The staff was arguing with one another the entire time we were there and they had one song on a continuous loop on the overhead speakers. It was so bad. I needed a takeout lunch, and I wasn't all that optimistic about this place, but they impressed. My order was ready on arrival, and the vegetarian bowl option they had included two different types of tofu, as well as avocado and some vegetables. The option to customize by leaving off or adding things was available. I got wasabi on the side, but truthfully the sweet chili sauce was delicious enough that I forgot I had it and never used it. I guess I can put my wasabi on something else. The flavored milk tea I got on the side was a bit more of a mixed experience. The amount of ice was small, which is good for getting more actual drink, but the result was a beverage that was cold at the top of the cup and quite warm at the bottom. It was a strawberry candy kind of flavor, but I'm not saying it wasn't tasty. All in all, I'm not sure you could do better in the Lexington area for this sort of thing. read more

Love love love! A poké bowl is a great option when I want more food than an 8pc sushi roll! First, I have to say this place is quick! I've ordered it for pick up and it's been read within minutes. The prices are very reasonable, what you might pay for a typical sushi roll ($12) is usually what a poke bowl is. It is a lot of food for the money and usually 1/2 of one fills me up. Get it for lunch and eat the rest for dinner. Next, the flavors are amazing and it taste so fresh! I have tried a create your own bowl and a spicy bowl with crab, tuna, and salmon! I'm not a big Tuna fan, but I didn't mind it in the spicy bowl. I loveeee their spicy salmon and spicy crab mix though. My only con is the location. As someone that loves raw fish, I can advocate for the quality of the food at Miyako. Poke is one of my favorite foods, but good poke restaurants are hard to come by. The concept can be iffy, because you never know how fresh the ingredients are, but I lucked out at Miyako! All the ingredients in my bowl were delicious, but the chili sauce may have been my favorite part! It was delicious, and the perfect balance between sweet and spicy. Not sure how well the staff understands English, which made me nervous when I disclosed my gluten allergy. I had no reaction though, so I trust the cleanliness of the gluten free items. I'll certainly be back, and I'm hopeful that my future visits are just as favorable! p.s, They don't skimp on ingredients/add-ins, which I appreciated immensely. So many things to look forward to when going to order a poke bowl. All the toppings right in front of you to choose. If you really have a hard time deciding, they have the best combos already picked out for you. Or if you're like me and REALLY can't decide, I just add everything I can into it...and it still tastes great! Oh man, where do I start. Let me give a little background of my food life. I LOVE BUFFETS. I grew up going to Buffets once a week with my parents. It isn't a surprise I hit the 225# plus mark by the end of the high school. I have since cut Buffets down to a special occasion make myself feel like i shouldn't walk type of event. That being said, this place is not a buffet. This place is my heaven. I love sushi. I was introduced to sushi when I was 8 years old and my parents took me to Seki in Lexington. I asked to go to McDonald's for "real food" before the meal was over. Over the years, I learned to love the food and the art. It was a tragedy when Mr. Seki and his wife passed on. Since then, there hasn't been that "WOW" factor for me in the realm of sushi. This place has done it for me. It is the Qdoba, the Moe's, the Chipotle of sushi. The concept is perfect. The food is perfect. The prices are perfect. The only thing not perfect about this place is I have to drive to it and it isn't in my basement. I always go for the sushi rice base. The rice is just what you want from sushi, sticky, warm, yummm... Then, just build to your preference. The fish is always fresh. The veggies are always fresh. The sauces are always flavorful. The staff is super helpful with any questions or recommendations. That first bite is just....yes. I can't even count how many times I sit down for sushi with a few rolls in front of me and think "it is completely rude, but I want to stuff 2 or 3 of these pieces in my mouth at once so I can get all these flavors together". Well, now I can do that with a spoon and not look like a slob. I can't stop raving about this place. It is awesome and has become a lunch staple for me and the work crew. Love the idea - it's a pretty unique restaurant here, though Vinaigrette & CoreLife are making inroads - and the food has been pretty solid, but a warning about GrubHub/DoorDash pickup orders... if they're busy and you go to pick up an order, they may have you wait while they take care of the line of folks ordering in person. A suggestion for folks ordering pickup - when you arrive, if you don't see your pickup order bagged and ready, you may want to wait in line as if you're placing an order, then when you get to the counter, just tell them that you're picking up an order, and then just have them make it in front of you. When we arrived, we were told that they had started but not finished our online order because they had gotten busy, and were asked to wait off to the side. After 20 minutes, watching our half-made bowls sitting on the shelf, and watching people come in, order live, and get served and then leave, we ended up getting in line with everyone else, so when our turn came to order at the counter, we pointed to our half-made bowls and asked them to please just finish them. I think the staff is young and turns over frequently, and the management hasn't handled the business' growth very well. I think they understood what was happening, but they didn't do anything to apologize or try to rectify the situation. Even the others in line with us were more empathetic than the owner was - and the poor staff just looked like they couldn't do anything. We're from Hawaii so we weren't sure what to expect. However we were pretty impressed! We ordered the Hawaiian Classic and Spicy Tuna Poké bowls on steamed rice - and were surprised at the quality and flavor that reminded us of home! There was a great selection of ingredients to choose from.. to satisfy every palate..even if you're a vegetarian. The staff was really nice and took time to explain the menu items to newbies. The place is also clean, with modern decor. They even had a rack of poke books to peruse, in case folks want to make their own poke at home. I had the spicy bowl...sorry, I can't remember the exact name. It was delicious! I love the way their jalapeño peppers or sliced superthin. The girl at the counter said it was the most popular of their bowls. We got our bowls to go and took them over to Country Boy Brewery which is right around the corner. The next time I go, I think I will get the bowls that you can specify exactly what you want in them.
