It's been 2 years since I've cut my hair and my ends were very damaged from not caring for my hair properly. I needed to find a new stylist and Tarita's page was the first one that popped up! I saw some of her work and definitely liked what I saw! I accidentally booked incorrectly online, so she called me and fixed it for me and still got me in her chair in less than 24 hours!! I got a wash, condition, blow dry, press, cut, and style, and let me tell you, I haven't had hair this soft in ages!! She showed me how much hair she could cut off while also retaining length, but I told her to go even shorter lol! She absolutely delivered She was so personable, and soft spoken, and was able to hold great conversation without anything feeling phony or forced! I've gotten so used to doing 1-on-1 appointments with other stylists, but there were 3 other ladies in there with me, and they all contributed to the great conversations! I don't put heat on my hair often, but I definitely want to return for some natural, heat-free styles!! Thank you, Tarita, for a great experience!! read more

She did a good job with my hair but her attitude is nasty. One minute she's nice then the next you get this nastiness from her. I wouldn't go back, i need the total package in a beautician, real talent with hair, timely service, reasonable pricing and a MATURE CONSISTENT RESPECTFUL attitude. read more

Loved that they had a front desk person who implemented contact tracing and took temperatures. Tarita did an amazing job. I was so happy with the time she took to talk through what I wanted and how to care for my new do. She is honest and willing to work with you. When I was talking about my style she wondered if she was the best suited to style my hair so she had potential recommendations and pictures for another stylist!!! I ended up not needing to see another stylist because Tarita was able to style my hair just like I didn't even know I wanted read more

I called to make an appointment she was very rude. I asked to make an appointment the stylist says nothing until next week. Well that is when I wanted the appointment. Then she says we are not a good fit. That is very accurate. Rude and unprofessional. read more

I went to Tarita for the first time today and was extremely pleased with her professionalism, customer service, her ability to listen and her knowledge of hair. Not to mention her prices are very competitive and she uses some of the finest products. It was a Sunday when I went and the salon was actually supposed to be close. I made an on line appt on her site that morning for noon. She received the notification and called me as I requested less than an hour later. Tarita listened to my sob story and made an exception. She met me at the salon an hour later. Mind you, Im a first time customer. She could have easily told me to wait until the next day. I tell this story as a testament to the kind of person she is. When I arrived, I told her what was happening with my hair. She provided a consultation and got to work. Needless to say I was very pleased by the time I left 2 1/2 hrs later after receiving the works. I could never thank Tarita enough for coming in on her day off and making a bad situation so much better. She has definitely earned a new customer!! read more

Tarita is awesome - I'm so glad that during this government shut down I am still financially able to treat myself - I count it a blessing. This was money well spent and I will be back! read more

Ms. Tarita did an amazing job on my hair. I came into town to visit and friend and needed to get my hair done so I did the smart thing and went thru yelp. Anyway, I didn't realize how much my hair was damaged until I sat in and. Tarita's chair. Unfortunately I had to cut a big chunk of my hair but she made it look so beautiful and I can actually feel and see how healthy it is. I am so glad that I found her on yelp and I would definitely recommend her read more

Found this stylist on Groupon for a cut , shampoo and full color. Tarita was professional the entire time of service. She was able to speak to me before I made an appointment on what color I was looking for an any additional charges that may take place. I appreciate her for giving me a heads up instead of telling me after services were complete. She had a full house and was able to get me in and out in about 4 hours. I was very happy with my hair and I was scared to cut out the damaged areas but she took her time and explained to me the reasons to do so. Im sure I will be back to have my hair trimmed and curled in the future. I can trust very few people with that and she knows how to take care of natural hair. Thank you Tarita! read more

I am extremely picky about letting anyone new cut my hair and would drive six hours back to my home town to get it done sometimes. Tarita had a few good reviews and a great Yelp deal, so I thought I'd give her a try. She did not disappoint! She's really nice and personable. I got a cut, color, and style. Because my hair was very long, she let me know up front that there would be an additional charge of she needed to use another tube of color, so that I wasn't surprised. She cut and curled my hair into a style that looks great and will be easy for me to maintain. She even gave me a few pointers for keeping it up. I highly recommend Tarita if you're looking for a new stylist. read more

I love Tarita have been going to her to get my hair done for 3 months now always professional and courteous to her clients! Not to mention she does a outstanding job at cutting and styling I would recommend her services to anyone looking to get there hair done read more

