple minutes at the bar (enough to order drinks) we were seated and orders were taken promptly after. All of our friends were impressed with the quality and pure deliciousness. The restaurants offers daily specials and Wednesday evening they have live music by local artists - great performances and lots of dancing. So if you are exploring the area, highly recommend you stop by for dinner. read more

The best food in 20 miles! I'm so angry at myself for waiting so long to try this place. The menu is simple but elegant, and for the most part perfectly executed. Will report back if further visits prove inconsistent, but so far, we're impressed! The street tacos were amazing. The baked Brie was good, if not a little lacking on quantity. The steaks were good; not great, but good. The oxtail special was good, but needed a second piece of meat to feel like the value was there. The bartender, Milo, was super friendly and nice. His mixology skills need a little work, but he was on top of most everything else. The ambiance could use some new life breathed into it, but for the most part it's comfortable and open and clean. We stayed in Polson over New Years, our last meal was here. It was literally the best pork chop I've ever had in my 46 years of living. Wifey got the Cioppino and said it's comparable if not better to what she's eaten in fancy ass restaurants in fancy ass cities. My 17 year old son got the Filet Mignon Alfredo... He said it was really good. I had a bite. It had more flavor than other adult mac and cheese I've eaten, but since I'm not 6 I prefer adult foods, but it was good. My 12 year old daughter got the Prime Rib.... She refused to share so I assume it was good. She ate the whole damn thing. Well, she didn't eat the potatoes because she was too full. In case you're wondering the mashed potatoes are good. Like... momma made good. Anyway, eat here. You'll be super happy you did. Easily one of the best restaurants I've eaten at. read more

The venue is beautiful. however, the owner is the most unprofessional, filthy mouth, aggressive individual I've ever met in such a scenario. She interrupted my daughter's wedding in the middle of the dance floor, after shoving several groomsmen, including my son. She and her husband unplugged all of the equipment that the DJ was using to entertain everyone. To say that I am disappointed is an understatement. I called the police because she put hands on several of the young men. If this were in reverse, a male owner, putting hands on several young women, I'm pretty sure he'd be thrown in jail. She wasn't. she actually called and asked for us to take all of our reviews down. We explained that that's not how Google reviews work. So I am starting the rest of my campaign... I have a PR background and I'm friends with professionals who will continue to spread the word about how no one should have their wedding at this venue. imagine... A year and a half of planning, all the details were quite perfect. I have to say... And I see how they could be with so many moving parts... Everyone is jamming on the dance floor hard-core and she is shoving people and unplugging equipment that does not belong to her. Since reviews have to be G rated, I cannot tell you what she said to the crowd and to individuals over and over, but think of the worst language you could use and she at the crowds and . Am I mad? Our server recommended a particular dessert, which was very unique, it turned out to be absolutely amazing. Our server was extremely watchful over what we needed but stayed in the background and provided useful and appropriate suggestions to improve our dining experience. Just leaving this place after going for the first time! The salmon was amazing, cooked perfectly, and had amazing potatoes and carrots with it. My boyfriend got the chicken chop which he also really enjoyed! Our server Robyn (Robin?) was the sweetest and had a perfect mix of attentive but not overbearing. While the character of this place isn't on par with the East Shore smoke house down the road, I'd say that the food is. The inside is clean, spacious and very basic. I sat in the bar and the a/c was set to freezer settings....bring a sweater. They had a decent selection of localish beers on tap and a better than average wine selection. Since it's a steak house, I had the steak Diane. Ordered it medium rare and they did it perfect. The steak was peppery and tender. Served with a mushroom gravy and creamy mashed potatoes. Almost forgot to mention the soup: Probably the best part of the meal! It was a lightly creamy mushroom/beef/veggie concoction and it was savory, rich and bursting with umami goodness. read more

