    Nice clean bathroom
    Grace P.

As we enter the lobby, we are greeted with a warm smile... Even at 10pm. Checking in was quick. Inside looks clean and modern. The elevators are tiny but maybe I'm used to everything being bigger in general as an American lol As we enter the room, it's immediately the kitchen area which is spacious... And big windows with view of City lights which is beautiful at night. The bed is big, clean and comfy. Bathroom has a big open shower. I don't get the half doors that European hotels seem to really like cz sometimes water goes out the shower...but because this was a big shower, it wasn't a problem.. The hotel had pretty much everything we needed from the kitchen gadgets, to toiletries and the biggest thing was the outlets... They had several types from plain USB, to US outlet to UK ..it's also attached to a mall which has a grocery store which was cool... The hotel provides bikes for free so if ur up for that cz that's a big mode of transportation in Amsterdam (never seen so many bikes In a city in my life) then go for it. (Will warn you the streets are small so if ur not confident in riding a bike,I'd pass cz the drivers in Europe are like racecar drivers and we almost ran over a person in our Uber) It's also not too far of a walk from their publc transportation like buses and Subway... Not too far from the city They have a nice European Continental breakfast with high quality items Bf and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would definitely stay here again if we ever go back to Amsterdam

    Decent fridge size!

Overall a great spot to stay if you want lots of space, quiet evenings, and modern amenities. It's not overly touristy, so it's possible to see actual Dutch people going about their lives, rather than hordes of foreign partiers. It's located right near several grocery stores and shops, so you can easily stock your fridge and enjoy meals without much fuss. This was a game changer for us, given how few gluten-free choices seemed available in most restaurants. Bed was beyond comfortable -- I wish I could have one like it at home! yes, the pillows are wafer thin, but I didn't bother to complain about it. Breakfast options were decent, with a selection of delicious cheese and cereals, but note the eggs are hard boiled only; hot selections cost extra. Staff are friendly but it's fairly self-serve. Facecloths, teabags, and coffee are not replenished consistently, BUT the laundry facilities are handy (if a bit pricey) if you're on the go for a while. My only gripe is that after spending 8 nights here, they wanted to charge me 10 Euro an hour for a late check-out! Ugh! Talk about petty...

Check in took forever. No elite line for platinums. Lobby is small and disorganized. I got upgraded to a suite. Element brand is an extended stay for SPG; not really my thing. The a/c doesn't work good and it took the front desk 2 minutes to answer my call. No room service and you have to walk to the restaurant for ice. I'd rather stay at the Sheraton at the airport. No buckets for ice. Was told we have nothing for you. The a/c doesn't work. Awful.

Stayed here for 8 nights. It was a really comfortable hotel and the traffic were lovely. There are 5 free bikes that they let you use. I recommend trying to get the bikes since Amsterdam is so bike friendly. My only complaint is how far away the hotel is from the city center and from the RAI conference center. The nice thing is that it is located near a mall so you have access to nice shops and supermarkets. There are microwaves and stoves in all the rooms so you can make your own food. The rooms are much larger than most European rooms with couches and dinner tables and large beds. My room didn't have a tub though I wish it did. Breakfast is underwhelming. It's a very basic continental breakfast. Nothing special. The baristas make really good coffee so I suggest requesting something instead of drinking the regular coffee.

I stayed here for 11 days while visiting Amsterdam for a trade show over at the RAI. This was one of the most comfortable hotels I've stayed at while traveling for work. The rooms are extremely clean, simple, and modern. I love that each room has a mini kitchenette so you can choose to eat in instead of dining out every single night. The hotel is connected to the Gelderlandplein shopping mall, which has multiple grocery stores to choose from - Marqt, AH, Shilla, HEMA. Breakfast is included for all guests, though it doesn't really include any hot foods (mainly breads, yogurt, cereal, fruit). Elevators are extremely fast and efficient! Staff here is all very friendly. Only a few cons I experienced during my stay: -This hotel does not offer room service :( -They do not replace the body lotions, water bottles, or coffee capsules in your room. I had to ask them to bring up more lotion. They wouldn't bring up a water bottle for me though, since I was supposed to go down to the lobby pantry to purchase one. -Housekeeping leaves quite early at night. One time I ran out of tissues and had to go down to the lobby to grab another box because housekeeping was already gone for the day. Overall, I would definitely consider staying here again for future events at the RAI.

