HEAD SHOTS: Run don't walk to Alison if you need a head shot for your job, Linked In, acting etc. I know her main focus appears to be families and newborns but I think that those skills (which she has honed over 13+ years professionally) are what makes her so talented at capturing that perfect, natural photo. She has a studio but met me on site. She has a great eye for perfect natural lighting and she catches details I would never have thought. From a business perspective, she was super responsive, prompt, and eager to work with my schedule. I wanted to have belly pictures taken and scoured the internet looking for a photographer whose style I really liked. I fell in love with Alison's silhouettes and thought she was the one for me. However, her prices are expensive and decided to book a mini session hoping I'd still get the same quality of photos. A mini session is supposed to be 30 min, I was in the studio less than 25. There was little effort to make me feel comfortable, very little posing, no examining of the pictures while we were shooting to provide any feedback. I felt so rushed and stiff. Maybe this review would be different if I liked the final proofs, but I didn't like my arms or hair placement, my expression, etc, all of which could have been corrected if I'd been given more direction or been able to see the pictures as we were shooting. Anyways, since this is a once in a pregnancy if not life-time opportunity, I'm disappointed with the outcome. I guess the lesson learned if either be willing to fork out a lot more money for a longer session or find someone else. read more

Alison is awesome! A friend of mine recommended her and I am so thankful that she did. Ali took my maternity photos when I was pregnant with my twins, and then took our newborn photos too! The maternity shots turned out more beautiful than I could have hoped for, and she made me and my husband feel so comfortable, even if some of the photos were a little risque. When it came time to take the photos of our three week old babies- you can imagine the chaos! But Ali was such a professional and was able to take amazing photos despite the fact that our babies were crying/pooping/peeing the entire time! You would never know by looking at the pictures! Alison is an amazing and gifted photographer. She has taken our family photos for years and she magically manages to capture the essence of each person in a clear, beautiful way. She has also volunteered for the organization I work for and taken beautiful photos of children with autism and their family members (sometimes it can be tough to get a good shot of a child that may not like flashes or is unable to sit still, but she always manages to get beautiful photos).
