It was real good and tangy. Started with the fried green beans. The green beans had a nice fry and real good aioli. Had their fish tacos (the most popular entree). The fish tacos were delicious as well. The fry, acid in the slaw, fresh pico all went great together. Good food and service.

The complimentary bread with their balsamic dipping sauce is soo good. So good that you can drink it! Unfortunately, they do not sell bottles but it's something I'd pay for! Service was great although, Food took about 45 minutes after ordering. Thy had karaoke night so the bar was busy! I'm not a fan of mussels, but the little broth they were swimming in was also drinkable! Not all the shells were open, which was a bummer. I ordered the trout with huckleberry sauce and veggies. The fish was cooked medium and a little undercooked. The zucchini squash were just ok, and the baby Yukon potatoes were delicious. The ribeye was pretty good. It was ordered rare but came out medium rare. Still pretty good and a bit on the salty side even without sauce on top Calamari is no longer in the menu and that was the appetizer I was most looking forward to.

I came up from Missoula to fish on the lake and we stopped here for dinner afterwards. I can't say…read moreenough how well rounded and exceptional my experience was. We were immediately sat by the kind hostess who got myself and my fiancé a table with the best view on the patio. The food was so delicious, hands down the best food in the area, if not Western Montana. We had the bread basket, coconut shrimp for starters and were blown away. Then our main courses came out. I had the fettuccine and my fiancé had the salmon beurre blanc, not surprisingly, these were insanely delicious as well. The wine and cocktails were the cherry on top. The best thing about this place? It's fairly priced. You can eat like a King and it won't break the bank. Just be sure to tip your waiter and send compliments to the chef. We will absolutely be back and we honestly can't wait!

I've become a regular at The Shoe, and it continues to impress me every time I visit. My go-to…read moreorder is the grilled salmon, and the risotto that accompanies it deserves special recognition. It's flavorful and complements the fish perfectly. It's one of those side dishes that could easily stand on its own. Another favorite is the coconut shrimp. Sometimes I order it as an appetizer, and other times I make it my entire meal because it's that good. Crispy, flavorful, and consistently well prepared the marmalade dipping sauce makes it so delightful. I appreciate that The Shoe embraces its Montana roots with farm-to-table bison burgers and steaks. It's a great way for locals and visitors alike to experience something uniquely Montana while enjoying a quality meal. Oh, and western fanatics definitely check out the 'Lonesome Dove' decor! It's so fun and done with taste, I love the horseshoe chandeliers too! What really stands out, though, is the service. The servers are always friendly, attentive, and genuinely seem to care about creating a great experience. The restaurant is busy nearly every time I'm there, which says a lot in itself, yet the staff handles the crowds with professionalism and efficiency. I noticed some older reviews mentioning wait times, but those seem outdated. The most recent of those was many months ago, and from what I've experienced, it looks like they've built a strong team that consistently delivers both excellent food and excellent service. If you're in Polson and looking for a restaurant with great food, friendly staff, and a true Montana feel with an epic view of Flathead Lake, The Shoe is absolutely worth a visit.
