Trinity Solar's putting a great big ground mount into my backyard. Their customer service crew or "project concierge" team (as they like to call them) have helped out lots and have dealt with all the township shenanigans...hehe Shenanigans :D Overall great experience. No complaints other than having to wait 3+ months for an install, but as I understand, I have Howell township to thank for that -.- Thanks Howell... Will post pics after install. Fingers crossed everything goes according to plan! read more

These guys were great when selling the system and the also did a nice job of installation. However, since my install and several requests, I have not received any contact from them at all. I have no idea how the system works, how to turn it on and off, or what the digital display on the inverter means. In fact, I have seen much better installations that look better than theirs. But now, I can only monitor what the system produces. I can't see what I'm drawing from the grid, or how much power I am using. So I ended up buying a Sense monitor to give me that info. Except, Sense advises that I hire an electrician to install it. But the Sense instructions seem so easy that I think I will do it myself. I kind of wish Trinity Solar would do this for me. But, there is no support from them at all. In fact, I, and the people that recommended them to me, are both still waiting for our $500 rebates that we were promised. 9 weeks after the installation?? I'm not sure that I will ever hear from them again? Update Jan 31, 2020 I still stand with the same opinion that there hasn't been any follow up from Trinity. However, I have installed my own Sense monitor that shows me the details of how much Solar is producing compared to how much I am using from the grid. I can say I am saving at least half of what I was paying with ACE alone. That will diminish as the system ages so I'm not sure what the 25 year average will bring. I do know that I have had one roof leak due to the installation but I expect that was due to one ice storm we had where ice accumulated under one of the solar mounts but I am afraid to call Trinity back to repair because it will probably end up in a hassle. It's not leaking now in rain but I still have to repair the damage. Oh well, all in all, I'm happy but at the same time disappointed. But I'll give them another star for saving me money for the time being! But please be advised- do not buy into a set monthly rate. The cost will increase as time goes on. Buy a plan where you only pay a set rate for what the system produces. Or best, if you can afford to invest in it, buy the system yourself so you can capitalize on the SRECs for every 1000kWhs you produce because it will pay for your system over time and may eventually become profitable! read more

Wasted my time and energy. I specifically asked the sales rep if they worked directly with Nyserda and he assured me they did, as I was already approved through Nyserda for this work and told him this during our phone conversation. I agreed to meet with them again to finalize numbers. On a Friday night the rep sat there and wasted almost two hours of my time; Monday morning they called to say they do NOT work with Nyserda. This is because they wanted me to take their high interest funding instead. Would NEVER work with this company and I am letting all my friends, neighbors, etc know. They are completely falsifying themselves as they represent themselves as Nyserda certified yet try the bait and switch by telling you you can wait months for paperwork, your going to loose the Federal rebates etc. Scare tactics are a disgrace in sales! read more

Before you consider having solar install to your house, I dont recommend using a solar company named Trinity or their solar provider named Sunnova. I have had an on going dispute with them! Deceptive sales people. Told me the panels would pay for 100% of my electric, but when it didn't Trinity told me to read my contract...and they told me my roof was fine but it started to leak after installing the panels read more

After a lot of back and forth with Trinity, I am updating my negative review as they really have gone above and beyond to accommodate me. I'm very impressed by their commitment to customer service in that way. I understand my particular situation fell outside their "typical" customer and so we ran into problems. What's important to me here, though, is how sincerely they wanted to make it right. And they worked hard with me to get it right. So I'm now comfortable recommending Trinity. read more

They stole my identity and ran my credit after I told them not to. My wife and I were in the middle of a re-fi. We could not have a hard hit show up on the account. In my emails with the sales rep setting up a consultation, I informed him of this. He replied saying ok, no issues. Consult day arrives and he has a good pitch. He requests to run a pre-authorization which is not a hard hit. We had a several minute conversation regarding this and how he didn't even need our SSNs. OK, fine. Yeah, 2 hard hits later and an email of him saying oops, and they refuse to remove it. His last email said that I doubt this effected your refi rate. Yeah, guess I will never know. Screw you. read more

Deceptive. Delivered damaged equipment, then they wanted use touch up paint instead of delivering new equipment. They were not going to perform framing that was required by the engineer. Once they stated the framing they did not finish it correctly and we had to push the issue to have it correct before the home inspector would pass it. Also, we were promised an Monitoring app for and we are still waiting on the app. Also, they showed up for CC an update and tried to enter my property without permission. Stay away! read more

