Ordered one week and cancelled. Beef was so tough couldn't cut let alone chew. Not at all impressed

I really wanted to LOVE Trifecta but too many issues to jump on board. They entice you with a discount on your first order then before you have time to cancel, the second order is on it's way. The meals are redundant and don't have a long refrigerator life. The original material stated meals would keep 10 days in refrigerator, 6 months in freezer. This has been revised. I suspect others complained the meals were not fresh after about 5 days. Meals turn to mush after being frozen and don't heat well in the microwave. Meals were often high in carbs and calories which defeated the purpose. Customer service is very hard to get through to. I was on hold for over half hour a few times. Email was more responsive. Representatives are young and lack customer service. I'm sorry, this is my first review ever on YELP but felt necessary to share with others. Meals are overpriced an not a value. I was really hoping I had found the ticket as presented in marketing material. read more

The food was terrible and the predatory practices of the business are questionable. They make it incredibly incovenient to cancel your subscription - You need to call them 7 days in advance before the next delivery is shipped out. I just received my order yesterday and the next week was already renewed and now I stuck with all this food that I don't plan on eating because it tastes horrible. On the better business bureau it has one star so I guess I should've known that this company is a SCAM and I recommend to AVOID dealing with them at all costs. Instead of trying to give the customers a valued service, they are trying to sneak charges past them and delivering poorly tasting food. Save your money and your energy and try another food delivery service. Very disappointed over all! read more

I decided to try Fresh n Lean this week in addition to the Trifecta that I have been getting for about one year. They must be the same company trying to sell itself as two different entities because all seven meals in each of the boxes were identical in every way. The same meals, the same ingredients, the same nutrition information. Only the labels were different. Packaging was also identical except for the color and labeling on the boxes. I am not impressed! I took pictures of them side by side but doesn't look like I can post them here. read more

I've been using trifecta since the beginning of February. Have had the vegeterian meals and was not sure what to expect. I wanted to save some time in between work, life, and training while still having a delicious meal. I know how to cook, so regular boxed meals with cooking did not work for me, I needed something nutritious yet ready. Trifecta is awesome, they arrive timely and the meal are original, varied and have all the Macro-nutrients you need. I've definitely built my list of favorites and have developed little mods like adding avocado, maybe a toast, sometimes adding some spice - but the flavor is there. While I love almost everything about the meal, the price, the ease of spiking weeks or getting credits for recommending friends, the 2 things I'm not a big fan are the plastic coverings, while the tray is recyclable as well as every other part of the box, the plastic that covers the tray with the food is a pain...being able to peal it or make something more accessible it would be great. Last, the Styrofoam on the inside to keep insulation, again, I understand the need just not great for the environment and to dispose. All else is great, great for athletes, portions are OK - took me a bit to adjust to smaller meals but in I love it, just looking for better packaging. read more

Food was mediocre but more disappointed with the flexibility of meals / client service component. Won't be ordering again.

Highly Disappointed! My initial order was around $400. When I received the food the chicken was spongy and not edible. I called immediately to request a refund on the chicken dish but continued to eat some of the other meals. I have ordered at least 4 other home delivery services in the past and this was, by far, the most difficult to stomach. BUT THEN IT GOT WORSE! I had pushed back a second order because it took me over 3 weeks to eat 1 week of food. I called two days before the next delivery was to be sent out and asked them to cancel as I had still not finished the food and honestly didn't want any more. They told me that even though it hadn't shipped, it was too late and I would be charged. I asked them to please NOT send it, as it was all going to go to waste since I had nowhere to store or freeze it. They said I should look into giving it to a friend! Seriously, $400 of food and their response was to give it to a friend? I asked them if they could issue me at least a partial credit if I delivered it to a food bank and they said no. Ultimately, they refunded the initial order but I still had to pay in full for the second order. There are some good food delivery services out there. This is not one of them! read more

