Stopped in for breakfast looking for a local place to eat. The diner is cute and staffed with friendly people. The inside is a bit tight and outdoor seating is available but due to wildfire smoke we couldn't sit outside. We had a young man named McCoy who was working with mom to earn some money and honestly this made the whole visit worth it. The food was on par for a diner. The coffee was good and the scrambled eggs my husband got were perfectly done. My burger was tasty and they have good ranch dressing IYKYK we will visit again when we are back in town! read more

There is a shared parking lot with a pizza place. There is a small outside patio and this location faces the lake so you can sit by a window and look at the lake. There is a sign that advertises a gluten free menu. They gluten free buns and bread and a separate fryer. I stopped by closer to closing time so it wasn't super busy and I was able to get a table right away. The service is quick and efficient. The food was good - I appreciated the club sandwich it had gluten free bread and if anything I would have liked another slice of bacon. The tots were so good, definitely worth a try. read more

Has that roadside diner feel and look which drew me in. Service was okay but they were busy. Bud was attentive but "Betty" (her name tag not sure if she was "the Betty" didn't smile much.) They have these gold stars on select menu items which are their "specialty" dishes. So I ordered the Breakfast Skillet with a side of gravy for the hash browns. To be honest, it needed some spicing up and some hot sauce did the trick but it wasn't the best I've had but the price was fair. read more

Spot on service, spot on food. To the waitress who served my family on Wednesday, 8/13, you're a gem. Keep up the great work (in all that you do). I didn't catch her name but boy does she deserve a gold star. My family traveled from CA to WA to MT in a matter of days and she made our visit such a great experience. The food was great and the service definitely made everything better. We would recommend this place to everyone. read more

What a great spot right on Flathead Lake in Polson. Right on Highway 93. We stopped in for breakfast and it appears to be THE place in town for breakfast. During our visit to beautiful Montana, we stopped by Betty's, and I'm so glad we did! As soon as you walk in, it's clear why it's called Betty's--with an abundance of Mrs. Boop photos on the walls, it really takes you back to the good old days. The ambiance is wonderful, reminiscent of a classic diner. Unfortunately, the outdoor seating area was closed when we visited, which is something to keep in mind since the indoor space is quite small. The food was delicious--I had the eggs benedict, and they were absolutely perfect. The portion was definitely worth every penny! read more

Had ham and cheese omelet with hash browns. Cheese on omelet was slice american cheese. Not a fan. No homemade potatoes.

The decor is amazing. Food delicious and service so friendly. Scenery of Lake Flathead is breathtaking.

Thankful for gluten free options and a restaurant that is knowledgeable in providing safe gluten free meals without cross contamination. Great service and great portion sizes. Overall food was very good. Not the best German sausage seasoning, all other food choices was great. Will definitely be back. read more

Betty's Diner is a greasy spoon in Polson with really cute decor. There's a lot of breakfast items to choose from and so the ham and cheese omelette it was with "smashed" potatoes and toast. The potatoes were mashed and grilled so they were soft on the top and crispy on the bottom. The omelette had processed cheddar cheese which was a bit inedible but I ate it anyway and the toast was overly buttered for my taste also. Not the best experience by way of service either. Would I go again if I'm in town? Maybe? And try something different more than likely, yes. read more

