Had just moved and needed a new dentist so of course I turned to google and tried to find one close to me. I got very lucky because my first visit was great. They have Tvs available with all the streaming stations for you to watch while getting your teeth looked at etc. The entire staff was very welcoming and courteous and they explained everything they saw with my teeth in normal people speak. The dentist was also great and instead of just saying hey we recommend this, she showed pictures of exactly what was going on with my teeth and her recommendations and why.

I truly don't know where to begin with this office. I'm a new client and honestly it begin nice and exceeded my expectation. However, my most recent experiences have been filled with miscommunication, lies and blame placed on the client. In short, I didn't receive an item, the item finally came in (it was a ton of back of forth that finally led up to this, but I won't go into detail), I went to pick it up on Tuesday at 4:38pm and the office was closed. Per the front desk secretary, their hours are 8:30am-4:30pm on Tuesday and it was my fault for not calling, HOWEVER, on their website, on their voicemail, on YELP and on Google the hours are 8:00am-5:00pm on Tuesday. Per her email Google is the most accurate, however, it's obvious she updated that today and she put the wrong time there in her haste and put 7:00am-4:00pm for Tuesday hours. This office is extremely unprofessional and does not take accountability. If I'm wrong, I have no hesitation admitting that, but to say I should've called when it shows you're open is crazy to me.

*Please get a second opinion and decent service elsewhere.*…read more -I used their website form to book an appointment. I didn't get a reply for over a week, so I had to call twice during business hours for them to pick up and book. -I never received an appointment reminder, so I called back to confirm the time. -I show up for my appointment 10 minutes early and waited another 40 minutes after the appointment time to be seen. -The office is not kept up (dusty, scuffs everywhere, etc). The rooms do not have full walls and are all open so you hear everyone's business and they can hear yours. -Xrays are done in the hallway. Odd since I have always seen the tech step away to protect themselves. Awkward as a patient as well. -Before they do the cleaning, Dr Vargas comes and points out every little thing you could fix with your teeth without any conversation or inquiry into your history. -The billing person then comes to you with the bill. In my case, about $8,000. Since I go to the dentist every 6 months and floss like clockwork, this was either a great catch or inflated. -I nicely explain that since this is my first visit to Dr Vargas I would like to move forward with just the cleaning for that day and will let them know if I would like to move forward with the $8,000 in other suggestions later. -Without explanation, I'm asked to get up an leave. I still to this day do not understand why they didn't clean my teeth unless each chair has a $8,000 minimum spend. -I go to another dentist for a second opinion. They explain Dr Vargas is a reactionary dentist and after actually listening to my history, advised to not move forward with the work because it will compromise my teeth's structural integrity far too prematurely. If I keep up with my hygiene habits, I may not need to action anything for a decade or ever. Due to this great communication, I did decide to action on a few things with this other dentist. -Two months after my visit at Championship Dental, I get a call that I need to "settle my account". Since they did not provide me the service I requested and I never received a bill in the mail, I was confused and frankly dreading that they had inserted themselves back in my life asking for money after such a poor experience. They explained I owe for my visit with them. Not getting much helpful information from them besides a refusal to explain why they have the gall to charge me when they refused me service, they leave it with "they will send me to collections". Over $58 and an unsatisfied customer? Cool. -Then I have to waste more of my time and call my insurance to properly understand what is going on. Again, a very easy conversation which does not come willingly at Championship Dental. Championship Dental took a Panorex xray that is typically only billable to insurance every 3 years. A very easy thing to call and confirm with insurance prior to service and was not done. -I requested to talk to Dr Vargas to explain my experience as a possible way to rectify this misunderstanding. She requested to cancel our appointment the morning of and I never received a follow up. Dr Vargas, here is what you were not willing to discuss with me in private. I hope my account of my experience keeps more than $58 away from this business.