I'm not sure how to begin to describe what turned out to be the sampler meal from Hell. A few of my coworkers had gotten a free gift card to test try these healthy organic meals that essentially end up being a form of meals on wheels..and in deed they were...a fucking roller coaster if I may be honest... They spoke of their similar experience after trying these various meals that had them in agonizing pain, though I thought to myself, "Hey I'm Latino, and we're built tough"... Long story short after being forewarned of the disaster I was getting myself into, I decided I would give these meals a chance.. Not 5 mins past after taking my first couple of bites I felt a pain in my stomach, as if I was getting contractions (and I am a grown ass man). My stomach was seriously pissed at me, I had to run to a secluded area where I could release the demons building inside of me.. I don't know how but in the time it took me to eat the portion I had, I must have build enough force in my stomach to produce a smell like none other.. It honestly made roadkill skunks smell like a bouquet of fresh cut roses. The meal went right through me, in as a solid out as a liquid..I'm not sure where I've heard this expression but "it felt as if I was squeezing the entire Niagara Falls through a straw" literally lost my will to live during the agonizing toilet session I took... I mean my stomach could probably handle a mcchicken that's been sitting out for a week better than this meal, I would've probably saved my self the feeling and stench of death, honestly all I can say is "BEST OF LUCK", you all will need it!! read more

Just tried the beef patties. Excellent. I wrapped them up in nahn bread with tomatoes, lettuce, red onion and tzatziki sauce. Yum!

I don't look like a folks in the pictures yet... But with this meal plan and this delicious food I hope to be there soon. I know that I need high protein low carb... I've done it before... however, now that I'm past the big 40 I just don't feel as motivated to cook and prepare meals like I should. This has been the perfect solution and I'm so happy to have found Trifecta read more

It's fair. Unlike some of the other meals I have sampled it is pretty beat up when it is cooked, not a big deal, but presentation is something, especially when some of the other brands look a lot better. Could not detect flavors on the label for some of the sauces. I gave it a two week try but didn't feel that the flavors were nearly as good as others. However it is clearly healthy and clearly easy to see what you are eating. And finally... sometimes I felt it was short of meeting my hunger needs. Don't get me wrong, didn't feel as if it was a ripoff, but it's clearly not the best for the flavors, quantity or the cost. read more

I signed up for my Trifecta meals one week ago. My meals were supposed to arrive Friday or Saturday. They never arrived at all. Really poor service. read more

This isn't your average food delivery service. Trifecta is fresh food that is full of flavor. I started working out a few months ago and wanted to start eating right along with the workouts and was referred to Trifecta. From my first delivery, I was extremely impressed by the quality of the food. The chicken is moist, the steak is full of flavor, the fish is light and fresh. The burger patty is flavorful and easy to reheat via grill or cut up and sautéed and put in a salad, The shredded chicken is so moist, like it just came off a roasted chicken, The zucchini and sweet potatoes are full of flavor and taste just like you made it that day. These are a must for me. I like the ala cart so I can mix and match my food prep the way I want it, and Trifecta helps me do just that. It's Fresh food not only for me for my Nutrition program, but my whole family can eat it along with me. I have reheated Trifecta food in the oven, on the grill, stir fried it, sautéed it, and yes it can be microwaved; and no matter how I cook it, it tastes fresh, moist with lots of flavor. I need to fuel my body with the best quality food because It is a staple to my life long eating changes and Trifecta food does just that. Here's a tip: if you order the larger quantities of a food item, it comes in one larger container. So the 32oz food item would all be in one container. Also, have your order finalized on Thursday night a week before your food delivery in order to make changes for that next Friday's delivery. read more

I have read a lot of reviews on food service, and was very skeptical about trying a food delivery service. But Trifecta has really changed my mind and blown me away. I love all of their meals, and even will now eat things that I did not like before, because they prepare them very well, and the flavors are great together. I love knowing that I am getting a well-balanced, organic, clean meal with no prep work required on my end! I would give it more than five stars if possible! read more

The food was terrible and expensive. I had to throw out almost $200 worth. Do not recommend.

Initially I thought this would be a great service - I mean organic, grass fed prepared meals delivered right to my door. Unfortunately a few of the meals were inedible - so bad even my cats would not eat them. I called and was told that they would refund the 2 dinners in question. Next time I logged in I saw that I had a $42 credit on my account. The rest of the meals I've tried (28 in total) yes, were very easy - heat and eat - but basically tasteless and I am not convinced that the "meats" are actually the high standard they report since most is shredded or in a tasteless meatball. So I called to cancel my account and they advised that they do NOT return credits due to their customer, even upon specific request by the customer. Legally monies due to a customer must always be returned when requested. So, chose wisely friends, which companies you choose to do business with. read more

I was using trifecta for about 6 months. It's good, but can get pretty repetitive. Their good meals are the chili and chicken fajitas, but a lot of the others really don't taste very good despite being healthy. The ground beef meals are really bland. Nevertheless, if you're a busy professional and are looking for good organic meal delivery, this is pretty good. read more

