i didn't do business with them because they didn't respect my budget. first quote was 2x what i wanted to spend. i showed john pics of my ideas but got huge boulders in the design that i didn't ask for/like. second quote was still 50% over my budget. john refused to change existing sprinklers to drip. his cost was over $2k to unnecessarily repipe and wouldn't provide any warranty on the work or plants if i didn't let him replace. i received reasonable quotes from others who are also licensed, insured and warranty their work. i walked away and chose another company. read more

Tri Star did such a great job on our front and backyards. The men arrived on time and worked hard every day, even in our heat. They take pride in their work, more than once I saw them stop and redo what they were working on because it didn't look right. Our yard was left all clean and picked up at the end of each day. We initially hired them to do our backyard and we liked them so much that we had them do our front yard as well! Our patio has become an extention of our living room. John Zamora and his crew, especially Valentin the foreman, were professional and courteous throughout the whole work process. John's crew would arrive just before 7 a.m. and leave around 3:30 p.m. Before leaving for the day (our front yard was a 6-day job), the crew would clean up our front yard and dispose of any trash or debris. To complete the job on schedule, John even had his crew work on a Saturday (rain was in the forecast for the upcoming Monday) which is something he does not usually do. These are just a few examples of how well-organized and managed Tri Star Landscaping Services is. Now our front yard is something we are quite proud of because of John's design and recommendations. It's not too hard to look good when everything goes correctly on a job. It's a more telling sign of a great contractor when things don't go as planned. We had artificial turf installed by Tri Star Landscaping in October of 2015. Within less than a year there was an obvious wear path in the turf. John agreed that it shouldn't be that way. He brought in both the distributor and manufacturier. Neither would accept responsibility for their poor product quality. John stepped up and worked with us to find an acceptable solution to our obvious wear pattern. His crew installed pavers that looked like they should have always been there. There are many great things about Tri Star, but one of the best is that they stand behind the job even after it is finished. My husband and I would recommend TriStar Landscape Services to anyone, without hesitation. It took us years to plan a more professional backyard and select the right contractor to do the job. John Zamora, his landscape architect, and his crew, consisting mainly of Roy and Max, were recommended by a neighbor and they expertly transformed our small back yard and side yards by adding three beautifully landscaped flagstone, stamped concrete and brushed concrete patio spaces, flagstone walkways and a new, and newly leveled, natural lawn. My husband and I are so happy with the beautifully perfect results! From beginning to end, John and his designer and crew listened to us and heard everything we were asking for. They worked everyday as promised except when rainy weather precluded. Communication and reliability is key to our satisfaction as customers and John never once let us down. We always knew by timely text or phone call what to expect next. We're so happy with this project that we're looking forward to starting on a new project with John right after the New Year, involving a re-do of our front entry walkway and expanding the width of our driveway with a beautiful border which will match the new entry walkway. We moved into a new home during the summer and our front/back yard was all dirt. Our builder highly recommended TriStar Landscape so I met with John Zamora the owner for an initial meeting and was so impressed I decided to go with him immediately. John's been in this business for awhile so I'm surprised to not see other Yelp reviews here. He is very professional and super easy to work with ... John is kind, a great listener, very responsive, detailed, and thorough. I went over my vision for what I wanted and we met with a landscape designer to bring my ideas to fruition. There were lots of specifications with a gas fire pit, sandbox with water spigot, DG area for trampoline, fenced in area for pet, etc. but John and his team were awesome. The best part is that John is 100% customer oriented. He will get the job done until you are completely satisfied. For example, we hit some roadblocks with one of the projects in our yard but John was very understanding and made sure it was completely resolved. He was on our side. As I brought up issues, he was never defensive and always willing to discuss anything. That is a hard to find quality in this business.
