The food is great, worth 4.5 stars, but the service takes away 3.5 stars. Got the wrong food item, no apology, and couldn't be bothered to make up for it by bringing the food out after we ordered. One has to tip them in advance while ordering (although it's self service!). We regret doing that. I asked for the restroom and they pointed towards it, and when I got there I found out that there was a code at the door! Couldn't tell me the code when I asked them where the restroom was?!?! Bare minimum efforts from the staff. We know it's not your dream job but please be respectful of the tip that you request in advance to be paid in the faith of good service. read more

With these Covid times, going to a restaurant has been an adventure, but at Trinks, they seem to have it down. Since it was lunch time, it was somewhat busy but we found a table (yes, socially distanced) and went inside and ordered. Very friendly staff and deliciously prepared food with a variety of drinks and sweets. Nestled in with some artist's co-ops is a real gem. Luckily my hubby & I split the Trink's Meatloaf sandwich with fries which was plenty of food. The fries were hand cut and clearly prepared by order. Delicious! Sharing the sandwich left room to indulge in dessert. We choose the cherry pie and we're not disappointed. The crust was light and flaky but filling was perfectly tart and loaded with cherries. Just like my mama used to make. If the weather was warmer we could have sat outside with a view. We don't frequent here much but everytime we head to Sea Ranch for a weekend trip. We always have to stop by Trinks the next day for brunch. The staff there is always friendly. Love the Chai Tea myself and the coffee is not too shabby. Ordered an Aztec and it was actually pretty good. It had a kick to it. Ordered the blackened chicken with quinoa and the sandwich was pretty good. The chicken was tender and tasted like fresh chicken and not something frozen. The quinoa salad was actually good to my surprise. It was the perfect balance to go with my sandwich. Overall if you want something tasty and some good coffee when there's no Starbucks in sight, head on to Trinks. Also the place has remodeled since the last time I went. Love this place. Was here four years ago and again this past week once again exploring the coast. Have probably been here half a dozen times at least. The oat milk lattes are hot and tasty, the quinoa burger was delish - I got it without the cheese & mayo, which worked out just fine - the chili sauce, avocado, and the patty itself had plenty of flavor. I had the side of potatoes (the side dish, not the fries that can come with the burger) multiple times - so damn tasty! Traveling up Highway 1, I was in need to revive with sugar, caffeine, and some fresh air. Passing thru Gualala, Trinks was an easy pick as it was located off the highway. Dining area is kept clean and the view out back was an added bonus. I had a chance to try their chocolate espresso chocolate chip cookie and carrot cake. I had the little breakfast and chocolate cake with green power smoothie. Everything came out fast. My bf enjoyed his breakfast tacos. Second visit on Sunday morning. I ordered pancakes and another smoothie. My bf ordered the big breakfast with coffee. It took forever for our food to come. We waited over 40 minutes to get our food. Also they forgot his toast, so we asked out it... no toast came out... 25 minutes later I went inside to ask for the toast and the girl gave me attitude... finally when we were done with breakfast his toast came out. Some things are very good about Trinks, and I wish them well as a small local business. But I find their food quality is uneven. The scones are excellent - get there early in the morning when they're just out of the oven. Sandwiches are good. Coffee is good, lattes were well made. Breakfast (eggs, toast and bacon) is uneven. Last two times I was there my scrambled eggs were very brown around the edges - had been (over) cooked like an omelette and then chopped up. They were fairly nice when I asked to have them redone. I also wish they would make an effort to wipe down the tables more often. You basically have to do it yourself. They may be understaffed, so perhaps that will improve. read more

Let's go with 4.5 stars really. This place is just straight up delicious. Sure options are limited in Gualala, but I also feel like that gives places to have an easy pass to push out mediocre food, but not trinks. No matter whether you come for breakfast (scones people, scones) or lunch or dinner it's good. I highly recommend their smoothies, sandwiches or the burger at lunch. Also, have some good salads from what I've seen. At breakfast the pastries are so darn good, but don't miss out on the savory items. Their breakfast sando is my JAM, so good! Chedder, fresh eggs, ham on this bread roll that is so damn tasty. Finally, dinner is newer addition here and so glad they opened up. I believe it's only Wed-Saturday and check their menu online. Dinner is dictated by the seasons here and what's fresh and that's the best part. Last time I was there for dinner I had a blackened fish with seasonal veggies (can't remember the fish), but I was pretty blown away. One more final thought, and can't believe I almost forgot. Desserts. Their cookies and pies are like crack, we stock up every time we're in either Sea Ranch for the Gualala, they are so so so damn good. We dropped by this place for lunch looking for a small bite since we had an early dinner. We ordered the mom's turkey sandwich and the turtle tart. The bread was a little hard, but the cranberry sauce was juicy and it went well with the turkey. I really liked the turtle tart. It was a bit difficult to cut as the chocolate was quite hard, but if you let the tart melt a bit, it becomes much more enjoyable to eat. read more