A restaurant that lives off of people that will only walk through the doors once! BE WARNED: IF YOU NEED MORE THAN GOOD SERVICE AND GOOD APPLE PIE, KEEP DRIVING... This dump tricks you right off the bat by looking charming, kitsch, inviting, and maybe even a little historic on both the inside and outside. But I don't know about you: food is cheap, and restaurants have a DUTY to feed you generously and creatively. Betty's is nothing less than slapping lipstick on a pig-of-a-restaurant: it's a terrible trap for unknowing tourists hungry after a long ride to Flathead Lake. KEEP DRIVING!!! Don't fall into this trap! Let's start off with the good: very nice and attentive staff. No wait to get seated. The apple pie we bought before we left to bring to a family gathering later that same day got rave reviews. And now the bad: the food was awful, the portion sizes were small, making the price for both the time wasted and money spent humiliating! It's yet another painful example of awful management and shameful ownership that come together to produce a terrible tourist trap and end-feeling that (1) you got ripped off, (2) you just wasted precious vacation/family time at Flathead Lake, (3) and "damn that waiter was so nice, but I hate to condone this experience with a tip... whatever... ok... I'll do it". Want specifics? No problem. Keep reading: The burger could not have been more of an insult!!! At the suggestion of the waitress, I ordered the mushroom and Swiss cheese burger that was exquisitely detailed on the menu. I should have taken a picture of the crap served!!! A small, 3 1/2 inch bun was served with a kiss of mayo on one side, open faced with the smallest 2oz thin over cooked joke-of-a-patty on the other side of the bun. I promise you patty had the equivalent of one Velvita-slice of Swiss cheese melted with maybe a tablespoon of chopped mushrooms on top. Make no mistake: any burger on McDonald's menu was bigger than this insult. Even worse: THAT WAS IT!!! No lettuce, no tomato, no onion. The French fries were disgusting, and a small portion. Soggy, clearly pre-frozen, anemic "white" colored: no golden-brown or crispy experience. Ketchup was needed to drown out the experience entirely. The entree salad was small and uninviting. The kids meal chicken tenders were what you'd expect from a bag from Costco. Even the diet soda was off-balanced between syrup and soda water! Gross, gross, gross!!! read more

I was actually waiting in line at the drive they for Richwine's next door, but the 10 minute wait in our car with no movement made me switch gears and done at Betty's. Parking was available and you can dine in! I was craving a burger and ordered the Betty. Just a delicious classic cheeseburger! Exactly what I needed. I ordered cheese fries and it's not the typical cheddar cheese. At Betty's, they use American. I didn't really care for it, but my boyfriend loved it. I also ordered the huckleberry mimosa (secret menu) and it was a bit too sweet for me. I should've stuck with the huckleberry beer. read more

Great food...no strike that, fantastic food! The inside was decorated in 1950's nostalgia and the staff was very friendly. The only reason it's not getting five stars is despite what appears to be ample help, the service is a tad bit slow. Don't get me wrong, the staff is super friendly but our prepared food sat under warming lights for nearly five minutes and our coffee cups were empty way too long before anyone came back to refill them. This is a 'looking back' review from our visit in June. The Good. Many staff were working as quickly as they could to keep up with a busy restaurant. The Meh. Our service, and the disinterest from some of the staff who really could have taken a second to ask what we needed... because we did need a couple of things. We were served fairly timely, but we watched some of the staff stand around and chat. We were trying to minimize our time inside, particularly in tight quarters. It was cold enough that only the toughest of customers was outside. The food was ok, but not worth packing inside. The Bad. Montana was well behind most of the country in covid and it showed in how tightly we were packed inside and how the staff hadn't been directed to take steps to mitigate cross contamination between tables. That, paired with just a 'less than clean' feel, was the reason we decided to not go back during this trip. That said, we might return on another trip through town. read more

Cool retro vibe with great breakfasts. Female wait staff all wore shirts with the name tag "Betty." Who's the real Betty? This is the place where everyone knows your name, and the servers know what you plan to order before you even sat down. We felt like we were crashing a design set on "Cheers," while having fun experiencing the local atmosphere. We ordered the basics: bacon and eggs and French Toast. I have dined in many of the restaurants in all of Lake County. I have yet to find the customer service that matches that of the waitress "Betty", that served me today. The place was packed, she greeted every person with a smile and took care of them as well as cleaned off her tables. Top notch customer service. We were starving, saw Betty's Diner and very quickly pulled in. Place was packed! That's always a good sign! Got right to a table, and straight to ordering. My Nathan's dog was delish! Big deal, it's a hot dog you say! Oh it was so yummy! Pair it with tater tots and my 10 year old tummy is thrilled! Except, that I am now 62! Hubby's french dip made him very happy! cute little pink painted diner with lake view. food was typical diner food, nice little pit stop on our trip. we needed a hearty breakfast and thats what we got. we seated ourselves right when we walked in, so no wait time which was nice for our hungry bellies at 11am. I am sure on a nice day its pretty busy but it was rainy and just before lunch so I feel like we hit Bettys at the right time. there is deck seating so if you are in the area and its warm and not rainy you could take advantage of that. if in the area again I would definitely stop at Bettys Diner. read more