I've stayed at this hotel many, many times. Unfortunately, my office moved, and I haven't been back in months so now I'm at a Mercure. The people at the front desk are nice and the small talk gives the impression they care. Never had an issue with them. In fact, there have been several times where there has been a line to check in/out, and I've seen them spend ample time to answer questions, make reservations, call cabs, etc until their current client is satisfied. No hurrying people along - so they understand customer service. The rooms are nice and some of the issues I've run into over the past include: thermostats that don't work well, room safes that are locked when I arrive, no water/towels in the gym, and broken gym sound system were either fixed or didn't ruin my stays. If you tell them of an issue, they will do their best to resolve. The perks of the place include a very good continental breakfast, comfy beds, CNN and MTV on the TV, many TV channels that cover a variety of languages, outlets for US plugs without converter, 24-hour gym, near several restaurants and grocery stores, free bike rental, restaurant & bar on-site, and rooms with a safe, kitchenette, and mini-fridge. It's also clean and has modern/trendy decor. One of the items that may turn off people is that it's a 15 min walk to the metro (Amsterdam Zuid). I honestly didn't mind it. It was through a safe, residential neighborhood and after a long day's work or even before work, the walk was a good way to energize. It was calming. I'd stay here again if I was in the area and recommend. I think the hotel is a a bit pricey though.

This is what SPG wanted in its coolest property, don't know if the domestic properties are this great but here it's was the best. The clean sleek decor meets drop of elegance is perfect. The clientele was a bit younug but subdued probably in beep though of world politics. The location is perfect near the train, shopping, jogging, food, and peace and quiet. Rooms are huge very comfortable like a small condo of your own. They offer laundry, great gym, excellent breakfast, restaurant, coffee & deserts. I loved it would do it every time if this is what it's like everywhere. Great staff they work as a team very much like a friend welcoming you into their home. Great job SPG!!!!!! 10 short of lifetime Platinum and I loved this great new SPG experience.

Beautiful, comfortable, contemporary, quiet and clean hotel located in the south of Amsterdam 3 minutes drive from the Rai convention center and 11 minutes from the Schiphol airport. We spent 2 days at the hotel and have absolutely nothing negative to report. The decoration is second to none offering a very comfortable and relaxing setting. The hotel is very clean and the staff very helpful and friendly. The beds are heavenly and the rooms have all the bells and whistles one can ask for. The price is relatively low compared to all the neighboring hotels. Breakfast included, everything is home made and delicious. It's all in the details and this property did not miss any of them. The parking is even free on weekends. What else can you ask for? Will definitely come back!

The hotel was reasonably clean, but housekeeping was inconsistent--limited mostly to just making the bed, and the bathroom wasn't refreshed. The location was good, although not in the city center, it's very close to the Zuid metro station. While in our room, housekeeping somehow damaged my electric toothbrush, which was unsettling given that the bathroom wasn't even cleaned. When I brought this to the manager's attention, she was defensive and insisted they would need a receipt and to speak with staff before even considering compensation. At that point, it didn't feel worth pursuing. Overall, it was an average stay. Nothing was terrible, but with other hotels offering equal or better service for a similar price, I would explore other options next time.