I used to HATE getting my hair done. It was painful, it was long and it never lasted. But then I went to Tarita and she not only managed to tame my hair but she also teaches me how to maintain my hair. She's friendly, personal and an amazing stylist. Coming to the salon is like spending time with family. read more

I decided to spoil myself. I've been wanting to get a silk press for awhile. So I looked up salons near me and saw Tarita's profile on here and decided to call her for price which was reasonable and I made an appointment for the next day. She was super nice over the phone also and very professional. When I arrived to her shop, she was finishing up with another client whose hair came out really cute. Tarita evaluated my hair, suggested a deep conditioning and a trim, which actually needed to be cut but she kept as much of my length as possible. When she finished I absolutley loved my hair and I made my daughter an appointment for the same treatment later in the week. I will most definitely be coming back for her to help me maintain my natural hair. read more

I found this salon listed on Groupon. There was a great deal listed and I thought I'd try it out. The Groupon included a full color, haircut, shampoo/condition, blow dry and style. Tarita was very nice and asked plenty of questions to ensure she understood what I wanted. She did a great job! I love my hair and have already had several compliments! I overlooked her site and found that I can actually afford her services sans Groupon. I'll definitely be back! Thanks Tarita! :) read more

Let me just say...she is the G.O.A.T!!! This is my second time going there, so i will combine my experience into one review. I was transitioning from relaxed hair to natural hair for about a good 7-8 months. I've had braids, cut them out because i lost a braid because the lady before did them too tight. Went to a Dominican salon in glen burnie (sashaelvis) and recieved a relaxer.....shit didnt last 3 weeks. I was desperate to find someone who could take me in on a sunday. Being as a new client, i didnt know where to turn and i actually found Tarita on google/yelp. I went on her website and saw that she had an opening and booked nyself for a 1230. She accepted my appointment and actually moved me up to 11 because relaxers take time.( I definitely appreciated that!) I drove all the way from glen burnie to laurel to get my hair done. She took me back and thats where the process began. She asked about my hair , and saw the damage that had been done before previously. I tried natural but the natural life isnt for me and she even stated its not for everyone sobthat made me feel better ,because i felt as if i was a failure with trying to keep up natural hair. My hair was a coiled mess in the back, but she took her time. We talked while she separated my hair. I asked her about hair typing and what i could do to get my hair nice and long again. I thought i had thick unruly hair but she told me my hair was fine, and i now see that. I just have alot of hair! She never left me once ,and always kept an eye on me as the relaxer was processing. Another client came in and she started on them and came to me as soon as I told her i was ready to be washed. While she washed the relaxer out and all she took her time and didnt make me feel rushed. I was sat under the dryer after all the relaxer was washed out. I was amazed after my dryer cut off she was right there! That never happened before with any other salon! She showed me where my hair was damaged and we trimmed off the dead ends. She left me with length(thank you!) and told me that i need to get my hair trimmed every 6-8 weeks to help with breakage and split ends. We agreed to not do a relaxer every 6 weeks but every 8 to 9 weeks; That way my hair isnt over processed. My hair looks better than ever! I have Tarita to thank for that! I went back Saturday and got my hair washed, styled and even after sweating at work all week due to the humidity , my hair still looks good! My hair is in a healthier state and i have found a stylist to call home! I no longer have to chair hop, because i have been jaded and burnt in the past. Tarita is a beautiful soul, and she has real talent! I plan on taking my mom to her once she is up to it. She takes pride in her work and wont let you leave dissatisfied! I am a custimer for life! Thank you!!! read more

I was traveling through the area on my way to a formal event and needed a hairdresser. I called and got in with Tarita the same day with no problem (thanks to a cancellation). Tarita is very skilled and knowledgeable. She told me how to care for my hair to get it to the length I want, and she performed well with excellent results. My silk press came out the best I have had in a long time. If you need a good stylist, I highly recommend her! If I lived in the area, I would go back to her regularly. read more

First I would like to say I found Tarita by pure accident but truly blessed to have found this stylist. Everything was great. I have short hair and I was a little skeptical but when the finished hair style was completely I was simply amazed. The salon was not hard to find and parking was great. I made my appointment in 2 weeks I will defiantly become a regular. read more

Tarita is amazing. I purchased a Groupon and started seeing her last May. Before meeting Tarita, I spent a year looking for a stylist who is talented, caring, and genuinely passionate about helping their clients achieve and maintain healthy hair. I truly believe I've found that with Tarita and I won't give anyone else my business. She truly cares about the state of her clients' hair and will only provide and recommend services that produce healthy hair. Not to mention she's also very knowledgeable, friendly, and patient! Give her a try, you won't regret it! read more

