He deduced that the drain pump wasn't working. After pulling it out he opened it up and discovered that the pump didn't feel right and showed me his findings. He ordered the part and would not accept payment until the repair was complete. A couple of days later, part in hand and first thing in the morning he shows up and puts the pump in place, and WaaaaaaLa! He put the washer through all the setting and showed me that it was working. Between both days, he probably spent an hour and fifteen minutes total. Great to have a working washer again! Oh, and not spend a bunch of money on a new machine.

Unfortunately, a permanent fix would require a replacement part which would take 2-3 days to arrive. Thursday afternoon, Jessica called to schedule the (next day) service call and by 11:00 am on Friday, Kyle A. was done. I honestly don't know if the charge for the service call ($100) or the replacement part was the lowest around but Joe was so pleased with his interactions with Jessica and Kyle that we would not hesitate to call Aviv again.

I watched a Youtube video on how to do it myself, ordered the part I needed online at a discount, and then realized I had no idea what I was doing. After watching the video again, it was definitely something I could do, but could possibly take all day or more. Someone with experience could probably be done in less than an hour. I weighed my options and called around to some places for quotes. Some of them wouldn't even do the job unless they provide the parts... I know that scam. Others were offering reasonable quotes for the job, but then would mention a service fee, travel fee, or some other variable that could make it $30-$70 more. I had left a voice mail for Atlantic and when I got a call back, they already had a quote ready of $95. I thought for sure she was about to hit me with a menagerie of additional fee's like everyone else, but that was it... $95 flat. They had an appointment a couple days later so I booked it right away. The repair guy arrived on time and went straight to work. He did a great job and worked very quickly. I ended up having to switch out a power cord on the dryer and hook everything up. I should have asked for a price on that because he rounded it up to $150 total for the whole job, but other places were quoting more than that for the original repair alone. At the end of the day, I still saved over $100 from buying my own parts and using Atlantic Home Services for the labor.

Assessed the situation, $85 and texted me with a quote a couple of hours later. Installed the pump. Dryer shaft broke following day, Jim came again pronto, diagnosed the disaster with no charge. Advised I need a new washer. I offered the part back & they returned the cost of it. Unbelievable. They are a fantastic service. I cannot praise them enough. This is my first one star review and honestly, I'm a more than a little pissed about it. First, the…read moreadvertisement for a $45 repair is misleading. It is a diagnostic fee that they used to secure your appointment. It goes towards nothing and you won't see it back no matter what ends up happening. I requested a technician to look at a washing machine for me and they were quick to schedule and have someone come out and look initially. The actual technician was very polite and knowledgeable, and I don't want this to reflect on them, but the company as a whole is run very poorly and it seems their supply chain resources are not the best. I had to have the part that was required ordered TWICE. First, because the manufacturer shipped the wrong part and no one checked to verify before doing service until the technician was literally in my house. The second time, I had to ask several time about delivery, verification of parts and then scheduling. 3.5 weeks AFTER the INITIAL diagnoses, I finally had an appointment for the technician to come out and install the second ordered part and confirmed with them yesterday that they had verified the part and confirmed the timeframe... 30 minutes INTO the window of service, I get a call from the company saying that they refunded me for the part but not the initial diagnostic fee... And when I ask when they were going to re-order the part and provide service, they stated that they had no intentions of ordering another part and would not complete service... now I've wasted time and made myself available for the third time and they didn't even offer to refund any part of the initial fee despite them inconveniencing me. I had other things I was going to do today AND STILL have a broken washing machine. Maybe just order your own parts and do the work yourself before calling this place .