My sales person at trinity quit no one told me Signed a contract in March they came to measure my roof first week in April and I've never heard back left so many messages to my sales person who assured me he would be with me the whole project... then left over 10 messages for my liaison heard nothing. Left a bad review on BBB and finally someone calls me. Didn't review my account a head of time and just kept me on the phone for an hour spewing garbage. read more

Don't even open the door for them. The salesman, Chuck, told me he would put my paperwork on hold while I considered solar, but he did not and it went through anyway. Every single person I have been in contact with has been rude and useless. My solar was turned on in October and has worked a total of 5 days since...it's mid-December. I've called and filed a case with Sunnova who just passes the buck to Trinity. No one has been in contact with me to fix my BRAND NEW solar panels, and I'm being charged for "estimated production," which is nonsense because the panels aren't producing anything. Do yourself a favor and stay away! read more

I don't much about this company but I do have one observation. The company needs to reevaluate their training program for cold calling. I just arrived home from a long day at work. My commuting day begins at 0415 and does not end until after 1800. The salesperson approached me (started conversation) as I was exiting my car. That was her first mistake. I need to decompress from the day. Her approach bought her a "not interested in hearing anything else from you" ticket. She started her sales pitch and I immediately told her I wasn't interested. I just felt that she was inconsiderate and rude. Besides there is a notice at the entrance of our subdivision which states no so soliciting is allowed. Unbelievable. read more

Wrong company sorry for the review as the company I had is just a partner for trinity

I would give 5 stars to installers. I would give the company no stars. I got stuck in a bait and switch scam where I was told I was approved for financing (loan) to purchase the solar system and would be eligible for all incentives including SRECs and tax credit. After the system became functional and I inquired about how to receive the incentives, I was informed that my system was owned by SunRun and I was in a lease agreement with them and therefore not entitled to incentives. I have proof that I was told I had purchased the system with financing. The company has failed to make things right in what has been over 4 months. My phone calls and emails go unanswered. I was told that it's at the CEO level (so obviously they took me seriously) but I have yet to hear anything. Do not deal with Trinity Solar!!!!! Especially if not buying your system outright. read more

in the beginning they were great attentive, fast, great customer service. now after 2 years they have poor customer service, they did not tell me of all the things i would have needed such as a cradle guard to prevent animals from nesting under my panel, and now they want to charge a fee of 1k+ to remove the panel for me to fix the roof and NO THEY ARE CLAIMING IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THEIR PRODUCT AND THEY ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE. 6+ month I've had a leaky roof and making calls and sending emails for someone to return my call. worst part I have children under 5 years old and messed up their toys. I'm so disappointed that i picked this company i wouldn't refer them to my worst enemy. they go by a different name SUNNOVA solar. read more

PLEASE READ THIS AND WARN YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS !! This the worst company ever. PREYING ON OLD PEOPLE !!! The sales people went to my neighbors house (85 yrs. old) convinced her EVERYTHING WAS "FREE". (she had to pay them every month more than her current electric bill is now. (FAILED TO TELL HER THAT PART.) Had her sign or initial various forms, 1 was that it was a 30 year agreement. Got her to give up her electric account number and worse yet her checking account number "for verification purposes." Said would mail forms and never did. Family friends and bank had to get involved to get forms. When mailed May 1st, and the 3 day cancellation request form was part of the package. It had expired almost 2 weeks earlier. Called co., emailed co. phone co. and praying we have got it stopped. Had to have bank block their company and the home company as well. An absolute nightmare !! Zero customer service. The first crew came out for install and did a good job. Then the second crew came out and was unprofessional, sloppy disrespectful of my property along with neglecting to do basic things like caulking holes in my siding. They also defaced the side of my house because they were too lazy to do the job right. I waited over a month after making many phone calls to get them to fix this and still am waiting for the ductwork that was crushed in my attic to be replaced five weeks later! I believe that I have been getting the run-around because they are focused on doing installs and just put me on the back burner. Although they claim to be the largest on the east coast, you can expect to leave a voicemail when calling for help. Extremely unorganized company. Very dissatisfied to this point and unfortunately I signed a 25 year lease with them! I will update this review going forward. Update on 1/23/18 Trinity finally replaced a part that caused us to loose solar for about two months. When my wife asked if we could get credit for this downtime, she was told "no, it's in the contract". So we paid for two months of service while waiting for them to replace a part and got nothing for it. I'm not surprised coming from this company and I've just dropped them to one star because of it. Update on 4/7/18 I called Trinity regarding damage to my gutters because they neglected to install snow guards with installation. They refused to take responsibility and want to charge me to retrofit the snow guards. Based on all of my past experiences, this doesn't surprise me in the least. I'm just glad no one in my family including my dogs were injured during any of the avalanches of snow that have occurred during the winter. read more