Shout to Melissa for being the first person I spoke to who gave me a warm welcome, deeply listened to my billing & insurance concerns, and referred me to a team member for additional assistance. Applause for Samantha who helped me w/ my dental credit and thoroughly informed me on what to expect with the additional services. Big smile for Jessica the dental photographer. She was friendly, positive, caring and gentle. She also was thorough -- she took an extra picture of an area that had some sensation (no pain or discomfort). Dr. Cunningham was approachable, open to my questions, and did not seem rushed. She took the time out to show me what was going on with my teeth in the X-ray and educated me on some of the dental terms. I never knew that my wisdom teeth are already there, just underneath my gums. Cool to see where they were via X-ray. Keeley was THE best hygienist I was paired up with. She was gentle, took the time to educate me, pointed out the dental areas that I need to be more mindful of, gave me great tips on how to get to hard to reach molars: relax mouth halfway, instead of opening mouth all the way. She also said for gum health a reading of 1-3 are healthy, if there were any 4s, they would address it. Also, last interesting I learned is that tartar builds up after 48 hours of plaque not being properly removed. My mouth is really happy to get the care it deserves :-) Thank you Mint of Oak Cliff/Bishop Arts!

For the longest time, like everyone else I've heard the radio ads for Mint Dentistry like an…read moreoverplayed record. I finally decided to give them a try twice this year & regret both visits but I will stick to my experience at the Bishop Arts location. My appointment was scheduled for 1:45pm. Granted this took quite some arranging since I have braces with an orthodontist almost an hour away & normally have to make 3 appointments just to get things done with both. The staff knew well in advance & I reminded them yet again at my appointment that my ortho appointment was at 4:20pm giving them at LEAST 2 hours for a cleaning. I arrived on time for my appointment but did not see the doctor until 3PM. If the appointment wasn't vital I would've left. As I sat waiting, I had to notify my ortho I wouldn't make it on time in the mist of that someone came in to ask for out-of-pocket money for a "deep cleaning". Keep in mind I just had the exact same services done 6 months prior, but she was requesting almost $100. I was already irritated so I set up a payment plan because that didn't seem right to me & needed to speak with my insurance. Furthermore, I didn't leave the office until 4PM! The doctors response "This is why I tell patients to not make appts back to back because you never know how long an appt will be & I'm the only doctor here." Excuse me ? Never have I ever been at the dentist for almost 2.5hrs for a cleaning & you being the only doctor is not my issue. If you cannot maintain your schedule don't book patients BACK TO BACK ! Ultimately, I was correct regarding the costs & they had to refund me which took a couple weeks. The office seriously needs to reevaluate their scheduling system. Its clear one doctor cannot handle the office workload without creating an inconvenience for patients. Secondly, the finance coordinator needs to file insurance claims first to validate coverage versus assuming & incorrectly charging patients. If you have ever paid out-of-pocket, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND checking your dental EOBs to see if your insurance covered what you paid. Because unfortunately you cannot trust the billing department to audit their claims & properly reimburse patients. It also seems to be a habit of the finance department & the doctor to suggest a "deep cleaning" to gauge extra funds from patients. Google reviews can attest to this. I'm only giving 2 stars because of the staff I encountered outside of the doctor & finance person. Especially the young lady who polished my teeth! She was quick & her energy was amazing. Overall, this experience alone has made me second guess trusting any other dental office. I don't care what the radio says, I do NOT recommend Mint!

So I called Kessler Park Dental and they told me there that this was something they could do if i so desired ? So I thought, well they performed a write up on cost on paper with a 500 dollar charge for there so called preferred pricing and another 35,000 for the saving of these teeth that's if there were no other issues (yea right). I made it clear I wanted dentures and asked the dentist he tells me that he felt uncomfortable pulling in his words "teeth that can be saved "? Its very plain to me that this set up is very capitalized in a money making machine. Never mind what the patient wants. A few weeks later I had a crown come off and called them to put it back on. Went in, they said the tooth needed to be removed. And guess what, I asked to remove the tooth I was told they did not do extractions there, WAIT A MINUTE. They lied to me, denture service includes extractions, he decided to do nothing at all sends me up front for a referral for an oral surgeon. Clear across the other side of Dallas. And charges me 147 dollars for doing nothing. And to top it off I had to find my crown on a table I guess they thought they were going to keep it. Shameful just plain terrible, I wanted to warn anyone who may assume that they have a say in what happens to there teeth its plain to see that this dentist is only after the money.