I'm sorry that I have to rate Trifecta with a two. They have been a huge part of my nutrition program through the years. If I was rating them in the past, for their paleo meals, I would give them a 4. Their Paleo meals were pretty good, great value for the money, good taste, decent macros. The reason why this review is a 2 is for their vegan meal plan. For vegan eating, they are disastrous. Nasty meals. Inedible. Mostly weird sloshy vegetable combos, with a layer of beans underneath, and some of the meals have beyond meat mixed up in it in an unappetizing way. One of the meals I opened and it was so disgusting it made me throw up in my mouth a little bit. Their meal plan for the vegan plan is $115.00 for 10 meals. Well, you get what you pay for. The meals were so disgusting, I threw out 7 out of 10 of them. My husband made a face like he was smelling rotten garbage when I opened one of the meals, which is the one I threw out. Just terrible. If you are going to eat Trifecta, opt for the paleo plan. I wish I'd had the presence of mind to take pictures of these meals before pitching them. read more

I have a particular organic diet and they were able to meet it. Though it is a bit expensive, the food is delicious and they take a lot of work out of meal planning. And I can do add ons like meat / fish if I just need something more specific. Great customer service too. read more

The reason people lean towards meal prep plans often are for people counting macros and calories who are either tired of wasting days of their week doing it or because they find themselves running out of ideas for making meal preps. Trifecta is not only one of the most expensive meal delivery services but they offer no options. I did trifecta for about 3 months and my meals were constantly the same. The one meal (forget what they called it) was simply chicken, rice & beans. Every week in that 3 months I would have several of those and in some cases almost half of my 14 meals per week would be just that. They started to taste all the same as well. It was like they had one season blend that they used on every meal. Unless you are super into eating bland and can stomach eating the same thing day in and day out, the benefits of the good products is not worth it. It's a sustainable program for maybe a month but it got to the point I was freezing meals, skipping weeks and reverting back to cooking things myself. I will say their customer service was top notch, they just needed a little bit more variety and a larger range of options for the consumer to really make anyone want to stay with them for an extended amount of time read more

Trifecta is legit! I order their a la carte proteins and they are great. Makes it easy to create meals by adding my own vegetables. I haven't had any issues with their product, ordering or delivery. Recommended! read more

I had high hopes for this meal service, but was very disappointed when I got my first shipment last week. I ordered the Paleo Meal plan for lunch & dinner for five days. Not only was there no variety in my meals as advertised in the menu on their website, but also all my meals had the green lunch label. Therefore, I received no dinners. You'd think at least one of the meals would contain a lean source of protein like chicken or salmon as advertised in the menu. However, all of the meals were duplicates. And none of my meals contained chicken. I received 3 ground beef, 3 processed Turkey patties, 2 shrimp meals & 2 steak kabobs. I eat red meat sparingly & there was a lot of chicken meals advertised on the Paleo menu that week, so I'm trying to figure out how I ended up with 50% of my meals being from red meat. As far as flavor, the food left much to be desired. I just ate the cilantro ground beef & now I'm really pissed. The veggies are chopped so tiny & some of them looked like pieces of peeled zucchini skin without the flesh. I feel like they ran out of food & I was just given leftover scraps. I also expected better packaging for my food to be traveling all the way from CA to TN, with just some ice packs in a box. I ordered from a meal service in NY with much better packaging. I was going to give them another chance but now I'm just done. read more

sadly this place isn't to standard for meal service, I signed up for 14 keto meals a week, i really wanted to lose the weight and the price wasn't an issue for me. first week i got my box was only 1 item - all 14 meals where the same. i got a refund from them as they know that isn't right 2nd week 6 out of the 14 items was fish. i'm allergic to fish and made sure my allergies where pointed out before ordering and on my invoice said no fish. sadly i got the items and had to trow them out as i didn't want them anywhere near me really this isn't acceptable for a company to make this many mistakes i've asked to cancel read more

I have tried a lot of these types of meals services and the only thing that Trifecta is the best at is being THE WORST at everything. The food is barely edible, the customer service is non existent, and you can't cancel the subscription through their website. Honestly you couldn't pay me to eat their lazy, greasy , overly sweet food. Any of the other competing companies are soooo much better than Trifecta. Save yourself the stomachache, the headache and the money and stay away. read more

