I would definitely use Trico Movers again. I moved from Chicago to LA. The thought of shipping your car across the country is already very unsettling, let alone dealing with a barrage of calls you get from tons of moving companies. (they all seem dicey, btw). I personally sought out Trico based on all the positive reviews. I literally almost put money down to ship my car with another carrier, and got a bad vibe about the place i was using and found Trico. I worked with Tim who was extremely helpful. He helped answer and reassure most of my fears about the entire process. There was no pressure calling, or feeling like a MUST put money down to secure my spot on a truck. He took his time with me, and didn't hound me for a sale. When the driver who's name was Dima arrived, he was very thorough and careful when putting my car on the truck. (Yes! i watch the entire process...i was very nervous about all this haha.) The driver who picked up my vehicle, was the same guy who dropped it off at it's destination. Which is pretty awesome, since I was told by sources some companies offload, and reload your car on several times on several trucks before it reaches it's destination. Anyway. Hope this helps. Trico provides a very satisfying service that's both friendly and accommodating. Their prices are reasonable and their support staff is well-coordinated. There is a balance to manage between care/caution and speed/efficiency while moving, wherein Trico leans more toward the latter. The insurance only covered a small fraction of the actual expenses from the damage. I would recommend Trico to anyone who isn't moving anything especially expensive. They provide a good quality service, esp when compared to competitors. read more

Please read as this may help you in your decision making and understanding of how this process works. I contacted Trico to have a car shipped from Minnesota to Connecticut. The process was very easy, reasonably priced and pretty effortless. I had a wonderful experience, my vehicle was picked up when they said it would be and it arrived 30 HOURS LATER!!! Now, please understand that Trico is mainly a middle man and my personal experience should go to the credit of the contractors who Trico hired to pickup and deliver my car. That is why you will see reviews all over the board. It is not necessarily Trico fault there is a delivery issue, it could be who the job was handed to. As long as you are aware of this, you will understand the nature of the beast. Your car will be one of many on that transport truck and they are in the business of making money, they can only do that by picking up as many cars as possibly and sometime their routes have to get adjusted because of this. I know I would have been very upset if I had to wait multiple weeks for my car as I have seen some reviews say. I was one of the lucky ones I guess. I hate moving, especially now that I have so much crap to take with me so it is basically imperative that I hire a moving company. These guys were excellent in my recent move from los Angeles to Boston. I had a bed, lots of bedroom furniture and furniture for my living room and all my kitten appliances. They guys were on time, on budget, careful with all of my possessions and did I mention wardrobe boxes?? So amazing! I didn't have to pack a single thing from inside my closet they just transferred everything right on the hanger!!! These guys are insured which put my mind at ease. They also worked well around the restrictions my hoa out on the moving time and elevator use. I found Trico through Angie's list- I made the mistake of filling out just 1 contact form online about moving from LA to Boston, and received hundreds of calls from other moving companies, all of whom had sketchy reviews. Fortunately, someone told me about Angie's list (you have to pay a membership fee to log in, but reviews are trustworthy since the site does not have ads/doesn't accept money from companies for fake reviews). The packers were fantastic- a cross country move is incredibly stressful, but they made the process so easy. None of my items were broken or damaged. Having to move from Phoenix to Boston had scared the hell out of me back at the time I started preparing for it. I decided to call Trico Long Distance mainly because of all the positive reviews I've seen online. Luke was very kind and led me through the details. I was especially delighted because he had kept checking in with updates all until I got my furniture on the other end! The movers were high profile, and they did packing of all of my books, clothes and dishes, took the bed apart in a second, wrapped everything and loaded the truck. I also got a dispatch number, so I can track my goods all the way along. The guys have put everything back together here inside my new apartment, and I tipped them all well, because did an amazing job! My rating is actually 4.5 but that is not an option. I would recommend this company for a long distance move. I moved from MA to IL. The men who packed up my house were professional, efficient, and courteous. The standard fee includes packing pictures and electronics. Everything was very well protected with packing blankets. For example, the pictures were in boxes with blankets, separated by cardboard and taped well. A number of things needed to be disassembled including an almost all glass curio cabinet with 5 separate shelves, mirrored back and a glass door. Each piece was separately packed and arrived unscathed. The men who delivered the furniture were also professional, efficient and courteous. They had everything in the house and reassembled quickly. Of course, something like this rarely happens without incidence but they were few and very minor. I am one cup and saucer short and have one chipped saucer. As always, you get what you pay for. This moving company was the more expensive (but not a lot) than the other two quotes. But, the other companies did not include packing the pictures and electronics and were going to "throw a blanket" over the furniture and would "find a way to pack the TV" and packing pictures and electronics were extra, so the price I paid would most likely have been higher than the original quote. The price includes one month of storage. If you have your things picked up and delivered within that time frame, I would give them a 5. Unfortunately, I was unable to do that. The loss of the star is because the monthly storage fee after the first month was over $800.00 and in my opinion, that is too much. read more