It's so hip,…read moreand happening, am very happy got to experience it and my main reason for choosing it was because there was a direct bus from the bus stop outside which dropped me off near my work building in 35mins! So I guess having good intentions does matter. So why the love for this place? Well first let my start off with the lovely staff. I arrived at noon and check-in wasn't till 3pm. I was jet-lagged, tired, smelly and in desperate need of a hot shower and a place to rest. Nimka, at reception totally emphasized, called house-keeping and 45 mins later my room was available. The hotel's owner was also happy to supply me with a resident letter which was super essential for me to register with Amsterdam Town Hall and without which, I wouldn't have been able to work. Also Carlo at the front desk, later on in my stay checked that I was happy and when I mentioned the smell of the soup was fairly aggressive for me, since I'm a wee bit sensitively artificial smells, they got a neutral scent soap for me! Just saying! Moving on to the room - oh la la!! It's modern hipster living design elements at its best. Any Brooklynite's reading this review would totally want to live in this space! Everything (including the kitchen sink!) has its place and yet the room walked super spacious. I had a side view of the street and loved the blackout curtains so could sleep comfortably in the massive bed. The headboard was too cute / it's shape profile was like an Amsterdam canal house! The kitchen was thoughtfully stocked with pots/ pans/ baking dish/ cutlery etc. No toaster but I used the pan and excellent coffee plus tea machine. Tons of storage space and a lovely + comfy couch. Loved the thoughtfully curated books about Amsterdam that were in the bookshelf as well as the side table. Gadget-wise too, this hotel rocks! All the light switches are dimmers! If you press down on the switch longer, it becomes brighter! There are two usb chargers built-in next to the bedside table, which is super convenient. Also, the shower in the bathroom was fantastical! They had a rain shower which just melted away all my travel dirt and it was super refreshing to use, with great water pressure. The hand-held shower has 3 settings which it was super easy to toggle between. The tiles were delft blue and so u totally got the Dutch feeling. BTW, did I mention how spacious it was? Other amenities that impressed me was the sauna and the gym. There is a restaurant also attached with Movenpick Ice-cream!! This is my fave brand of ice-cream in the world! Ben & Jerrys!?! Pshaw! Movenpick's where it is at! Silky, smooth, buttery - make sure u try this ice-cream at the restaurant if u stay here. Btw, this place is also so well located, it's a short 20min tram ride to Amsterdam Central aka the touristy got spot but it's lovely to come back to this hotel and get away from the crowds and wind down and chillax. Other things I like about the place: - the Braille language in the elevator - the bowl of oranges near the elevator lobby - the wonderful cinnamon candy you get as a gift - the laundry facilities include soap and they also have hanging racks Overall absolutely recommend if you are looking for a cool and hip hotel in a great location for a short trip or even a long stay! The bed was very comfortable with two USB ports on each side for easy charging. There was even a stocked Nespresso machine in the mini-kitchen! The surrounding area was nice, with plenty of food in walking distance and the tram right out front. We were able to hop on the tram to get into the main city or head to the airport! (We did both.) I wish we had taken more photos, because this place is so cool that you have to see it to believe it. We will absolutely return to Amsterdam, if only to stay here. Long story short? Choose this one! I say this because all rooms have a clear glass shower in the middle of the room and toilet is also placed within frosted glass sliding doors (see pics). Approaching the hotel, it's very conveniently located for public transit, about 6-7 minutes walk from the Amsterdam Zuid train and metro station, where trams and buses also stop. The area directly around the hotel is mostly residential so street parking is also available. A ramp or a few stairs lead down to the front entrance, and a Jeff Koons balloon dog statue greets you in the foyer, followed to the left by a casual table set up of self-check-in, semi-assisted with friendly staff that come over if they see you looking confused. I appreciated that the entire process was pretty simple, at each iPad station you scan your own key card from a stash of cards to work for your room, also you're allowed to check-in early as long as a room is available. I arrived at 10am and was able to go up to my room right away which was a plus. The rest of the lobby area consists of plenty of seating, a couple dining tables with benches around a central bar/kitchen area, where snacks, drinks (alcoholic and non) and light meals area available to order. Filtered tap or sparkling water also available for all customers to self-serve fill up glass jugs and bring up to your room. Shared co-working and lounge spaces in the lobby were also very colorful and stylish. Staff are willing and able to help with inquiries. The hallways and my room were pretty clean, I wiped a little dust off the desk and bathroom shelves. The bed is very comfortable, (and probably this and the relative ease of public transit are the reasons I would stay here again,) king sized though it's against the window. Pillows were better than most hotels I've recently stayed at. Control for the thermostat, TV, lights, blinds (both day blinds and blackout blinds) are controlled via iPad. TV controls were a bit temperamental, sometimes it wouldn't work or there was a lag, the TV shut off a couple times and I couldn't turn it back on. WiFi was consistent and strong. If you're not familiar with Citizen M they incorporate a lot of witty/humorous content in their presentation so expect to see some of this in the signs and branding around the hotel. Getting to the parts I really didn't like: 1) the lack of privacy by using a glass shower with white curtains that are basically see-thru, and toilet incorporated into the room--really convenient if you're staying with a friend and you want to see them nude, or hear their bathroom functions. For the rest of us, well...not as much. 2) very nice to have a rainforest shower in a small room like this, however aside from aforementioned privacy issues, it's hard to clean and even with good ventilation the humidity will get caught in the shower, resulting in black mold in the sliding shower door tracks both above and below. 3) because the sink is also in the middle of the room, whenever you use it, water inevitably splashes out even being very careful, so you have to wipe it up to avoid tracking dirt and dust all around the room. 4) the room is quite small so if you have anything more than a carryon suitcase there's not much room to open your luggage, also very minimal hanger space, just a few hooks and a few hangers provided. 5) safe in my room didn't work. I kept things locked in my suitcase and was ok. 6) only two outlets in the room, which can be a challenge if you have more than one person needing to charge a few items overnight at the same time. 7) whenever I entered the room the window blinds would automatically open, which I found annoying bc I would have to close them again. The room I was in faced other residential buildings so I didn't particularly want people seeing into my room. 8) last but not least, I'm not sure who decided to place the toilet paper roll dispenser on the the left upper side edge of a toilet with an abnormally high back--imagine trying to reach a foot over your left shoulder or contorting your body at an extremely unnatural bent-over angle to reach and tear off the necessary several squares each time after you use the bathroom...sigh. Or maybe this toilet paper dispenser was built for tall people, not us with the short arms. For some the positives might balance out the negatives, which was generally the case with my stay, and I would consider staying again. However I would also check what other hotels are available next time before booking this as a back up.

