We were at a crossroads and not sure if we should move or remodel. Our family loved our house and location and thanks to Gary and Kelley at Knight Construction we were able to stay. First we had to get a plan, and they were very helpful with ideas of what would and wouldn't work with our home. Who knew a kitchen could transform the entire feeling of a house. We could not be happier with the results. The staff was so friendly and nice to work and they did such a beautiful job. Attention to detail and quality is something that is hard to come by these days and it was very refreshing to work with such a dedicated company who stands behind their word. Thank you Kelley and Gary for a job well done! Sincerely, The Bjork family

We asked Knight if they could complete the work in just six short weeks as my family (my husband and three kids under the age of five) were moving into a small apartment for three months due to timing differences in our close dates. They accommodated the request with the caveat that the bulk of the work would be completed by move in and that finishing/warranty work may need to extend another week or two. Upon signing the contract, we immediately began working with Kristin, the designer, to ensure fixtures, flooring and other items were selected and available upon closing on the new home. The day after signing the close papers, the dumpster was delivered and Jeff our project manager began demolition with his crew. I won't tell you that the project was seemless in every instance and without a couple of minor glitches. But I can tell you that in ever instance, Gary and team worked with us immediately to either remedy the issue or help us find the best solution to accommodate our budget concerns and ensure our move in date wasn't jeopardized. Over the past 10 years, we have remodeled two homes and built a third. I have used three different Companies for each of these projects and I would without question hire Knight Construction back to do another project. Over the short few months we worked with Gary and his team, he always kept his word and remedied situations that weren't up to either his quality or ours, which were minimal. I appreicated the fact that three months after the project, I'm still able to call and ask him to look at something I think got missed in the warranty period. In both circumstances he's sent someone over within days to address my concern. I would recommend him to anyone. His work is quality and it's beautiful!

Actually am writing this review regarding the installation by Dominic. He was simply the best. He called to let me know he was running a little late and told me when he would arrive (think he was within 5 minutes of stated time). That in itself was so respectful and kind. I've worked with a large number of companies and their staff. Dominic one of the first to ever take the time to let me know. Usually they show up sometime within 3-4 hour time frame company promised. If they call it's usually "I'm here in front of your house!" What a gentleman! Was done in an hour. Perfect installation. Could not have been more thorough in explaining care and maintenance. Left the room spotless. Seriously, I never write reviews. But he was impressive. Even looked at some paint samples and gave me honest opinion, so much appreciated. If you are wondering where to buy Cambria or another quartzite product, Select Surfaces is the place! Vicki L.

They came, measured everywhere, scoured blueprints, suggested this material and that, quoted a price and time estimate. All sounded on the up. Green lighted it. Work completed as promised. I had seen Danberry Building/Excelsior Design signs in the Minnetonka area for years and within minutes of meeting Jeff and his contracting team in person, I knew I liked them and that my project would be in good hands. Jeff and his team were extremely knowledgeable and insightful discussing my vision to expand my 1920's home with the goal of making the indoor and outdoor space more useable while maintaining its character that I loved so much. Now that the project is complete, I have 3 beautiful new rooms that look like they've always belonged there (a spacious formal entry, living room with custom fireplace & beamed ceiling, and a stunning walk-in pantry). Jeff's team also transformed my steep hillside landscaping (that was once very uneven) to include an amazing stamped concrete patio. Throughout the process, Jeff was always readily available to answer questions, stopped by to ensure things were getting done on time, and most importantly - he made sure that I was happy with how things were progressing. I was extremely impressed with his talented crew who worked non-stop all winter (and during one of the snowiest seasons on record in MN), not only did they do an incredible job with the new additions, but they were also so helpful with decisions, very kind, and always kept me informed of next steps. I am so happy to have chosen Danberry Building Corp and would definitely recommend his team. ~ Gabrielle (Galpin Lake area)

I have been working with Carly from Studio M who is coordinating the design side of the project. To address the previous reviewers complaint about Mingle not taking small jobs, there is something this reviewer is leaving out. Studio M will not contribute design help until you sign a contract for their time as they are a separate but complimentary entity that provides extra design services for Mingle clients. It would be absurd to expect a design firm to provide free services without a contract. Also, it would be absurd to expect a company to place an order with their supplier without a deposit. So, it is possible the communication from the previous reviewer was a bit poor. But, back to my review. First of all, our project was well under 50K. I would estimate it around 20-25K. And I have to admit that Mingle's opulent showroom initially intimidated me so much, I went through the doors with a great deal of skepticism. However, I am happy to have been proven very wrong about the perception that they would only work with big jobs. I was very upfront with them about the size of our new home and they remained unflinchingly helpful. Love love love working with Carly and Mike. We came to Mingle in a panic after realizing the cabinet supplier the builder was using just wasn't providing the service we needed. After losing weeks with the previous supplier, we were up against a wall, and Mike worked quickly with my husband to put together drawings and a quote. Then, Carly and I tweeked the layout and wood selection. It was an extremely quick process that went smoothly because of Mike and Carly's the high levels of experience, expertise and professionalism. Because Carly is an independent designer, I am able to bring items, swatches, and ideas from outside of Mingle, while utilizing the amazing selection Mingle offers. The process Studio M offers is really very fluid and flexible and helped me immensely in getting design decisions made and move our project along quickly. I am not a designer and I have never liked the selection process, but working with Carly has been extremely enjoyable because of her ability to assess and offer up reasonable options that fit my needs. Our meetings have been at Mingle, on-site and at a tile shop so far, but I look forward to using Carly's services throughout this design selection process and so appreciate her ability to help set priorities in the design and building process.

Go elsewhere and don't waste your time with them. Here is our experience: We dropped in on a weekend to discuss a remodeling project for our Maple Grove home. We were hoping for guidance on how their services work and to get started on our own remodel project, but we were told that they cannot talk about our project until we sign a contract and agree to work with them. At this point in our project we were still trying to determine if the remodel we wanted was physically possible (i.e., could we knock out certain walls and move laundry machines, etc.). They said we can bring in pictures and they can look at it - but I was more comfortable having a contractor actually see the space in person to make that determination. Again, I was told that I would need to sign a contract before any of that could happen. I asked if we could at least speak with a contractor first to determine if it was feasible; I wasn't about to commit to a project and provide a retainer fee when we didn't know if it would even be possible. They reluctantly agreed to send me a few names of contractors so I could reach out to them. I gave my phone number & email to the Mingle representative, but we never heard back from her. I later followed up with an email to her and she never responded. A royal brush off and great way to do business, Mingle. Not impressed in the least. We thought we'd give them another chance, however. Maybe we just got the wrong person and would have better luck next time. My husband called and got directed to the appropriate person - but had to leave a message. That message - left at least 2 weeks ago - remains unreturned and I have no confidence that they will ever call. Another fumble for team Mingle! They will, however, see me one more time - when I triumphantly return to Pretty Woman them with the receipts from my completed project. Maybe that will encourage them to pay more attention to customers in the future; I'm not sure how they can manage to run their business otherwise. Good luck to them.