Unfortunately, I did not have a good experience with Trico. I hired them to transport my car from Boston to Colorado. They were very responsive in the beginning, but once the payment was made it all went downhill. -They promised door-to-door service (which before I paid I made sure to explain the narrow streets I lived on) they said it was not problem. Both for the delivery and the pick-up, I had to meet the driver at car dealerships more than a mile away from my house. Not the drivers fault, this was false advertising on Trico's part. - The car was one day delayed on the pick-up (with no communication until I called them) and 5 days late on the delivery (again I had to call and call and call until finally one person called me back to let me know how delayed the car would be). I was given two different reasons why it was late (one person told me "there was traffic" another told me the trailer broke). On the day of the planned delivery no one bothered to call me to let me know it would not be there. - After the payment was made the communication of this company was horrific. I was never never called when the plans changed, when I emailed, no one would respond. When the car was 4 days late, it was me who called everyday to get an update. VERY poor customer service. I understand traveling across country in the winter there are delays, but a simple phone call when someone is waiting on a car is basic customer service. I also had a car charger stolen out of the car during this fiasco. This left a very poor taste in my mouth. In full disclosure, the company offered me $200 for the inconveniences, but if I took the money, their contract states you are not allowed to write a negative review. I do not recommend this company- I have shipped 3 cars across the country in the past 2 years and this was the worst customer service I received. Find another company! read more

I just shipped my car from Framingham MA to San Jose CA. I had a somewhat narrow pickup window and will be on a flight the day after the scheduled 4 day window. Scott was very accommodating and even wrote "in the event that the driver missed the pickup window there will be no charge for rescheduling for cancellation" in the contract, which was very reassuring for me. The first driver that was assigned to pick up my car indeed had an emergency and was not able to pick up my car within the scheduled time... I got worried and called Scott at the very last day of my original pickup window and he pulled out some magic and arranged for another driver to pick up my car on the next day! So I was able to ship my car before I depart! The second driver Jeremy is extremely responsive and easy to communicate with. He updates me with his ETA multiple times before the pick up and delivery and gets my car to me on time. I would definitely recommend these guys and use their service again in my future moves. read more

I shipped the car from Santa Barbara, CA to Boston, MA. Overall, everything was quick and professional. The driver picked up my car on time exactly as we agreed. The only issue I had for most of the people would be an advantage ;) - the car was delivered too fast (only took 4 days) so by the time car was delivered I didn't have place in Boston yet. Unfortunately TLD Movers were not very flexible on when I need to pick up the car, and I had to pick it up exactly the day they deliver because they don't have any parking or storage in Boston. I also couldn't choose the place where to pick up the car and had to take an uber to the place specified by the driver who delivered (I guess it is due to the fact that Boston has pretty strict regulation where large trucks could get). But the car was deliver in perfect condition, not a scratch or anything. So to summarize, I would recommend TLD Movers if you plan to ship your car to different state. read more

I would give 4.5 stars. I had a full enclosure move of my car from Colorado to Massachusetts. Including my car, there were 2 cars total in the full enclosure trailer. My car arrived in 4 days. I was slightly frustrated with the communication with the driver. I had missed the driver's call, and there was no voicemail to let me know when he was coming to pick up the car. I had to call Trico's dispatcher to locate the pickup date and time. Upon arrival of my drop off location, the driver called me and said that he would arrive between 10-11 PM. He didn't arrive until the next morning at 8:00 AM. Overall, the transport service itself was good. I think the communication could have been better. read more

I had a great experience with Trico's. I worked with Jake & I am happy I chose them! I'll admit I was terrified at first because my car is my baby & read about how this industry can be tricky & hidden fees, etc. Trico's/Jake stuck out to me because I didn't feel pressured. I had reached out weeks before I needed to actually ship my car and at no point did I feel like Jake was trying to sell me on anything but rather just help me and answer all my questions. I got a guaranteed price and I liked that they accepted credit cards because a lot of others don't and I felt more protected and like I could trust them since they were willing to take cards also. My guaranteed price was reasonable and also exactly what I paid door to door from Massachusetts to Nashville. No hidden fees etc. My driver was a sweetheart and communicative all along the way. I felt completely comfortable the entire time my vehicle was in their hands & really didn't even give it a second thought as I wrapped up my move. My mother, Ann, contacted this company on my behalf to see if they would be able to do a military move for me on very short notice (within two days) from Los Angeles to Boston. They took our call on a Saturday and workers Dylan and Grace worked incredibly hard during the Father's Day holiday weekend in order to squeeze us into a completely booked schedule in less than two days notice. Dylan and Grace knew that we had a limited budget and did an amazing job getting what we needed within our budget. The moving company came on Monday and picked up all of my stuff for a one bedroom apartment in less than two hours. Their workers were very careful with my things and very thorough to make sure everything was handled with care and nothing would be missed.
