Twice I have been sent food that went rancid two days after I got it. The food came to me brown and looked like it had been thrown in a blender. It looked like dog food. It tasted spoiled and stunk up my fridge to the point I had to air it out on day 3 not once but twice. It took WEEKS to get rid of the smell. Food is meh, nothing exciting. Pricing is outrageously expensive. The worse part is you cannot get ahold of anyone at anytime to cancel your membership. I have called/emailed and attempted to use their ridiculous chat feature to cancel and no one ever answers or replies. Really wanted to love this, but the food is just... not good. A few meals were ok, some I would call edible, and others were honestly gross. My partner said they all were like mess hall or cafeteria food and I think that adequately sums it up. Further, the same day you get your very first delivery is also the cutoff date for making any changes to your next week's delivery or cancelling your subscription, so we are now stuck with a second week of meals that we had to pay for and really don't want to eat. I've been using Trifecta for about a month now, and so far the food's been quite good! I enjoy the variety of dishes per week and the speed with which I'm able to pop it in the microwave and eat straight away. My last delivery had a snafu wherein I had only 2 meal types constituting the delivery of 14 meals -- so I had 7 of the same type of 2 meals! To Trifecta's credit, I was able to reach a representative (Kenzie) quickly through their website and arrange for a partial refund and re-shipment of some more-varied meals in the next few days. So problem solved -- and solved quickly. Two improvements which would make Trifecta ideal in my world: 1. Bar codes on the meal packaging to scan nutritional information into fitness apps such as MyFitnessPal. 2. Easier-to-open packaging after microwaving. I've figured out a way to do it, but it involves scissors and what not. Would be great to just be able to open the packaging without tools --- but the nature of the flash-freezing and sealing may render that unlikely. All in all, though, the macronutritional quality of the meals, their taste, their convenience -- and now the excellent customer service when something didn't go quite right -- has made the service worth the investment thus far. read more

Trifecta WAS great, in so many ways: the food was delicious (restaurant quality) ; the ingredients were great; I could choose many items to omit because of my dietary restrictions; the food was healthy with just the right amount of protein and vegetables. Until they changed. I don't mind that they made errors in my last two orders because I realize they are restructuring and they quickly gave me a refund. What I mind is that they have added ingredients that are NOT healthy and give me terrible stomach problems. (I will spare you the details.) So, I can't eat their food anymore. One star- it's a fabulous idea! Having organic precooked food delivered is great and the breakfast frittata which is pretty good. I wanted to love this. Unfortunately they PUT CURRY IN ALMOST EVERYTHING and it's so gross. I ordered the paleo plan and husband ordered clean plan for a week. 7 of the meals were ruined with the gross butt taste of curry. I want to give it 5 stars but currently was hovering over 2. The only reason I settled on 4 is because the meals are so good. But that's only when you get them. THREE WEEKS IN A ROW we have been charged but the meals haven't arrived. THREE weeks. We were refunded when we reached out to customer service, but NO ONE emails to say they aren't coming. Instead, we just received generic cheerful emails saying they are "a bit late". 5 days isn't a bit late. A week isn't a bit late. When three weeks go by and not a single order arrives, it's annoying AF. BUT, when the food does arrive, O M G, it is perfect. SO, it's one of those things... you don't want to give up. Food is okay, the amount of packaging and ice packs in extremely excessive. Simply not environmentally sustainable no matter how they want to spin it. Sure the ice pack contents are compostable, but the wrappers are still plastic. Even if they are 'recyclable', they will not be recycled even if you put them in the bin. Over 90% of plastics intended to be recycled are not, and these will certainly fall into that category. Single use plastics need to be drastically reduced, and pretending that these will be recycled is not helping and encourages the use of single use plastic. We recently received a box of 15 meals and it weighed over 35 lbs. I think the package had 4X the amount of ice packs required to keep the contents cold. Why use so many ice packs? I just weighed the ice packs, and they totaled 22 lbs. For a 35 lb box! And the shipping label says the shipping weight is 17 pounds! I don't even want to get into why the shipping weight on the box is less than half of the actual weight, but seems sketchy to me! Not to mention the styrofoam insulation for the box. The only way this service can be made sustainable is to use local pick up points. Shipping 35 pound boxes will not cut it. The food is okay, just okay. Not bad, not great. Not much in the way of flavor. The meals do come vacuum packed and are fresh and easy to heat up, but nothing stellar. Overall not a product or service I'm happy with and trying to encourage my partner to drop it. She was excited to try and it's convenient for her, but she's losing sleep over how environmentally unfriendly the service is. I think she's finally ready to give it up :) Response to feedback from company: Thanks for the feedback, however I don't think you addressed my concerns. The plastic ice pack packaging may be quote-unquote recyclable but they will not be recycled. Even if I put them in the blue bin they will end up in the landfill, that is a fact. Is there a way to get boxes shipped with much less ice, about 25% of what you're currently using? There were so many ice packs in the box that they are still partially frozen and the box is cold over 3 days later. Regarding the styrofoam, the company should not have launched until another solution was settled upon. It's shameful to use styrofoam in this day and age. ORIGINAL : 1st order arrived 6 days late; at least it got here 1 day after shipping and food was cold and ice intact. 