I usually never write reviews as I get over every experience (mediocre or not) easily but this individual here requires a review. Very disappointed with my appointment and experience with this stylist. I completed my new customer booking 1 week prior to my appointment. Fast forward the day of my appointment, she calls to say she was away on vacation and just returning, don't usually have appointments scheduled on Wednesdays (yet her online registrations allowed me to do so) and if I can come in earlier. She then goes on to explain how technically my appointment was never confirmed by her because new customers requires a two step process (confirmation needed) as if it was obvious on her page. Confused by all of it but desperate (as I wrote in my comment section while booking appointment that I would be taking my engagement pics/followed by party next day). Completely my error to trust online reviews and groupon to book someone new for such an important event in my life. LESSON LEARNED. We finally get pass the confusion from online booking and I agree that I will leave work early to come and get my hair done. I arrive and two customers are there getting their hair done. I literally waited until my original appointment time before I was even started. Not sure why she said she doesn't work on Wednesdays and come in early if there were customers there. Moving on, I asked her to simply recreate the same style I came in with, similar to style Monica the singer wears with two tracks in front for extra body/bounce. She literally spazzed out when she realized there were two tracks in front for the bang---stating rebonding tracks with glue is unhealthy and sewing it in will take too long. Excuse me? Fine, no glue but two tracks for a bang is too long....ladies a bang we're talking, a bang. I now get extremely frustrated as her tone was just too unprofessional and I reiterated how important this look was to simply take my engagement photos the next day. She refused to do the bangs, suggested I go next door at beauty to buy "clip in" bangs to give me the look I wanted to create. Late afternoon, I had no clue what to do and silly me let her continue to wash and "style" my hair. Needless to say left there worst than when I came in. Completely unprofessional from START to FINISH. From "not confirming" my appointment to the day of when it was "requested" a week prior since she claimed I was never booked ...to asking me to come in earlier but have me wait until the time I was originally book for....then to claim that touching up the same look I came in with is too time consuming all while knowing I had an huge event the next day was just simply awful. I've never in my years experience received such poor service. To top it off, a male friend (clearly not customer) comes in to the salon, doesn't speak, and sits down waiting for her to finish me up. Disaster....thank goodness I found a new hairdresser (referred by coworker) as I drove off in tears. This lady heard my plea over the phone and told me to come next day. She saw me the morning before my shoot, sat me in her chair, LISTENED, and styled my hair like her life depending on it. I pray she just had a bad day and hope no one will ever experience the absolute horror I lived. read more

EXCELLENT, she was professional and timely. My daughter and I went to her for the first time and she didn't have us waiting for hours. She was on time for our appointments. I met Tarita for the first time yesterday. She is a nice person and as far as my hair goes, she did a great job. It was softer than ever by the time I left. I enjoyed her and I will return! Thanks a bunch! read more

Tarita is the stylist who made my hair smooth and shiny black; she even curled my hair which made my hair fuller and softer. She is located in a building where many salons are competing for customers to be regular, but if you know your way in the maze of roomful of small businesses, maybe, you can find your way to ask Tarita to do your hairstyle. read more

It is so difficult finding a stylist who can cut naturally curly hair. When I moved to the DMV I would only get my hair cut when I traveled back home. I decided to take a chance with Tarita and I am so happy that I did. She did a wonderful job! I was so pleased that I have since returned for other services. Ladies, we all know how hard it is to get in and out of a salon quickly. On both visits I felt my time was greatly respected. Tarita is professional, personable and is an excellent stylist. I highly recommend her. read more

Like another yelper I stumbled upon Tarita based on Groupon deal (shampoo, blow dry and cut), which I am so so so soooo happy I did! She saved me hair from a previous stylist who clearly didn't know what she was doing. Tarita discussed hair care for my hair specifically, which in my opinion is a lost quality with stylists these days. Overall I am very pleased with the services I received today and look forward to my next appointment. read more

I have tender scalp, and a coarse/ thick hair that goes with it , so I relaxed my hair to be able to deal with it without pain. I don't know what happened, this passed year, my hair was a nightmare, so dry, unstoppable split ends, and breaking like crazy no matter what I do, I changed my hair products so many time trying to figure it out, nothing works. After a 4 months break under weave, wig, braids, I went to Tarita's salon, one session of relaxer, and natural treatment, my hair is alive again, soft, so beautiful, full and light . Thk u Tarita . read more