Someone from Trinity Solar came to my home today. Rang the doorbell which clearly has a no soliciting sign right above it. The gentleman said he was doing an "energy survey" for my neighborhood. I had a salesperson from Sunrun who came to my door, saying the same thing and only told me he was actually working for a solar company when pressed. So, I asked this guy who his employer was and he said it was Trinity Solar, but he was there to do a survey. Of course, when I told him I already have solar, there was no survey. I do not appreciate these folks ignoring no soliciting signs under the guise of doing a survey. The only survey to be done is to figure out if they can sell you solar. Based on the reviews I've seen of this company, I certainly would not have gone with them anyway. On a positive note, this guy was polite and left when I told him I have solar, hence the reason for 2 stars instead of 1. I'm sure he's just doing what he is told to do by Trinity but I do not appreciate this type of sales tactic. No soliciting means no soliciting. read more

Trinity is legitimately the worst contractor I have ever worked with. My solar array is consistently down, specifically with the SolarEdge component. They pretend to care and work on it, but at the end of the day, 3 years later, they are flopping with their support. Sorry guys, don't go with them. They are pleasant to deal with, but they aren't effective in their approach. Even after escalation of issues they continue to drop the ball, it's a nightmare, go somewhere else. read more

This company repeatedly harasses people in their homes by phone and in person even after being told NO and they completely disregard the do-not-call registry. Had to call the police on a guy creeping around my home who was not wearing anything indicating what company he worked for. We thought he was a burglar and called the cops. The cops said he worked for Trinity, he did NOT have a permit to solicit in our town, and he was told to get lost. Today two more salespeople woke me from my much needed sleep, banging on my door. Then they caught an attitude when I told them that I work at night and didn't appreciate them being on my property. If I ever wanted/needed solar I would research it my damn self and seek out a reputable company. I can promise it will NEVER be this one. read more

I interviewed a few diff solar companies and decided on trinity. They weren't the cheapest (not too far off) but my neighbor used a different solar company and there is white wires all over the roof. Very happy with the job they did. The system got turned on sooner than they said, but I guess that depends on where you live. I'm in New York and saw some reviews in other states that said differently, which was a concern of mine. Overall, awesome experience and glad to be saving some money! read more

Unfortunately, my mother was one of those gullible seniors that fell for the pitch. Who sells a 25yr contract to an 82yr old? She passed away a month after they were turned on. People hear 'free' & they are sold. Her monthly lease payment equaled what she had been paying AC Electric prior. The value of her house decreased (instead of increased, which was another sales pitch). I had to buy out the contract in order to sell the house. Buyer beware! I can usually find a way to be satisfied with a purchase or service even if it wasn't up to par, as long as I feel like my concerns have been heard and validated.. That is not the case in this situation with Sunnova and Trinity Solar. My wife and I were super excited to help the environment, as well as swept up in the (too good to be true) deal that Trinity offered as they went door to door last summer. The panels were installed in August and went fully operational in November. Once they were operational, I quickly found a squirrel nest under one of the panels at the beginning of December. This is where the story takes a nosedive in the customer service department. As soon as I found the nest I contacted Trinity and the liaison who came to the house to help convince us to join Trinity. After making contact, Trinity's response was we can give you an estimate for your panels and you should contact the owner of the panels Sunnova. After multiple phone calls and hours spent going round and round with Trinity and Sunnova I was left with the response that this was my financial responsibility. Trinity and Sunnova knowingly installed the panels with a tree nearby. Ultimately, they did not disclose information regarding this issue prior to installation. Trinity, and Sunnova were unreachable, and forget about having a phone call returned. This issue began in December and is still ongoing in March. After hours wasted talking to both companies all I received was we won't cover the cost of the critter guards. If you are thinking of joining a solar company at any time in the future please make sure you choose someone other then Trinity and Sunnova. I can promise that if an issue arises you will feel similar to me, your concerns will go unheard and you will feel like your problems are not important. My estimate for the critter guards was approximately $619.00. I refused to pay for this, as it was not disclosed nor was this handled with appropriate care and support. Sincerely, Zachary read more

I have been trying to reach Trinity solar now for 6 mos. Emails are being responded after 5 follow ups. As I was trying to sell my SREC's, I was told by GATS that the system size is incorrect.