My experience with this company has been a mixed bag. When they get the orders right and or deliver on time, the product is generally good. But, they are totally unreliable when it comes delivering on time, which for pre-cooked chilled food is paramount. On multiple occasions my delivery was late, the ice packs had melted and the food spoiled. Also on multiple occasions, my order was completely wrong. However, their customer service was good and they refunded my money whenever there was a problem. If they ever sort out their logistical problems, I wouldn't be opposed to trying them again. read more

Food is great that comes in a vacuum sealed container. All macros are labeled clearly. The app is a paid service, which is unfortunate because it would be nice to track macros by uploading the meals I purchase instead of manually loading them into the one I already purchased a lifetime membership on. For the amount of money people spend on the food, the app should come with it in my consumer opinion. Otherwise the food is great. read more

Tried this for 3 weeks. First week, they delivered the wrong items. Second week, they included items I listed as being allergic to. After 3 full weeks of meals (2x/day), I counted less than 10 unique meals - all the meals were repeated multiple times within the week, and across weeks as well. They also threw random ingredients in things, I'm guessing to meet certain macros goals - such as walnuts in Chicken & Broccoli. I appreciate them trying to meet macro parameters but if they're just going to toss in random ingredients, I can do that myself for a lot less than $15/meal. read more

My wife decided to try this meal plan after being tricked by YouTube and Instagram influencers that this was a reputable company. Please know Trifecta pays for most of the good reviews and for body builders to pose with their food. Not only is the food bland with about 50% of them being the same meal, but they charge an outrageous price for it even when it's first sent to you with the 40% discount. After that discount, we skipped the weeks ahead due to being out of town, but they sent us a package anyways. It was $528 for 35 meals (~$15/meal) which is much more expensive than any other prepared food service I've tried. When we noticed they were still trying to ship us meals despite us skipping, we called Trifecta and were told it was too late and we should contact our bank to take care of the charge. After a month long dispute due to Trifecta going back on their direction and fighting the charge, we are stuck paying $528 for meals that will likely rot in our freezer. Needless to say we have cancelled our subscription, a process they of course make convoluted, and won't be recommending them to anyone in our network. Good luck to those that still give them a shot! read more

I'm loving trifecta! I prefer a la carte only because there'd be a few meals each week with the paleo or clean eating meal plans that I just didn't like. A la carts has been great. The customer service is also phenomenal. I didn't receive a delivery (delivery service issue, not trifecta's fault) and they immediately sent me a new order. read more

As I write this review, our country is in the middle of the Coronavirus outbreak. I had to modify my account recently, during the pandemic, and Trifecta responded promptly to the request. At a time when I experienced delays in communicating with other businesses, Allison at Trifecta was very responsive. Trifecta provides a valuable/convenient service, clean food and exceptional customer service! I highly recommend Trifecta! read more

I love trifecta because I try to focus on consuming non gmo quality ingredients with absolutely no chemicals added. I also avoid soy and grains. I am also very busy while working two jobs so my "spare time" is limited. Trifecta takes all the brain work out of that for me and I also don't have to gather the items and then also prepare the meals. This helps keep my "spare time" spare. Thank you Trifecta!! read more

Zero stars. Tastes awful, made me nauseous. They advertise on their own website 100% satisfaction guaranteed, they will refund your money up to 10 meals. I ordered 10 meals, but they only refunded me 2 meals, and made me pay for another week of food that I do not want. Awful customer service and false advertising. DON'T DO IT! read more

This service delivers quality food at an affordable price! Being a grad student, it has helped me focus more on academics and provides me with the nutrition I desire! read more

The only reason I am giving Trifecta two stars is because of their customer service. Other then that, I was very disappointed. The first meal I had was a Beef Stroganoff that tasted like something my dad made he called, "slop". The second meal was a Codfish dish and the fish was so dry and tasteless I couldn't even eat it. I couldn't even tell what the vegetables were! I am afraid to eat the rest of the meals as I feel like I wasted my money! Ugh! I do not recommend this service! read more

