This is a fully functional restaurant and or cafe style place. They have a great menu. The menu is seasonal. It's not simple by any standards. In fact it's a great little high end place for garden parties. But today it's just two simple individuals that are having lunch in a garden together. Now we had some sort of special lunch arrangement with hummus and a Greek like salad. It was fresh and delicious. They have great coffee offerings. You must have the flavored gelato with coffee. We had the hazelnut one. It's delicious especially on these hot humid summer days. The service was great. Not being from the area they had to explain the menu to us. A few times. But all went well. They make the gelato offerings as soon as they are ordered. The food they call at the end, eventually. It's made to order. Now where else can you eat in a green house garden? Here in Lexington! This was a first for us. They have all sorts of Sunday concerts while you dine. Music among the trees and flowers. Wow! You can come to poetry readings and relax as you hear the love of someone's works. I'll see you at the Garden next time.

It was very clean and the staff were very helpful in helping us with our decisions on what to get. They let us sample several of the salad dressings until we decided what would be best on our salad choices. I got the Santorini salad as is then added Kalamata olives. I paired this with the Tuscan vinaigrette and it was perfect. I also had the White chicken chili and it was fantastic. My wife had the BLT salad with the sausage potato kale soup and she loved both. We discussed the concept of their serve line which I would compare to "Chipotle" style where you pick what you want to add. This would go over great in our community and I would like to know if they have franchise opportunities because we love it that much.

I've tried a few of their dressings but the two I most notably remember is their balsamic which was way too sweet for my taste and their cilantro lime which was more of a paste than creamy. My partner however usually gets the ranch which is pretty standard for the places nearby. Their toppings are okay, but its unfortunate that you are limited to three items before being charged more. I feel like its not enough to get a well balanced, nutritious meal that keeps you full. However, every time I have gone their workers have been lovely, always polite and making conversation! Theres also lots of seating inside and a nice patio for when the weather.

Our friendly waiter kept things moving. It was happy hour (3-6pm) so we got drinks at a reduced price. The menu had so many tempting choices it was difficult to choose. I opted for the Hawaiian chicken sandwich which was tasty. The only downside was the top of the bun was bit dry. The broccoli covered in cheese was a good change of pace. My wife got the spinach and field green salad with a piece of salmon. It was excellent and the salmon perfectly done medium rare. Prices were reasonable. Highly recommended.

On a Sunday night, there was a wait, but we were able to snag two seats at the bar. The bartenders were great--I wish I remembered their names! They made some excellent food and drink recommendations and were very attentive. We started with a Caesar salad to share, which isn't pictured, and then ordered two pasta dishes that we absolutely devoured. Everything was delicious! The following day, we discovered that many restaurants are closed on Mondays, so we ended up at Carson's again. This time, we decided to check out the back porch. We were expecting a similar menu, but the back porch seemed to focus more on meat and fish options, while we were looking for sandwiches. So, we relocated to the main dining area at Carson's without a reservation. Thankfully, the hostess was able to seat us but let us know that we would need to be finished dining by 7 p.m., which wasn't a problem for us. Our server was great, and we started with the goat cheese appetizer, which was absolutely incredible! Unfortunately, my Buffalo chicken sandwich was drenched in Buffalo sauce to the point that I couldn't really enjoy it. My spouse and I also decided to share sides of the mac and cheese and smoked Gouda broccoli. I was pretty disappointed with both because they were heavily covered in truffle, which I personally don't like. Because of that, I wasn't able to enjoy my second meal here as much as I had hoped. Nonetheless, I would still recommend checking out Carson's. There are plenty of menu options, and our first experience was fantastic. Based on my two visits, though, I would strongly recommend making a reservation if you plan to dine here!

