When we…read moreinitially spoke, what impressed me was the amount of time he spent talking with me on the phone about my dog Bowie and the type of shoot I was asking for to make sure it was a match. Once I decided to book a shoot, Jay was timely with his communication and I found him to be very flexible. The day we met to take the photographs, he was clear that his job was to make sure Bowie was relaxed and having fun. He let Bowie sniff around the studio and play until he settled down, which took 45 minutes. During the shoot, he was incredibly engaged with my dog working to have fun with him while getting the exact shot we were looking for. He was meticulous with the lighting and Bowie's placement-but amazingly, I could tell Bowie was enjoying every minute. It's clear he has a talent communicating with dogs! And the gourmet treats he brought to keep Bowie's attention didn't hurt! Jay met with me twice while he worked on the photograph to make sure I was included in the editing process and I really appreciated his point of view and rabid attention to detail. Jay always called when he said he would and met every deadline he gave me. When the photograph was ready we met at the framing studio. I'm not to shy to admit, the finished photograph was more than I could ever hope for and I burst into tears! While I gathered myself he and the framer worked together for an hour helping me pick out just the right frame and matte. That was above and beyond. What it said to me is what I knew through the entire process. Jay's art is his heart and he wants to get it right. You can trust that Jay will produce a piece of fine art for you as special as your dog. The piece he produced for me will be displayed for a lifetime. The experience felt special and elevated the entire way through. You will be working with a true professional and master of his craft!

Not only did he get awesome pictures of Gypsy which I treasure every day, but he also was kind and supportive through my tears. In one photo shoot he captured so many elements of her personality and character. I have had many people remark to me how the photos he took really show her character and spirit. Without hesitation I recommend Jay.

So glad that we found Krista and Ruff Adventures! After meeting Krista at our shared vet we decided…read moreto have her take our 14 year old, Ella, out for an "Honor" photo session. My husband and I have 4 dogs (that we spoil like they are our children) and we instantly felt comfortable sending our elderly dog (along with some props) with Krista for the morning. A few hours later Krista returned our extremely happy Ella after visiting downtown Austin, the green belt and wildflower fields. A few hours later, Krista gave us a sneak peak of some of the unedited photos. As soon as we saw how talented she is we asked her to book us to take more pics of our other dogs. Today Krista dropped off Ella's hardback book, and wow!!!! She truly captured her young-at-heart spirit. I'm not sure how she got so much energy and variety of facial expression in one morning from our girl, but I could not be happier with the quality of the pictures and the book! For our second session we asked Krista to take pictures of our two American Bulldogs at our house. Taking pictures of these two children is no simple task... One is a 17 month old female, 95lbs and in heat....and the other is 22 month old male and 85lbs... We got to watch Krista in action with our pups and she truly is some kind of dog-whisperer! We can't wait to see the results! Extremely professional, high quality pictures, high quality ( and not flimsy) photo book, well worth the money. Thrilled that we found Krista and we HIGHLY recommend her to fellow dog lovers!!!

My dog is friendly senior dog and I consider him a bolter (not so good off leash)but she was able to take him out and get him to obey her commands which resulted in AMAZING photos!!! They were gone for the entire morning and when he came back he was a happy camper. It's like taking your dog to doggy daycare and getting great pictures in return that'll last a life time. If you are wanting to have great memories captured of your dog then look no further. Krista is THE ONE! I would trust her with my dog in a heartbeat and my dog is like my child. Thank you for the awesome photos!!

I had been looking all over for someone to photograph my husband with our two pups for Christmas…read morephotos and stumbled upon Paws and Prints and am SO glad I did! Every other photographer I had contacted was either way out of my price range or did not really take photos with pets. Michele of Paws and Prints was extremely reasonably price and had some amazing photos of pets on her blog. The photo session was wild...due to my wild pups, but Michele was so patient and wonderful with them (and us!!). When we received our photos I was ecstatic. Despite them not sitting still, she somehow captured the most amazing photos of them (and us with them!!). She truly captured our personalities perfectly. I treasure them and will always contact Michele whenever we need more photos!

Michelle with Paws and Prints clearly stood out from the rest. Aside from her skills, photo expertise and qualifications, she has a gentle demeanor that is polite, respectful and kindhearted and we immediately felt at ease while corresponding with her by phone and email. We agreed on the shoot-date. She showed up on time, with a smile and very excited to meet our critters! Our grumpy dogs took an instant liking to her and she was very soothing towards their old age and crankiness! She offered great ideas for poses and positions, and she was also very receptive towards ideas that we suggested. She definitely has the right flair, patience and know-how when it comes to dealing with people and their pampered pets! She has a natural love for animals, and that really makes a difference on the outcome of a pet photo-shoot. She was unquestionably the ideal person for the job!! A few days after the shoot, she delivered the photographs at the exact date as promised. We were absolutely stunned at the results! The photos she took of our dogs captured exactly what we were hoping for! Absolutely perfect and we could not be happier!! Her proficiency, talent and skills are amazing....oh, and her rates are great....unbeatable!!!!! If you are looking for a Pet Photographer, look no further. Michelle at Paws and Prints is the best that this planet has to offer.

Not only is Nicole incredibly skilled with her camera and use of natural and ambient lighting (even on a sort of gray, finicky day like ours was), but she's really gifted with working with cats (and I'm sure dogs, too). We did some of the portraits inside at home, and some outside in the garden near our house. Our cat, Cleo is seldom impressed by conventional toys or noisemakers but Nicole seemed to know exactly how to get him to look interested and cooperate - plus her magical cat toys must've had kitty crack on them -- Cleo loved them way better than anything we've ever gotten him. Also, it's worth saying that Nicole's method was very relaxed and flexible. She never forced Cleo into doing this or that - she let Cleo sort of lead the way, resulting in zero tension despite the unusual circumstances (from Cleo's perspective). Cleo is notoriously un-photogenic, given that he has black fur and always seems to hate it when I point my phone or camera at him. This is one of the reasons I felt it worth it to hire a pro. Cleo is almost 14 years old as I write this review - he's still really active and fun, but he's not getting any younger. I'm so glad I finally bit the bullet and hired Nicole for Cleo's pet portrait. It was worth every cent and she was such a pleasure to work with. I really like her personality and style, and especially the beautiful photos I ended up with. I am ever grateful for her service.

It's that good ... I recently hired Nicole to shoot portraits of my wife and pets (two dogs, Kaya and Shonee) and have to say that I am MORE than impressed with the results. Just last night I was reviewing the digital images when one of the photos really touched me. No exaggeration, my eyes were welling up with tears! There is something so special about her perspective, something so sublime about her style, that there aren't enough adjectives available to properly describe it. Beautiful. Powerful. Captivating. Expressive. Smooth. Engaging. Emotional. Exciting. Playful. Contemplative. Serene. Intriguing. Perceptive. Like the ingredients of a gourmet dish, all of these apply in different proportions, depending on the subject and the scene. I have never been a big fan of framing portraits and mounting them on the wall in my home, but this time, I'm already thinking about which images to get printed and how to frame them. Nicole's photography is art ...
