The pricing was fair, the quality of the work was excellent, and John kept me updated throughout the entire process by sending photos of the flooring installation and hardwood refinishing. The transformation was incredible! At first, I barely recognized my own basement because it looked so completely different. The hardwood floors had a faded spot, but after John refinished them, they looked brand new. John was professional, accommodating, and a pleasure to work with from start to finish. After meeting and receiving quotes from several contractors, Carl came by our house to do the evaluation. He showed up exactly when he said he would and even brought by pictures of previous work and color samples to review without us asking specifically for them. He impressed me with his knowledge and passion for each type of wood, as our house is a little patchwork with the species, and took the time to explain each in detail. He walked the entire house with us, thoroughly inspecting each room, closet, nook and corner. We had a ton of questions about the color, areas of high traffic, and damage repair to several rooms. He met each question head-on and provided us with confidence in his experience and craftsmanship. We also had a very worn main staircase which he was very enthusiastic about tackling. We agreed on expectations, timing, and a quote was signed before he left the property. Carl had a job reschedule which allowed him to start almost immediately after his visit for quote. He estimated that work would start on Monday morning and would be wrapped by by Friday evening. Not only did he start on Monday morning as expected, but he made time in his schedule to come by one night which allowed the timeline to shrink by one day. He was wrapped up and out of the house by Thursday afternoon. As expected, Carl (and Dave) did an excellent job restoring the floors and staircase in our 80yr old home. They worked so clean that we had to search the walls and trim for any sign of dust. Their attention to detail and ability to repair damage is very impressive. We tried to find a sign of repair in two very badly damaged section and were unable to find any trace! All of the floors, regardless of species, came out even in color, texture, and finish. He recommended an only-based satin finish which looks like a million bucks! The staircase, which is a center focal point of the home, looks absolutely amazing as well. Then I reviewed my list of Christmas gifts to buy. Then I googled "cheap flooring." Lumber Liquidators popped right up. I bundled up my right hand toddler assistant and drove down to Burnsville. I picked out a click floor with the liner already attached. The sales guy was ultra helpful and kind. They didn't have my flooring in stock, but he found it at another store and off I went. I'm not saying installing the floor was a complete breeze, but it's do able for a homeowner with no experience, plus one father in law with some experience. My floor was around $350 for a 300 square foot room. Even though I hope to eventually put in a hardwood floor, this will do for now. It's pretty, easy to clean and we still got to have Christmas. ;)

My wife and I visited LL Flooring in Burnsville, MN. We had a very positive experience while visiting the store. We decided to proceed with a flooring project for our basement. We engage LL Flooring to install the flooring as they're the "experts". The "experts" arrived to install the flooring and by noon had walked off the job stating that the flooring was defective. Not only was it not defective, but they also started by installing the flooring in the middle of the room. I couldn't get another installation crew out for several days. It was also my responsibility to submit a service ticket, take picture of the defective flooring, and then work with LL Flooring customer support. I did this and didn't hear back till the following week and when I finally spoke with the customer service representative, she said that they don't have an SLA and that it's totally acceptable to respond back in that time frame. I cancelled the installation, installed it myself (with no issues and I'm not an expert installer by any means) and for the entire inconvenience of this project I was offered $150 credit. There's a lot more I could elaborate on regarding the poor customer service and experience my wife and I had but I hope that anyone who reads this reconsiders utilizing LL Flooring for installation. They're subcontractors, not LL Flooring employees, who care very little about your experience. This is from their website. I mentioned this to the customer relationship manager who I worked with. After we ordered the work, BCO was able to put the job on schedule within days. The BCO installers accidentally installed the vinyl plank in the wrong area. This error also led to some other issues. When BCO realized this, it immediately acknowledged its error and responsibility, and worked to correct as soon as it could. The BCO installers were back the next day to start addressing the issues, and Eric and another employee even visited the job after their workdays, just to evaluate and determine solutions. Matt (general manager) got involved at the end to make sure that we were satisfied with the resolution. (We were!) Jason has been painting my friend's houses and my house for years now! There was caulk along the border between the wall and the tile that had to be scraped off before it could be painted and look at how clean the line is now! I love fun colors and with something this bright it's important that every angle be clean otherwise any mistakes are glaringly obvious. You can see how nicely everything was cut in and they always do such a great job protecting things that are not being painted and then cleaning up afterwards.
