Wasted my time and energy. I specifically asked the sales rep if they worked directly with Nyserda and he assured me they did, as I was already approved through Nyserda for this work and told him this during our phone conversation. I agreed to meet with them again to finalize numbers. On a Friday night the rep sat there and wasted almost two hours of my time; Monday morning they called to say they do NOT work with Nyserda. This is because they wanted me to take their high interest funding instead. Would NEVER work with this company and I am letting all my friends, neighbors, etc know. They are completely falsifying themselves as they represent themselves as Nyserda certified yet try the bait and switch by telling you you can wait months for paperwork, your going to loose the Federal rebates etc. Scare tactics are a disgrace in sales! read more

They stole my identity and ran my credit after I told them not to. My wife and I were in the middle of a re-fi. We could not have a hard hit show up on the account. In my emails with the sales rep setting up a consultation, I informed him of this. He replied saying ok, no issues. Consult day arrives and he has a good pitch. He requests to run a pre-authorization which is not a hard hit. We had a several minute conversation regarding this and how he didn't even need our SSNs. OK, fine. Yeah, 2 hard hits later and an email of him saying oops, and they refuse to remove it. His last email said that I doubt this effected your refi rate. Yeah, guess I will never know. Deceptive. Delivered damaged equipment, then they wanted use touch up paint instead of delivering new equipment. They were not going to perform framing that was required by the engineer. Once they stated the framing they did not finish it correctly and we had to push the issue to have it correct before the home inspector would pass it. Every single person I have been in contact with has been rude and useless. My solar was turned on in October and has worked a total of 5 days since...it's mid-December. No one has been in contact with me to fix my BRAND NEW solar panels, and I'm being charged for "estimated production," which is nonsense because the panels aren't producing anything. I don't much about this company but I do have one observation. The company needs to reevaluate their training program for cold calling. I just arrived home from a long day at work. My commuting day begins at 0415 and does not end until after 1800. The salesperson approached me (started conversation) as I was exiting my car. That was her first mistake. I need to decompress from the day. Her approach bought her a "not interested in hearing anything else from you" ticket. She started her sales pitch and I immediately told her I wasn't interested. in the beginning they were great attentive, fast, great customer service. now after 2 years they have poor customer service, they did not tell me of all the things i would have needed such as a cradle guard to prevent animals from nesting under my panel, and now they want to charge a fee of 1k+ to remove the panel for me to fix the roof and NO THEY ARE CLAIMING IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THEIR PRODUCT AND THEY ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE. 6+ month I've had a leaky roof and making calls and sending emails for someone to return my call. worst part I have children under 5 years old and messed up their toys. I would give 5 stars to installers. I would give the company no stars. I got stuck in a bait and switch scam where I was told I was approved for financing (loan) to purchase the solar system and would be eligible for all incentives including SRECs and tax credit. After the system became functional and I inquired about how to receive the incentives, I was informed that my system was owned by SunRun and I was in a lease agreement with them and therefore not entitled to incentives. I have proof that I was told I had purchased the system with financing. The company has failed to make things right in what has been over 4 months. My phone calls and emails go unanswered. I was told that it's at the CEO level (so obviously they took me seriously) but I have yet to hear anything. Do not deal with Trinity Solar!!!!! Got her to give up her electric account number and worse yet her checking account number "for verification purposes." Said would mail forms and never did. Family friends and bank had to get involved to get forms. When mailed May 1st, and the 3 day cancellation request form was part of the package. It had expired almost 2 weeks earlier. Called co., emailed co. phone co. and praying we have got it stopped. Had to have bank block their company and the home company as well. An absolute nightmare !! Zero customer service. The first crew came out for install and did a good job. Then the second crew came out and was unprofessional, sloppy disrespectful of my property along with neglecting to do basic things like caulking holes in my siding. They also defaced the side of my house because they were too lazy to do the job right. I waited over a month after making many phone calls to get them to fix this and still am waiting for the ductwork that was crushed in my attic to be replaced five weeks later! I believe that I have been getting the run-around because they are focused on doing installs and just put me on the back burner. Although they claim to be the largest on the east coast, you can expect to leave a voicemail when calling for help. Extremely unorganized company. Very dissatisfied to this point and unfortunately I signed a 25 year lease with them! I will update this review going forward. Update on 1/23/18 Trinity finally replaced a part that caused us to loose solar for about two months. When my wife asked if we could get credit for this downtime, she was told "no, it's in the contract". So we paid for two months of service while waiting for them to replace a part and got nothing for it. I'm not surprised coming from this company and I've just dropped them to one star because of it. Update on 4/7/18 I called Trinity regarding damage to my gutters because they neglected to install snow guards with installation. They refused to take responsibility and want to charge me to retrofit the snow guards. Based on all of my past experiences, this doesn't surprise me in the least. Someone from Trinity Solar came to my home today. Rang the doorbell which clearly has a no soliciting sign right above it. The gentleman said he was doing an "energy survey" for my neighborhood. I had a salesperson from Sunrun who came to my door, saying the same thing and only told me he was actually working for a solar company when pressed. So, I asked this guy who his employer was and he said it was Trinity Solar, but he was there to do a survey. Of course, when I told him I already have solar, there was no survey. I do not appreciate these folks ignoring no soliciting signs under the guise of doing a survey. The only survey to be done is to figure out if they can sell you solar. Based on the reviews I've seen of this company, I certainly would not have gone with them anyway. On a positive note, this guy was polite and left when I told him I have solar, hence the reason for 2 stars instead of 1. I'm sure he's just doing what he is told to do by Trinity but I do not appreciate this type of sales tactic. No soliciting means no soliciting. read more