This place was so good! Took a little weekend trip to Polson from Missoula and the Parmesan crusted chicken was absolutely incredible! My friend had the cowboy ribeye and they were both absolutely delicious! The crab cakes were sinful and I could probably eat 15 orders of them. The decor was nice, waitstaff was friendly, not overcrowded but the food was incredible. Absolutely zero complaints. I would make the 1.5 hr trip once a month just to come here for dinner. I went back and forth on visiting while in the area. I don't regret my decision. I had the Alfredo with filet, medium rare (look at that picture). It was delicious! If you want steak AND pasta, this is the way to go. It came with a great fresh salad. The bar area can get busy as others mention but the wait was minimal even on a busy night. read more

Visited here during the COVID-19 restrictions (every employee was appropriately masked), so the place wasn't overly packed or busy despite it being a Friday night at 6:00. Our reservation was fouled up but thankfully the hostess was able to accommodate our party of six. Kudos to her! The drinks were phenomenal: Good Huck Margaritas and Irish Mules served in a timely manner by a great server. The meal, however, left much to be desired: Our party ordered several prime rib dinners; one of them was to be medium rare but was more like well done. The others were to be medium but were also more well done. And the baked potatoes? They were warm at best - even the butter wouldn't melt on them - and also hard as rocks. The mashed potatoes were marginally better: At least they were cooked but they were also lukewarm. One of our party ordered a steak that was to be cooked medium and it was so well done it could have been used to re-sole a shoe. Even the two or three pieces of what might have been asparagus were ice cold. We didn't complain, however, because it was an anniversary celebration and we didn't want to put an even darker cloud over the happy occasion. This was an outstanding evening of food. To be honest I felt like I was walking into a diner. The food and prices are considerably higher in price and quality than the humble surroundings would indicate. I chose the Salmon with apple and cranberry salsa and balsamic glaze. It is the best salmon I have ever eaten. It was incredibly good. The salmon was perfectly cooked. It had a nice char and was flakey inside. The sweet potato fries were really tasty. The bread brought to the table was truly flavorful especially with the balsamic dip. All in all- a quality meal. As for the staff. They were very friendly. The speed of the food was extremely quick. There was less than seven minutes down time between salad and entree. Loved it. High prices but the quality was equal to the expense. read more

Really great meal prepared by people who obviously care. Probably the best clam chowder I've had in Montana and just good by any standard. (I lived in MA for 14+ years so I'm a chowder snob). We had two steaks, a chicken Ceaser, and the cioppino - so very different meals/styles. All came out as ordered and delicious. Wow we got lucky with this one. We were staying at a friend's cabin on the lake and we were on our back from glacier national Park when we decided to stop for a place to eat. My wife wanted a steak so she yelled steakhouses nearby. She found three options. One seemed very over priced and required fancy attire, but the food did look good. The second was noticeably lower quality from the pictures but was casual. We headed towards that one which I believe was in Polson but then decided it wasn't what we wanted. Then as we got closer we searched again and this place popped up so we decided to give it a try. Boy am I glad we did. We arrived at 5 and we're surprised it was so so empty. Only 2 other cars in the parking lot. Then as we were walking in two more cars pulled in which I took as a good sign. We sat down and looked over the menu and couldn't believe how many things looked good. We decided on the ahi tuna and prime rib slider appitizer and got the tenderloin steak for dinner. Everything was great. Well played dishes on unique plates that were appropriately sized for the food. Excellent service and a perfectly good medium steak made this a great experience. For dessert we got the lemon tart which was perfectly balanced with the sweetness of the cream and tartness of the lemon. Overall a great meal. The restaurant also had an open kitchen and the chefs were pumping out the food. Remember when I said it looked a little empty? By the time we got our appitizers (which wasn't long at all since they were so efficient) the place was packed! Not a seat left. Two appitizers, a steak and dessert plus two sodas and our bill was only $61 which we thought was very reasonable, we were expecting much more. I absolutely recommend this place to anyone visiting the area or even glacier park itself. Casual dining atmosphere combined with great food and service made this an absolute hit.