The food is inedible. They don't respond when you contact them and don't give you any option to cancel online, so they can claim you missed the window to cancel. It's unfortunate since I love small businesses. Had they not made it so painful to just cancel I would have just moved on to a different service. Great concept. Really gross food. read more

sadly im going to write this review. We were referred to this meal delivery service and even though it is a lot more expensive, our first order that we rec 30% off was really good and my husband loved it. I only put him on the meals because he is on the KETO diet. so thankful that I didnt have to figure out what to cook him every night. he said the food was really good. 2nd week was ok, I had called and asked why the food was being delivered on Friday and if they could fix it. They said no that is the ONLY day for delivery. For 3 weeks the food and delivery was fine and on time. Friday late evening., Then, next Delivery comes LATE SATURDAY (thought the ONLY day was Friday) and we get so many salmon dishes that I select no more fish. The following week, same thing Delivery late LATE SATURDAY, AND we receive 5 of the exact same shrimp and sausage meal. Who wants to eat 5 of the exact same meal for dinner or lunch every day. no one. (I took off shellfish hoping that we would not get anymore. The 6th week we don't get our order at all and it didn't even ship till Sunday. we eventually get our order Tuesday night. That order was missing 2 meals entirely AND to top it, 5 of the same meals again.. (breakfast was always the same meal) I called, emailed and chatted and was credited of course the order that came on Tuesday. but because you cant cancel anything unless within 7 days, I again was to rec and order Friday (came Saturday) and rec 15 meals total, 5 of the exact same breakfast and 10 of the exact same lunch/dinner, Fajita Bowl with beef. IS THIS A JOKE? so for 5 days, they want me to eat the exact same meal for lunch AND dinner and then also same breakfast. the price is expensive and I would NEVER recommend them to anyone. stay away, there are many other places you can get good food cheaper and not the same food. I still cant believe. it. read more

I can't really comment on the quality of the food but I can tell you that this company seems to be suffering growing pains and has really been a disappointment! My first delivery was scheduled for Friday, May 10. I was sent an email saying that their sealing equipment broke down so my delivery would arrive on Saturday. Nothing was delivered on Saturday. I called, used the online contact message center and after being disconnected several times, sent an email. They contacted me and said "Oh, sorry, we had a lot of deliveries and couldn't get to yours. It will be prepared on Monday for Tuesday delivery. An email came to tell me that my food would come on Tuesday, but no tracking info. I called twice on Tuesday and was on hold for long periods so left a message. No call back and no delivery! It's especially inconvenient for me because I typically do my meal prep during the weekend and now have no food. So disappointed in this service! read more

If you are an athlete who doesn't have time to prepare food this service is for you. Also- if you're a regular Joe who doesn't want to bother cooking, this is for you! The food comes vacuum sealed and is always fresh. The food is mildly spiced so you have room to adapt if you don't like the taste of something. My only complaint is the packages are a little difficult to open, you need to use scissors and that becomes a hassle when you're on the go. I have recommended this to several friends and co-workers. read more

Horrible company ethics. I posted a comment on one of their Instagram posts warning someone else about the horrible service but they deleted it. I'll start from the beginning though. Ordered my first meal delivery about a month ago. Took a week to get it in which I understood. Upon arrival I got everything delivered correctly with my order of 3 vegan meals daily for 5 days. Second delivery was due a week later on a Friday but come Friday I got an email saying delayed until Saturday, Saturday came and got another email saying Tuesday. They apologized and said they would throw in a pound of free vegan protein. So I get my order that Tuesday and it's missing all my breakfasts and the pot that "free" protein in place of a whole meal. Contacted them and they said sorry again and they would refund my breakfasts. So now I'm on my third billing and food is scheduled to be in on Friday again. Thursday comes and they say my food will be late again so I decide I'm done and want to cancel. They apologize again and say that the third order will be refunded and will be delivered on Saturday. Today is Saturday and I just get my food and open it to find there are no breakfasts at all and instead there are only 10 meals and 9 of the 10 are just 3 meals repeated 3 times and look horrible. Overall they have no real concern with making things right. Their main concern is looking good on Instagram. The meals I got were vegan and I've eaten vegan for years and never had anything so bland and watery. All the meals are both under and over cooked at the same time. The grains (rice and quinoa) are undercooked and hard and the veggies are like they just threw frozen vegetables in the container and let them thaw. The sauces are always sour and just off tasting. There were more than half that I had to just get through in hopes that it would help on my weight loss. Bottom line is for a meal prep delivery to help you stay on track they are failing when you aren't getting meals on time or even the correct amounts of meals. They have strayed me from meal prep companies as I feel now I could be more dependable than having a company take my money and not give me what I'm ordering in the first place. read more