Trinity is legitimately the worst contractor I have ever worked with. My solar array is consistently down, specifically with the SolarEdge component. They pretend to care and work on it, but at the end of the day, 3 years later, they are flopping with their support. Sorry guys, don't go with them. This company repeatedly harasses people in their homes by phone and in person even after being told NO and they completely disregard the do-not-call registry. Had to call the police on a guy creeping around my home who was not wearing anything indicating what company he worked for. We thought he was a burglar and called the cops. The cops said he worked for Trinity, he did NOT have a permit to solicit in our town, and he was told to get lost. Today two more salespeople woke me from my much needed sleep, banging on my door. Then they caught an attitude when I told them that I work at night and didn't appreciate them being on my property. I interviewed a few diff solar companies and decided on trinity. They weren't the cheapest (not too far off) but my neighbor used a different solar company and there is white wires all over the roof. Very happy with the job they did. The system got turned on sooner than they said, but I guess that depends on where you live. I'm in New York and saw some reviews in other states that said differently, which was a concern of mine. Overall, awesome experience and glad to be saving some money! read more

Trinity installed my system just fine. Then I had a problem with sliding snow that caused major damage. No one explained how this could have and should have prevented. Instead they pushed me off to the financing company and they really didn't care. Customer service her is awfull stay clear. Unfortunately, my mother was one of those gullible seniors that fell for the pitch. Who sells a 25yr contract to an 82yr old? She passed away a month after they were turned on. People hear 'free' & they are sold. Her monthly lease payment equaled what she had been paying AC Electric prior. The value of her house decreased (instead of increased, which was another sales pitch). I had to buy out the contract in order to sell the house. Buyer beware! I can usually find a way to be satisfied with a purchase or service even if it wasn't up to par, as long as I feel like my concerns have been heard and validated.. That is not the case in this situation with Sunnova and Trinity Solar. My wife and I were super excited to help the environment, as well as swept up in the (too good to be true) deal that Trinity offered as they went door to door last summer. The panels were installed in August and went fully operational in November. Once they were operational, I quickly found a squirrel nest under one of the panels at the beginning of December. This is where the story takes a nosedive in the customer service department. As soon as I found the nest I contacted Trinity and the liaison who came to the house to help convince us to join Trinity. After making contact, Trinity's response was we can give you an estimate for your panels and you should contact the owner of the panels Sunnova. After multiple phone calls and hours spent going round and round with Trinity and Sunnova I was left with the response that this was my financial responsibility. Trinity and Sunnova knowingly installed the panels with a tree nearby. Ultimately, they did not disclose information regarding this issue prior to installation. Trinity, and Sunnova were unreachable, and forget about having a phone call returned. This issue began in December and is still ongoing in March. After hours wasted talking to both companies all I received was we won't cover the cost of the critter guards. If you are thinking of joining a solar company at any time in the future please make sure you choose someone other then Trinity and Sunnova. I can promise that if an issue arises you will feel similar to me, your concerns will go unheard and you will feel like your problems are not important. My estimate for the critter guards was approximately $619.00. I refused to pay for this, as it was not disclosed nor was this handled with appropriate care and support. Sincerely, Zachary read more

Great installation. But they refuse to install snow guards on there dime. So far I had to change 2 skylights that were damaged from the snow falling down after melting and also have my gutters reinstalled after getting ripped down from snow. I've called repeatedly about this. They sent a crew to take pictures. I call and get run Around. Now your stuck with them till your contract is up. Whatever your concerns are. GET IN WRITTING. While putting my garbage out at 8:30om and also completely dark outside, I was approached by a man in my driveway asking me to confirm my name (he knew my full Name) and was pitching this company. No paperwork, had nothing with him. He wanted me to make an appointment on a Saturday for him to come back with another person. I was so nervous thank goodness my husband came out. 5 minutes later the police showed up because he was knocking door to door in the neighborhood and some one complained. I have been trying to reach Trinity solar now for 6 mos. Emails are being responded after 5 follow ups. As I was trying to sell my SREC's, I was told by GATS that the system size is incorrect. I went back to Trinity and after few months they corrected the same. Second issue remains open is the generation. I have a 19KW system and it is generating half of what it should generate. Not sure if one of the inverters is not connected? Again tried reaching Trinity Solar but no response. By far the worst customer service I have every experienced. They will sweet talk into selling you the system but then absolutely crap customer support. Stay Away! Take your money somewhere else. read more

Terrible experience, once installed, had serious technical issues. Didn't want to take responsibility passing the buck to Sunrun. Sunrun passing buck back to them. Was supposed to be operational since May 20th, it's now August 30th and have not received one dime of solar savings. Sunrun finally gave me a credit towards my lease payment. However Trinity did NOTHING but continually refer me to the next representative and would not let me speak to management. Shady Company. So sad I'm locked in contract with them for 20 years, makes me want to sell my house. read more
