I can't even express how much I love Erica Nix and all that she does! We saw her in action at a friend's wedding in Austin, and reached out to see if she would be willing to travel to Houston to shoot ours. She made the trip, and I'm so so so happy that we hired her! Erica goes above and beyond to make sure that her clients get the shots that they want. We gave her a fairly lengthy list of family shots (hooray for broken families!), and she ran through it very quickly and efficiently. What I love most about her work is her ability to capture the best candid moments! Erica is on the dance floor, having just as much fun as the guests. This is terribly belated, but my wife and I were lucky enough to have Erica shoot our wedding at Green Pastures and an engagement session a couple of years back. We'd interviewed several photographers and had basically decided on one... until we met Erica. It was love at first sight! She has such an amazingly friendly, energetic personality, yet manages to be laid back at the same time. Every photo she took was not only beautiful, but also completely natural, unique, and totally US! I don't know how else to explain it - she just captured our relationship. Everyone who met Erica at the wedding loved her. We've gotten so many compliments, not just on the quality of the photos, but on Erica wonderful personality as well. At our wedding, she managed to be both invisible and everywhere at the same time. Also, she had the great idea of a fun photo booth for the wedding. Everyone loved it! WOW! Erica is INCREDIBLE--we certainly think so, and many of our wedding guests approached us to comment on our dynamic, dedicated, and delightful photographer! Our wedding was exactly what we wanted but some odds were stacked against us--an impending storm, fading light for outdoor group photos, and a small, somewhat crowded venue. Erica was unfazed by all of this--she hustled us into the first charming group shot my family's had taken, well, probably ever, used the venue space (a preschool) to craft fun and unexpected photos, and braved wacky dancing to capture some memorable moments. Our engagement session with Erica was absolutely amazing. My partner and I had a blast, and Erica helped us feel beautiful and comfortable! She had great suggestions for where to shoot photos, and some of my favorite images are from locations she shared with us. She was fully on board with our desire to include our dogs in many of the photos, and I am SO thrilled we have these images-we will really cherish them in addition to the photos of my partner and I. Erica Nix is an incredible wedding photographer and I would highly recommend her to anyone and everybody! Erica photographed our wedding about 1 year ago. Our wedding took place on a ranch outside of Austin. The location was gorgeous, but it was raining and FREEZING! During our group shots, we were all pretty stressed, cold and damp, but somehow Erica made us all look like glamourous queens having the time of our lives. Not only does Erica have decades of experience and incredible skills as a photographer, but she is also incredible at giving direction (when needed), as well as encouragement and humor.
