In the past, we've gone to Lowe's but the appliance repair guy who pulled the plug (pun intended) convinced us to check out this appliance retailer as they stand behind their installations, as well as offering competitive pricing. It's part of the same strip that houses Sesame Burgers and several other small retailers. We were warmly greeted and though the gentleman we were told to ask for was running late, Chip suggested that we look around and that he would answer our questions. The showroom was not large, but, the refrigerator selection appeared to be adequate. Our decision was quick in that a 33", 25 cubic foot fridge, was now considered a special order. We had no time to spare. Chip was able to schedule delivery the next day on a GE with French doors and bottom load freezer the next day. Sold! We received a delivery confirmation that evening and a text message the next morning with a delivery window. Installation was a breeze. Plugs employs their own installers. By noon the next day, I was happily on my way, re-stocking my new fridge and freezer. I was always a big-box shopper but now I'm sold on 'the little guy.' You will be, too. Make Plugs your first stop when shopping for a new home appliance.

I bought a refrigerator from them September '20. Chuck Smith was my salesman. They were nice to…read moredeal with, had it in stock and delivered it the next day. The deliverymen showed up on time, removed the old refrigerator, installed, and set up the new one, and took time to show me the bells and whistles. A couple hours later it started dropping ice cubes and I realized it didn't have an ice bucket, so I put a large mixing bowl underneath the ice maker. I called and spoke to Chuck about getting one. His response was he had no clue what could have happened to it. He checked the floor models and there were none in those refrigerators. He called back later and said he left a message with the manufacturer's rep and asked him to send one, and would get in touch with me when it came. 5 months later, 4 phone calls, and stopping in twice, still no ice bucket. Every time I speak or stop by - "We'll check and follow up". Haven't heard from anyone yet! I know it's just a plastic ice bucket, but I shouldn't have to have a metal mixing bowl in the freezer to catch ice. If you can't take care of the small easy details......... I had nothing but headaches trying to purchase a freezer and then delivery date promised was pushed back another week. Today it was delivered and it doesn't work properly, another headache trying to get it picked up and refunded. (Kudos to HD manager for getting that done for me after a mess with the 3rd party delivery people that couldn't be gotten ahold of). Sooo then I had to try to find another one... my son said "go where you bought the washer" So I called and Sandra looked through all the inventory and found the Frigidaire freezer I was looking for, put it on hold for me until I could get there. I have made multiple calls trying to inquire about an appliance, as is an option on their phone menu, and has always been a kindly provided service in the past. Today, I was sent to a message system and received an unrequested text to my phone, without me providing my number or a request...about scheduling a time to pick up furniture. Maybe they switched to AI, cause my whole experience with them has been complicated, obtrusive and infuriating. I do not want to drive nearly an hour to gamble on whether they have any of the appliances in that I need to replace the ones in my own household. This used to be a store that was there to help and benefit the community, save trash from the dumps and make surviving more in reach for families and individuals in our area. It seems as though they have moved from their part in the community service and care section. I was treated rudely and with disregard, when they used to be helpful and kind. What a disappointment and contrast to the service they used to proudly provide to our island communities. Kindness, respect and compassion makes people's lives better and you used to be able to depend on that from the East Cooper Home store. That, it seems is now a thing of the past. Perhaps they are busy with the designers in Mt Pleasant, and don't have time for the working families that make up and serve the island communities of Charleston.

I called to ask some questions and next thing you know, I was calling back with credit card info to set it up sight unseen. I called on a Friday and the unit we were interested in was in stock so we were able to set up delivery for Monday. Monday the crew called to let me know they were 20 mins away. They showed up as scheduled and were very professional. They hauled away the old broken unit, installed the new Speed Queen, and ran a test cycle. We had just repainted the concrete floor in the laundry room and they were careful not to scuff it up. Considering the delivery, install, and haul away was an extra $50, that was money well spent.