2nd order arrived 5 days late and ice was completely melted and food was NOT cold. I tracked the shipping to find out if left their warehouse on Friday morning and got delivered to me Tuesday late afternoon. Lunch and dinners were pretty tasty and filled me up, definitely quality ingredients. Breakfasts were GROSS The eggs tore up my stomach and a one week supply consisted of 4 of one kind (eggs and potatoes) and 3 of the same with added sausage (who eats the same thing every morning- eggs and potatoes) especially for these prices???? I actually am going to change my review based on the poor customer service I received when I was ending my membership. One, they charged me on a holiday (Saturday) and claimed it was past a "cut off date" and they "couldn't" stop my and did not even give me my refund. One, you don't charge people on a holiday, after the "cut off date" and make up nonsense so that you don't have to give them their refund. This is unacceptable and I got a careless customer representative on the phone and she was so inconsiderate. They can't even be honest with you. You don't do that to customers. All other companies give you your refund immediately, cancel your membership, and will actually try to keep you on and actually thank you for your business. That's standard practice. They do have good food and helpful nutrition articles but they really need to improve their customer service and their business practices. I was pleasantly surprised with this one. I have been trying various meal prep services over the last few weeks and most have been pretty disappointing. I ordered the "clean" plan which isn't as calorie restricted as the others. The meals were actually very filling and well portioned. Most of the time you see this awesome picture, then when it arrives you can tell the portions are much smaller. I don't like the bait and switch, and I don't feel I got that from Trifecta. Only downside is that I didn't get to pick what I wanted (or maybe I just didn't see where to do that on the site.). Didn't really matter as I could tell each meal was what I was looking for in calories and macros. What made this service better than most is that you get a free call with a nutritionist. Edit 7/21/20: I have added photos to show the incorrect meals that I received that are 1 LB each with calorie/label info included so you can see there's no way the calorie counts on labels are accurate, as well as screen shots of the multiple voice mails I received.  They have provided "partial refunds" but unwilling to give full without multiple phone calls, when it's documented that they made MULTIPLE errors, that the calorie count is inaccurate, and the food caused stomach issues for me and my mom (Translation: NOT clean food, ingredients in meals that are not listed on the labels.) Your policy of not providing refunds unless you "clarify" over the phone and multiple emails are required when you guys have made MULTIPLE MISTAKES, is utter BS. Transparent companies are willing to put it in writing. Having to call by phone to cancel over the phone is BS, period. It's not 1995, millenials hate phones - you should be able to cancel on your website, like your competitors do. ________________________________________________ Lets see....where to start: 1. I ordered Keto exclusively and got TWO incorrect weeks....   A Paleo week and a "clean week" which has meals that have a whopping 46 grams of carbs. I got a meal with no label on it at all I GAINED 2 lbs while eating these meals.... I got two shipments in one week so I ended up with more food than I can eat I feel they are blatantly LYING about their calorie counts, because you don't get meals under 500 calories when they weigh well over 1 lb per meal. I've lost weight on diets before that aren't low carb, but the fact that I've GAINED weight on these meals tells me that they're blatantly lying about the calorie content, and not weighing the portions of meat at all. After a phone call and MULTIPLE emails saying they need to refund my money - they've only refunded 150 bucks out of the over 400 bucks of food I purchased. Do not trust this company - they have a lot of work to do. To top all this off - online my previous shipments show NO RECORD of the meals I previously ordered, so there's literally no way to verify their huge mistakes. To cancel, you also can't cancel online or by email, you have to call by phone, and someone will call you at an ungodly hour and try to upsell you and keep you on the phone as long as possible to ask why you cancel. Seriously guys, I wanted to believe in you, and gave you ample chance, but you can do better. Note: I've odered meal delivery from multiple companies - Thistle, Eat the 80, Territory. I gave Trifecta a thorough try by enrolling in the clean meal plan for a few weeks. I was appalled at the quality of food that you get for the very expensive price. I can't tell you how many times I got the same variations of meals with potatoes randomly mixed in. I don't understand the obsession with potatoes but they were always mushy and gross. The chicken was also always dry and disgusting. I could never recommend this service. Save your money and time. This is essentially healthy cafeteria food that charges gourmet prices per meal. You will not look forward to eating these meals. Oh also, they are super shady (as noted in other reviews). It's easy to sign up but a hassle to cancel, their online chat is useless on the website. If you can sign up online why can't you cancel online? Oh because you want your customers to jump through hoops or forget to cancel to sneak in an extra delivery of the cafeteria food on your way out. read more

Was initially really excited to try Trifecta because of the reviews. Ordered delivery to FL. They only deliver on Fridays. They proceeded to get my order wrong, delivered meals I specifically said not to include due to dietary restrictions. The remaining food tasted good--right up to the point I got food poisoning for--the entire weekend. When trying to message them over the weekend, I received no response. When I finally was able to get response on Monday, they apologized and offered a refund for the few meals they messed up. They otherwise had no response to my food poisoning. The food poisoning is one thing, but the lack of customer service was the main issue. I do not recommend Trifecta, as there are plenty of alternative options on the market. read more
