And boy did we make a great decision! We couldn't have been happier working with her and how beautiful our wedding photographs turned out. As a queer couple, it was very important for me and my wife to feel comfortable with the photographer we worked with. Julie flew out to California and from the minute she arrived she was all smiles. Julie brings a genuine joy to her work as well as a calm confidence that let us know we were in good hands. We were able to truly be in the moment in front of the camera and Julie was able to capture our joy and love so beautifully. She was also able to capture whole wedding itself and navigate our families (no small task). Everyone felt at ease in front of the camera. Aesthetically our pictures were even better than we could have hoped for. Julie brings a real artistry to her work and her level of professionalism is phenomenal. She got back to me immediately and sent me her 'wedding package' services. Sadly, I realized I could not afford her, so I replied back with that message. She kindly got back to me asking what my budget was and the date of my wedding. She was happy to work with me. Surely, having a wedding on a Friday instead of a Saturday may have helped. None the less, Julie agreed to photograph my wedding for set hours. I received timely emails regarding payments, questionnaires regarding the wedding, and timelines. I loved her organization. She showed up on the date of the wedding right on time and got to work quickly. She was good at directing people, but also patient with more difficult family/people. She made everyone feel at ease. One week after the wedding, I received the most beautiful preview slideshow! https://juliewilhitephotography.smartslides.com/tammy-jacks-wedding It's amazing she was able to produce this so quickly, especially since Thanksgiving fell between my wedding and when she sent it! My husband and I love watching the video and reliving the evening, and it brought my family to tears. I haven't even received my photos yet, but I cannot rave enough about Julie! I have full confidence this was the best investment I made and I cannot wait to get the rest of my images! Thank you Julie!!!

Katie and I were both elite yelpers at one time... in fact, we met at an elite yelp event and we were immediately fast friends. Fast forward to last year and her wedding... during the pre-wedding photo session, the photographer and I hit it off (not like that, perv... I was there with my girlfriend and the photographer is happily married). She was just really awesome... confident and decisive but playful and unobtrusive... she made the photographs fun. And I don't usually like wedding photographers because they usually remind me of former Russian military or crazy hoarder cat-lady... expressing their pent-up need to control others though their 2 hours of power... But I digress... Kristi is amazing, she actually made the wedding MORE fun and the times we were out in the heat (yes, my friend opted for a summer wedding in Austin) enjoyable. In the end, Katie ended-up with amazing photographs (turns out people look better and take better photos when they are happy and having fun) and I ended-up with another friend. I've been best man in two weddings, a groomsman in at least 15, and an user in probably 10 over the years... including Katie's wedding last year. It's no contest, Kristi is the best wedding photographer I've ever seen. So if you're interviewing photographers, put Kristi in the mix. And if you need references, I'll gladly put you in touch with Katie.

I took a 10 day trip to Europe 10 years ago and I still have yet to put those prints in an album, much less look at them again. No offense to my inner amateur photographer, but there is a reason why I don't care about old photos. It's because I'm terrible at taking photos... In stark contrast to myself, there is the brilliance that is Kristi Wright. We hired Kristi to photograph our Austin wedding at the Driskill. She has a way to magically capture moments and feelings, which is why we have gone back to these photos time and time again to relive our wedding. I can feel my wife's hand when I slid the ring on her slender finger. I can taste my first bite into that wedding cupcake. My heart still strikes a stronger beat when I see our first dance over and over again. It is my laptop's wallpaper after all. Kristi's capturing of our wedding has given me a true appreciation for what real, honest to goodness, quality photographs can do for life. Every penny I spent to hire Kristi was worth it. That said, she wasn't expensive at all! As far as comparable options in the Austin area, Kristi definitely keeps a competitive rate. Overall the entire photography portion of our wedding went flawlessly. Kristi keeps things casual, she is down to earth and easy to talk to, but also professional, she knows what shes doing and how to give instruction set up the best shots. During the wedding / reception Kristi called very little attention to herself and yet was still able to capture all the fun and love we were sharing. The after-wedding shots exceeded our expectations as well. She has a great eye and set up some really creative and insightful shots. We have a treasure trove of photos that we will value for our entire lives. As a stranger to you, the reader, I don't expect my opinion to be the only that you are going to read, but go ahead and take a look around. There are nothing but 5 star reviews for Kristi from anyone who has worked with her. Do yourself a favor: wedding planning is hard work, but choosing a photographer doesn't have to be.

Her pricing was also completely fair and less than a lot of the big companies I looked at. Usually, I cannot stand pictures of myself. With Lisa, I have beautiful pictures that I love. My bridal portraits were AMAZING. Did I mention, I've never liked pictures of myself, EVER, until Lisa? The wedding photos came out gorgeous, my entire family was so happy. She captured such candid pictures of family and friends and she is wonderful at getting people together quickly and in flattering positions. In the moments right after the ceremony, you have literally 30 minutes to get pictures of the wedding party. We had an enormous wedding party, and Lisa was fast and friendly getting everyone to organize and pose. It's not easy, but she was a rockstar. More than anything, know that you're not getting a junior photographer at a big company. You're getting Lisa, and she's such a talent. Post-wedding, Lisa sent me all of my pictures on discs, copyright-released. She even touched up a lot of them, which she wasn't contracted to do. She's just that cool. (Sidenote: I'm a designer by trade, and she did great work on touch-ups - nothing was done incorrectly.) The discs were sent to me very quickly - they were waiting for me when I got back from the honeymoon. My family had such a wonderful experience, we will use Lisa again for future photography needs.

The moment we…read moremet Tiffany we knew what an incredible photographer she was, but we couldn't have imagined how special she would make our big day. Tiffany took our engagement photos, bridal portraits, and the day of. For our engagement photos, she made us feel comfortable, and my wife and I were able to relax and enjoy ourselves as we got photos all over Austin! Not only does she know great locations, she helps you feel comfortable on camera. Every photo we got was next level, and that wouldn't have been possible without her guidance. Our bridal portraits were tricky because both my wife and I wore dresses, and although we shot our portraits at the same time and in the same location, we didn't want to see eachother dresses until our wedding day. Tiffany helped to make this process flawless, and help us maneuver around each other, all while making each of us look absolutely stunning in every shot she got. Nothing can compare though to her attention to detail and incredible work she did day of our wedding. She provided not only herself but her team as well, having another photographer to be there. In addition, she helped to recommend our videographer, who caught all the moments live for us! We never at any point felt stressed, or that we weren't going to get the shots we asked for. She also made sure to have suggestions of her own, photos which we wouldn't have thought of and will treasure those moments forever now. During the reception, she and her team were able to be everywhere at once, and captured incredible photos all night! The light at our venue was a darker lighting, and each photo she has given us just looks full of life, and captures the day perfectly. It is amazing how much she can capture personalities so well. Nothing we have looked at looks stiff, but instead as though you are back in that moment again! Getting the completed gallery back from her was our superbowl, it was so exciting reliving our day again. I would highly recommend Tiffany to anyone, and know she will do an incredible job. She helped to make our wedding the best day of our lives, and we know we will be using her from here on out for whatever we need!
