    We needed a car for a day and this Prius worked great for us! It was in great shape. Plus, the entire process via Tripio was easier than renting via Enterprise or any other car rental place we've been through in the past. Def recommended renting via Tripio! I only wish we knew they had cars in Hawai'i too before our last trip.

    We got this bright yellow Jeep from Jacob and we couldn't be happier. Service was superb! Great communication and the car gets dropped off at your doorstep. Say what? Yup. Service like this just makes traveling so easy. On our first day we took this Jeep around the island and enjoyed the Hawaiian breeze with our windows down. Got us some Giovanni's shrimp scampi, parked by the beach, sat in the trunk and enjoyed our food with a view. The car comes equipped with a USB and a C charger port for easy charging of our devices. We put the AC on blast when the humidity got to be too much. You can also pop the top and enjoy some sun but I personally hate sun so we didn't do that. The sound system is great, we enjoyed the local radio stations most of our trip but you also have the option of connecting your Bluetooth device. Because of the bright yellow, finding our car in the middle of a big parking lot was easy. It was kind of an added bonus. We enjoyed our trip so much that we honestly didn't take a whole lot of pictures but here's one of us getting shaved ice. Can't wait to come back to Hawaii again and we will definitely be hitting up Jacob for a rental. Mahalo!

It didn't have the fuel efficiency if a compact car and it was much larger than I expected. The window visibility was lacking so I returned it. The clerk said my only other choice was a Kio with a boxy build. It was actually a compact SUV but I snatched it as it was better than the first car in many ways. Well, I can't complain too much since I only paid $40/ day but it wasn't fuel efficient.

The rental area is so close to the terminals and baggage claim, it was very easy to walk across the street and get checked in. Upstairs, we found the car ready and the AC running! Interestingly, we found the check in lines for Budget and Avis were MUCH longer at the airport; we got a terrific rate through Costco, so we were happy to have short lines and a great price!

We met with agent-Chloe at the counter (I remembered her name as the perfume with same name was my favorite back in the late 80's/early 90's), she provided excellent service and provided us with the paperwork and information. We also met with one of the next agent in the parking garage (forgot her name sorry), she showed us to our vehicle and advised we could select our preferred vehicle. It was a swift 15 minute transaction from beginning to driving off. Upon returning the vehicle, met with an agent-Kayla (I remembered her name same as our daughter's). She was able to update and change the credit card for completing the payment transaction. Everyone was so very nice, happy and with beautiful smiles =) We would definitely use them again on our future trips.

After this minor frustration, the rental process was very easy. We brought the QR code back to the 4th floor and were given our rental vehicle. We reserved the manager's special. Of course, they did not have any car in that class, so we got a free upgrade. We ended up getting a Ford equinox SUV. We drove all over the island in this SUV and had the rental for four days. It was a good experience. Even returning the car was quite easy. I have no complaints and will probably rent from Sixt again.

While there was no wait, due to no one else being there, I also found no up-charging, no shady sales deals... just friendly service and reasonable prices. The car was clean and full of gas and upon return they were just as kind and efficient. However when we got to our car, we noticed that the seats wouldn't fold down, which was an issue for us because we had our golf clubs and needed the extra room. We went back to service counter near where the cars were and they were able to switch us into a bigger Jeep at no extra cost. It took a little bit of time as there were a lot of people in line here but it was well worth the wait. The new 2026 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon was such a nice drive and was easy to navigate while driving. Definitely a car worth getting especially if you have some bigger pieces of luggage. Drop off was a breeze and everything went as smooth as one could want for a car rental. I wouldn't hesitate renting from Budget again.

Dollar/Thrifty may be cheaper compared to other rental companies, but be prepared to be ignored and stand in a mind-numbing line for three hours or eternity, whichever ends first. No apology, no explanation, and no sense of urgency from the staff at any point. Others before and after me were clearly going through the same painful experience. Meanwhile, I did not see the same long lines or wait times at other rental counters in the HNL CONRAC. Someday we may all have to wait in line at purgatory... so you might as well start practicing your patience at the Dollar HNL CONRAC. Three of the seat belts were DEFECTIVE (belt could be pulled but very slowly retract), rendering it completely unsafe. We exchanged the car the following day and were given a Chrysler Pacifica. The van was TRASH when we received it. Dents, scratches all the way around. A leftover empty plastic water bottle was still in the back. There was sand in the car. I'm not sure how this even passed "servicing." They said it was the only van they had left, so we went with it and got through the rest of our trip just fine. At return, while we're still going through the terminal, we receive a damage claim. What a joke. Their car already had all of these damages before we even left the parking lot. The mileage they claimed wasn't even correct. On their report, they claimed we drove 13,412 MILES during the NINE days we had the car. That is how many miles I put into my car over a WHOLE YEAR. For the record, our actual mileage driven was 248 miles. Thankfully, I have photos of the car documenting the damage already present when we received the car.