Our group of 50 booked it out, and the entire hotel is quite beautiful. Centrally located across from the Convention Center and near the Metro, we found it very convenient for our four day stay. The staff were friendly, and efficient checking our group in on the second floor; brilliant. The rooms are interesting: long hallway into a room with two single beds right next to one another. There were two of us (women) and it was a bit cozy. There are many amenities: including a lovely espresso machine to start the day before you head up to the 17th floor, gorgeous view for a spectacular breakfast buffet. The staff are very friendly, but if you don't tell them while you are away from the table gathering more goodies they will clear your table in a blink. Happened to me twice, before I got wise. The buffet includes everything you could hope or imagine for breakfast which is my favorite meal of the day. A waffle bar, granola bar, glass shelves display of charcuterie, English breakfast complete with scrambled eggs, beans, tomatoes and sausages. Two capuchino stations, one completely plant based, and you can make as many as you like. If you prefer to take food with you, that is an option as well. The hotel has a restaurant, and a lovely bar. Food at the restaurant has a limited menu but there are many eateries near by to choose from for dinner. My only comment to improve my stay I would have liked to have had a luggage rack as my large suitcase had to go on the floor. This is a boutique hotel I don't think most of their guests bring a great deal of luggage. The bathroom was beautiful with a raindrop shower in a wonderful glass enclosed area. You need to utilize the door to the hallway if you want to keep the water in the shower. Lots of warm comfy towels are available if you ask for them. There is also a towel warmer on the wall. Nice touch. I am not completely sure how this hotel compares price wise with others but its uniqueness in decor makes it stand out. For artist enthusiasts be sure to check out the second floor; lots of places to sit and enjoy your stay while enjoying the decor.