This was our first time visiting the new Turner Commons location and we were NOT disappointed! The…read morenew location was beautifully curated and had a cozy, but upscale vibe that we're used to seeing at OBC Kitchen. They even have cozy blankets available for their fireside, outdoor dining spots; a very cute and clever touch. The bar beautifully highlights their bourbon selection which is as expansive as you would expect being in the heart of The Bluegrass As expected, the cocktails were amazing! We tried a few of their seasonal selections, a classic cocktail, and a Four Roses Small Batch neat. All were fantastic! The gin cocktail "he who shall not be named" was well balanced, bright, and overall easy to drink-a crowd pleaser! The milk and sugar (classic cocktail) and the pumpkin espresso martini were coffee-forward, not too sweet options that made for a perfect "dessert" drink without feeling like you were drinking syrup. If you want a fun, new take on some classic cocktails- OBC is never the wrong choice! Now- the food! We had the Parker's Roll- they came out piping hot in a cute cast iron skillet, a cute nod to the KY Southern cooking that I grew up with. The rosemary had just enough presence to be different/modern but was not in your face, which was a bonus for me-but if you're hoping for super flavor forward rolls these may not be for you. Not pictured, my husband's caprese chicken- it was perfectly seared with just the right amount of crispness, the marinara and caprese salad on the side were the perfect amount of freshness and brightness to lighten up the dish. The short ribs and cheesy grits felt like home- a great dish for a rainy, fall night. No complaints here! We also split the hashbrown au gratin- it was yummy, the jalapeño was pepper first, heat second and had just the right amount of freshness and heat to make an otherwise "classic" dish just a little bit more special. SERVICE! While this is a new-to-us location, OBC is a well established, well executed restaurant and the service reflects their heritage. We were fortunate to be one of the tables that Rachel and Jake were working with tonight- Rachel was training but never missed a step and honestly, was a DELIGHT to spend the evening with. :) She was kind, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. She was not "pushy" and gave us plenty of time to just enjoy each course of our meal without being interrupted with ordering the next step. Jake (her trainer) checked in every now and then for feedback on how Rachel was doing, he was always polite and helpful but honestly, not necessary because she was amazing! We also had a few members of the bar team and "runners" check in/deliver drinks and food throughout the meal- they were all polite, timely, kind, and willing to help even if it was outside of their typical "role". Price point: for us, the meal was a little more than we would pay for "just dinner" but for a rare, parents-only, night out it was perfectly reasonable. We will probably reserve this for an "occasion" or a showcase dinner when we have friends in town BUT it is perfect for that! Overall, a great time, with great people, and great food! We're excited to have them on the north side of town!

Or maybe slip into the bar unannounced. Super friendly! As they've outgrown the Tates Creek location and are building out the new location, the website and Google conflicted on who's open and where. At the moment I'm here on TC. To make sure I knew where I was going, Grace called to confirm my reservation and the correct location. Bonus points! If you're reading this they've already moved to Turner Commons. Maybe the best fries I've ever had. Seriously! I love a fry. The thicker the better. These aren't steak fries but a healthy, house cut, seasoned to perfection. I could make a meal of of these with the dipping sides of smoked tomato ketchup (meh), lemon-garlic rosemary aioli (oh yeah), and a thai chili dipping sauce (B I N G O) $9 Cola-Braised Shirt Ribs were good. The greens with bacon, I mean, bacon, rocked better than other sides in the past. So there's a win. The scoop of grits were delicious and made for a perfect trifecta @ $33. Wanting something more refreshing yet still filling? I highly recommend the Heirloom Tomatoes/Watermelon/Burrata salad $22. You will think it's huge, and it is, but you'll clean your plate. Dessert? Well. That's bourbon, Son. OBC has an exceptional collection. Peruse options on the iPad to get hints of flavors, proofs, and costs. May I suggest the Stag Single Barrel? It's uncut, unfiltered, and a very limited batch from Buffalo Trace. It's a beauty and a beast. Being a date Collect your friends Join a party Does not matter OBC is where you should band give Akeem a shout out at the bar on the way to your table

Really the kind of place you want to see in your town. Food is delicious, the whole menu is clearly put together with thought and the ingredients are, I'll say it, phenomenal! So many types of breads for their sandwiches, for instance. I got the steak bahn mi, and that is a bread centric, fresh ingredient sandwich, and my god it might be the best bahn mi I've ever had! You'd think it came from a Vietnamese place in downtown LA or something. 18 dollars, not mad at it at all. Wish it had a side but we'll forgive... The beer menu, same thing. Not boring, not frilly. Had a seasonal pumpkin ale, loved it. They also have seasonal cocktails, similarly thought out- planteray rum instead of morgan, example A. Example B a guava margarita. 15 dollars but it should be 15 dollars. Vibes are nice, maybe a little burger counter meets a hotel lobbyish, but the bar is solid. It's got a garage door that opens up when the weathers right. The wifi is fast and it has the appropriate amount of TVs. Staff is all good at their job. Right now I have Stephanie behind the bar, personable and attentive but not overbearing. Music is good and not too loud. OVERALL: Man PHENOMENAL spot. I'd recommend it for lunch, a beer with a buddy, really any casual dinner, maybe a lower stakes business meeting or a first date if she's not too too bougie.
