Location is walking distance to many things. Very touristy area, though, so that kept us walking right past most of the shops and restaurants that were nearest to the hotel. Much of the art on display throughout the hotel and in the guest room is quirky and a bit racy. Staff were very friendly and helpful, both at the check-in and concierge counters. They even helped us book tickets for a canal boat tour. Our room was very spacious and clean. We even had a bit of a view from the window (mostly street view, but also a bit of the canal). Like so many modern hotels, the bathroom area was a bit atypical, with the sink and (ample) counter space mostly in the open, while toilet and showers are contained within their own separate stalls. There is actually a switch on the wall that let's you frost or unfrost the glass walls of the bathroom, according to your preferences... definitely don't share a room with someone you won't trust with that power! The hand lotion and soap smelled very nice, FYI. A few quirks. They apparently have to manually unlock the fridge/mini bar from the front desk when you check in. We learned this when we found our fridge was locked upon our arrival. Our room didn't have a remote control for the TV, which didn't really matter since we weren't going to use it, but we wanted to turn the TV off since it displays a room directory by default. Finally, it seems like someone (another guest?) stole the "Do Not Disturb" sign from our door and our neighbors' doors at some point? The front desk helped us with all this stuff, but just some weird things to share. Amsterdam hotels (and particularly in the city center) are wildly expensive. Credit card points helped us stay at this conveniently located, pleasant property.

I got a fantastic octopus entree (it was cooked perfectly) and my boyfriend got iberico pork entree, also very good. The desserts were the highlight to me. The one award winning dessert with the peanut butter I wish had more peanut butter as we didn't really discover it till the last bite and it was so tasty. The other passionfruit dessert was so unique and different, I would definitely order that again. Restaurant itself was hip and modern and the service was as expected for an upscale place. I would return again.

The hotel is very family-friendly, which made traveling with kids easy and stress-free. One of the biggest perks was the M Club Lounge, which offers daily breakfast and a comfortable space to recharge between sightseeing. Service was excellent from the start--we arrived early after an overnight flight and were pleasantly surprised to be checked in early, which made a huge difference after traveling. Clean rooms, great amenities, and an unbeatable location. Would absolutely stay here again, especially for a family trip or a holiday visit to Amsterdam.

Excellent stay at the Amsterdam Marriott. Would return in the future…read more Rooms: + Nicely appointed, with everything in tip top shape. + Our room was at the end of a hallway, with an entry foyer, so we heard no noise from the hallway. However, during our stay, a guest in another room opened their door because they could hear people waiting on the elevator. Service: + Everyone is well-trained. Anytime a minor hiccup arose (room was not serviced one day), it was quickly addressed. Elite recognition: + No major upgrades available (NUA denied). Fully sold out hotel during our stay. + M Club Lounge was very nice. Had some of the longest breakfast hours I have seen (6-11am), but was essentially the same thing each morning. It got busy during evening hours (5:30-7:30pm), with some minor variation in food. Heineken (and wines) available during evening canapes. + When room was serviced, given a Tony's Chocolonely bar and stroopwafels in a nice tin. Location: + 25 minute walk to Centraal. Along multiple tram lines.

TOP NOTCH service and the breakfast was out of this world!!! My travel companion left me stranded,…read moreI missed my train to the London, and so I was forced to book a room at the last minute. Since I am new to Amsterdam, I had no idea where to book and this location is across the water. It was further away that I expected and seemed to be in a business district rather than the "party" district. Actually, it was nice to be in an area that is more calm and quiet. When I finally arrived at the hotel, well past 8 pm, the staff was very helpful. My day was extremely stressful trying to figure out how to continue a trip without the travel partner who booked everything. The staff stepped up and helped me and their attitude calmed me down. I was so grateful for how nice they were to me. One of the staff members said that he really appreciate how nice and calm I was with them and that most people would have been angry in the same circumstances. Those words literally meant the world to me. We lifted each other up that night and so I will always be a fan. Then I went into my room!!!! SWOON! There was a light behind the television that allowed you to change it to 5 or 6 different colors. Very cool! The shower was really big and had a rain shower from the ceiling. Truly my best stay the entire month that I was in Europe. The breakfast spread was so amazing I couldn't stop eating. I never eat that much food, but it tasted incredible. The staff in the breakfast area were also super helpful and kind. When I go back to Amsterdam, and I will, this is for sure where I want to stay!!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!

I found this hotel randomly online for my stay in Amsterdam and absolutely loved it…read more For the price it was amazing. A few notable items - - Check-In & Check-Out process is self serve and seamless. For those that don't love talking to people, this is IT girl. There is a staffed front desk available to assist if you run into any issues. - We booked the basic two person room. The cons - a pretty small room with a bathroom/toilet that is separated by a very thin glass wall; if you're looking for privacy, you're not going to get it. The pros - beds are super comfy and you can airplay your phone on the TV which is great. We also had no issues with WiFi in the room. - Lovely gym that is attached to the lobby. - A self-serve grab and go cart in the lobby area for snacks, water and even DRINKS! I've never been to a hotel that had self-serve beer & wine on TAP. Love that. - The restaurant downstairs actually has pretty good food - we ate here multiple times and enjoyed it. - Ubers we're super easy to call and everything you need to access in the city is 15-30 minutes away. They also had bikes for rent (we didn't take advantage of this) but it was a nice perk. The hotel gives hip vibes - almost like you're on a reality show (think Netflix's The Circle). It's almost between a super elevated hostel and hotel. I personally really enjoyed it and would definitely book again.

The hotel is also located very close to the docks where our Viking Rhine River cruise boat docked, although it is very difficult to walk there due to busy roadways in the area. The back of the hotel overlooks a dozen railway lines, with the docks in the background. The front of the hotel overlooks the river, and center of the city. We used Hilton honors points for our May 26-May 28, 2024 stay, and got upgraded to a fourth-floor suite, on the corner. Got the usual fresh out of the oven chocolate chip cookies. Place is shaped like a triangle due to sharp angles of the building. Our unit had a spacious bathroom with separate tube and shower, a separate bedroom, and separate living room with a mini bar. Floor to ceiling windows in bedroom and living room. The living room had a sofa, desk, multiple sitting tables and view of the river. Closet without doors, as is common in Europe. One of the quirks of having a corner room is that the unit was shaped like a triangle. Opening the bathroom door would block the main door from opening. Very quiet, as we faced away from the railway tracks, and no vehicle traffic on the combination bike/pedestrian walkway in front of the river. We are Hilton Diamond members and had access to the top floor Executive Lounge, but didn't eat there. Ate downstairs at the free breakfast buffet for Hilton Gold and Diamond members, and free happy hour appetizers/snacks at the bar. The airport is accessible by surface train from the nearby Centraal Station, although if you have check-in luggage, you should take a taxi, as the train cars have very limited room to store oversized luggage, and no overhead storage compartments like airlines. They also make a large number of stops. Rated 100/100 on the walkability scale by Tripadvisor, with 174 restaurants and 67 attractions within 0.3 miles.
