I've…read morebeen impressed by the size and cleanliness of the training area, the professionalism and friendliness of the coaches, and the passion and energy of the jiu jitsu community! It is remarkable watching my son grow in discipline, improve his listening and body control, exhibit respect for others, and be excited about seeing his friends 3x/week to learn more jiu jitsu! My son is home-schooled, and Silva Jiu Jitsu provides an environment that he can socialize with kids his same age and learn new skills in a cooperative manner, in the spirit of competition. I'm excited for his first invitational where he will be challenged to demonstrate what he's learned these past few months, especially losing and winning matches with grace and humility. I'm strongly considering signing up myself, having no MMA background whatsoever, thanks to the inspiration provided by Silva Jiu Jitsu!

The instructors lead with professionalism, patience, knowledge, and a clear commitment to the values that make martial arts so important- respect, discipline, and perseverance. What stands out most is the culture on the mats. The environment is structured, positive, and encouraging for the kids, while still maintaining high standard of training and overall SAFETY. Our girls enjoy coming here and are noticeably growing in both skills and confidence. We are very grateful to have found a place that not only focuses on techniques, but also on building character.

Extremely Disappointed - Felt Neglected and Discriminated I…read moredon't usually leave reviews for a Jiu Jitsu establishment, but I feel compelled to share our experience with Infinity Jiu Jitsu. My son, who has been diagnosed with ASD, was scheduled for his second trial class. We showed up early and waited patiently--for over 35 minutes past our appt time. There was no front desk staff to check him in, and the coach told us to wait for the check in person and proceed to completely ignored us. He clearly started the 4 PM class we were scheduled the trial for. Shouldn't there be a list of students prior to starting the class for the coach to see? It felt like we were invisible just because we weren't paying members yet. This was supposed to be a welcoming environment, but instead, we were left feeling neglected, disappointed, and discriminated against. On top of that, the facility itself was cramped and located next to a foul-smelling dumpster--not the kind of place I'd want my child to spend time in. I don't know how this place had operated before with all previous year 5 star reviews, but as of today, they have clearly lost their touch and a potential enrollment. I'm so glad we didn't sign up. No child--especially one with special needs--should be made to feel this unseen. If you're looking for a place that respects and supports every student, I strongly urge you to look elsewhere.

The prices are very reasonable and if you pay for the whole year at once it's actually very cheap per class. Other places are more expensive. The coaches here make BJJ fun for the kids by playing fun games after the practices. I wish I could take the kids classes!

The remarkable growth in his confidence and focus is a testament to the exceptional instruction he receives. The instructors embody the perfect blend of patience and firm guidance, instilling values that extend far beyond the dojo - respect, self-control, and personal growth that empowers him for life. The 'Ohana' motto is more than just a phrase - it's a way of life in this nurturing environment, where students and parents alike feel welcomed and supported. To parents seeking a haven for their child's growth, we wholeheartedly recommend this extraordinary dojo. We're grateful to have found it on our journey. Instructor Alex shines in his ability to channel high-energy students into focused learning, striking the perfect balance between instruction and enjoyment while showing genuine investment in each individual's progress. His passion resonates deeply in every class, a quality that's both rare and truly commendable. We can't recommend this studio enough to parents in the Lakeside and Santee areas looking for a place that will uplift and inspire their child, but also learn to protect themselves. It's been great for all of us. My 8-year-old has really been enjoying the dojo and the classes have not only been great for teaching him self-defense, but he has also learned humility and benefitted from the structure and discipline. His behavior is already noticeably better. As a 40-year-old fat guy I'm not looking to win a world title or get involved in any kind of "Hard Core" battle training, but really enjoying the training with Professor Ricky. It's a great work out with a great group of people. The coaches are very knowledgeable and good at working with you at your level. Everybody is there to support each other to train and get better. It certainly can be very intimidating at first, but after you get a chance to meet everybody you soon realize that nobody is there to flex an ego or try and crush anybody. I recommend this place for the entire family. It's a lovely little community to become a party of.

His teaching style focuses on a detailed approach exploring options as a roll flows. I have been able to compete several times successfully, and have greatly enjoyed learning and growing in the art. My son has also been training in kids classes with The Way MMA since he was 4 years old. He is nearly 11 now and has a fantastic foundation and familiarity with the sport that will be paramount to his growth as he enters his teens. Training has been in both gI and no-gi.
