Throughout the remodel process, their teams of subcontractors were truly top-notch. Not only did they do amazing work for us, they were also very respectful of our home and our family. The DiGiacomos did a great job of keeping us informed of every step of the process from start to finish, and had just the right balance of including us in the important decisions and taking care of all of the little details for us. They were able to keep things moving along, and stayed within our budget. If ever an issue arose, Rocky was on it immediately. As busy working people, we truly appreciated knowing someone else was watching over every aspect of this project, moving it along, and never once did we doubt that everything would be handled perfectly. Project: We had an ugly, weed infested rock garden on a hill adjacent to the back of our home with a rotted and leaning retaining wall ready to collapse. The hill area needed leveling and reshaping, then weed barrier, rocks, and shrubs planted. The retaining wall is now made of interlocking stones and is completely level. We also added a circular yard stone patio with a stone fire pit and grill in the center. Our backyard now has an old English stone flare and is very classy. People: Joel met with us initially and followed through with us and the workers until the end. He has a very positive energy, is passionate about his company's products and services, but not pushy to the customer. He had great ideas for our project and actually did more for us than what was expected. The workers were skilled craftsmen, second to none, with great experience and great attitudes. I would not hesitate recommending them to work their trade even at the Governor's mansion. Pricing: This part surprised us as we thought the project would cost more than it actually did. This leaked behind our fridge and into our wood floors for weeks before the water level was high enough to puddle. We had a specific wood type that we were hoping to replicate. Thankfully Unique Wood Floors carried that same wood type. After my initial call, their project manager Jim contacted us to schedule a visit. We had our estimate less than a day after our visit. We stopped by their showroom in St. Paul and spoke with Michael who helped us view the flooring we were interested in. We placed our order for our flooring. Within a few weeks we were contacted for our installation. Our installer was named Al. More like super Al! Al tore out our old flooring which looked to be a very tough job. He then installed our new floor. As Al was wrapping up, first he swept the floor, then he was back down on his hand and knees with a towel wiping our floor clean. Wow. Talk about commitment. We were also impressed that Jim stopped out to check on the progress, then again after the install was completed to make sure everything looked good. Not only did it look good, we felt it looked great! I have to admit, I am very particular about how things look and our floor really looks great. I recently bought three boxes of tile from this place, drove up to pick it up at the back delivery…read moredoor. Staff seemed helpful and pretty nice. The guy loaded them up and I drove off, again very friendly and helpful. My project started two weeks after that. My contractor went to open up the boxes and started to work. When he got to the third box, five out of six tiles were cracked or broken. My contractor told me they should stand by the tile and do an exchange. So I called them to let them know and that I was in the middle of my project and needed another box and that one box was broken, so would I be able to bring these pieces back and exchange for a new box? They informed me that once the tile leaves their store, they aren't responsible anymore! Do they think I enjoyed driving another 30 miles to deal with this in the middle of my project? So I asked I'm supposed to just buy another box with no assistance? She informed me that it was company policy! I asked her to talk to a manager, she came back and said, sorry we can't do anything for you. WOW! Thanks for letting me know you have such a crappy policy and ZERO customer service! I should've shopped at the TILE SHOP! Next time we will be.