I absolutely loveeeeee Trinks! I'm there every morning when I visit Gualala. I typically get the breakfast sandwich with bacon and avocado and it is delicious. I highly recommend getting a pack of their homemade scones that they have packaged in the freezers. The selections seem to be random but the best ones I've had were strawberry/cream cheese. After many positive visits we had a notably bad visit at 2:45 on Sunday March 11th - management take note. Or party was spread between 2 tables. After sitting down with their ice teas and lemonade, my wife took our 6 year old to the bathroom. A few moments later the hostess appeared to clean a few tables. Before anyone could say anything, the hostess picked up the brand new drinks with her table clearing and money handling fingers inside the glass. We told her that the drinks were brand new. Instead of getting new drinks the hostess simply put them back as if we didn't see her unclean knuckles plunged two deep into the drinks. We objected and asked for new drinks. With a healthy dose of attitude and after asking twice she brought a new ice tea but didn't give us a new lemonade. If this happens in plain view if customers one wonders what takes place out of sight. When our kids burgers arrived they had cheese on them despite the same hostess confirming she remembered ordering with no cheese. Instead of replacing them she said it would take too long to make new ones. She could have at least replaced the chest buns in the kitchen. How is this person employed in a dining establishment? I have traveled far and wide, sampling countless variations of this simple yet exquisite south of the border breakfast staple. And ladies and gentlemen, I believe I have found a champion! Aside from the fresh brewed french press coffee, amazing homemade pastries, delectable salads and sandwiches, Trinks cafe has the best Huevos Rancheros I have ever had. The combination of farm fresh eggs, black beans, salsa, avocado, and crispy corn tortillas melded together beautifully and effortlessly, as if these food items were destined for each other. staying at Sea Ranch this was only a 5 min drive - the cafe is right off highway and has plenty of parking - i went in and no line .. they had a few pastries, mostly cookies and stuff - they had individual beers for sale which was cool. but they didn't have coffee to sell; a coffee shop that forgot to order coffee? fail. i'll be back, the breakfast sandwich was delicious!! read more

Very clean respectful, Cafe with friendly staff and pleasant atmosphere. My favorite sandwich there so far is the breakfast sandwich with sunny side up eggs it has melted cheddar on a buttery bolillo bread warm and satisfying. They just needed more seating it was limited as im sure they are taking precautions I respect that. Outdoor seating and it has a great view of the ocean. If the weather is nice, grab a table outside and drink that latte overlooking the ocean. Can't beat the view. Their scones, pastries, and pies were ginormous and looked delicious. We opted for the veggie breakfast sandwich- eggs, cheese, avocado, tomatoes, and greens. For about $10, it fills you up. All their breakfast foods looks good, and they even have healthy options like lentil bowls. You order at the counter and they bring the food to you. Friendly customer service. When I'm in the Gualala area Trinks is my favorite place to get an espresso drink and dessert and use their free Wi-Fi. Their cakes and baked goods are made fresh daily so you never quite know what they might offer but it's always delicious!! You can also special order cakes for birthdays and other occasions. They have light food such as soups, salads and sandwiches with vegetarian choices but their desserts are really what they're known for. I can't wait to go back - I dream about it! read more

This is a great little cafe. And apparently everybody else in Gualala and the surrounding areas thinks so too. Boy was this place crowded and they sell out of their amazing scones fast! So make sure and get in early to grab a scone. I tried a ginger one and it was to die for. Also, very good breakfast food. We did not try them out for lunch, but I'm sure they make a mean sandwich. A little pricey, but the food is worth it and they have Flying Goat coffee. Yum! Don't forget the Wi-Fi. It was the primary reason, we came here while on vacation. read more

Maybe it depends on the day. The good is it's a nice view with outdoor tables. The latte was hot and delicious. There was one vegetarian choice for lunch a portabella mushroom burger. I ordered it with no aioli on the bun. It came with aioli on the bun. The whole thing was so wet with the sauce, the mushroom and coleslaw that it just fell apart into a soggy mess as I tried to eat it. The fries were soggy too. Just very unappetizing as a whole. And I just couldn't eat it. This is supposed to be an upscale cafe with prices to match $19.00 plus tip for a sandwich with fries. My recommendation, go to either one of the markets in town for takeout food then go to Trinks for coffee and dessert. it will be a better experience. read more

We were SO impressed with the epicurean style quality of the breakfasts here--gourmet! REAL syrup, local fresh eggs, fluffy light-as-a-feather pancakes, and bacon perfectly cured, so good! Plus the Flying Goat coffee that is amazing, small batch local brew. Dog friendly, amazing views, this is one of the best breakfasts we've had; highly recommended for foodies (and regular folks too) as you will really appreciate all of the special touches this restaurant has to offer. We also purchased some Rancho Gordo beans, a freshly baked cake from their bakery, and some fabulous hot sauce to give as gifts. Great stop on our coastal vacation! read more
